What do you expect from Travis Hunter in year two?

I'll tell you, I think he's going to be the absolute superstar he was brought here to

be.

And there's a reason for it.

I'll get to it.

This show, I'll tell you what to expect in year two from Travis Hunter.

First part of this show will be Travis Hunter review of year one.

Let's not wasting any time and barely let's get right to it.

Year one.

Did it go the way anyone wanted it to go?

Yeah.

From a team's perspective, it did individually for Travis Hunter.

It did not.

I can only imagine what it would have been like if Jaguars made that trade, got Travis

Hunter, Travis Hunter got hurt in the Jaguars one, six games.

You would be able to hear the white light crickets in the woods at night.

You'd have been able to hear yelling all the way from Boulder, Colorado to New York City

that the Jaguar screwed up.

Oh, wait a minute.

They said that anyway.

They're still saying it.

Many people are still saying the Jaguar should have never traded up for Travis Hunter.

If you put together the draft class of last year and this year, Travis Hunter is still

the best prospect regardless of what you've seen.

And what you've seen should have, you should even, it actually should put the exclamation

point on it because he had a freak injury.

His injury wasn't caused by anything that somebody missed and scouting.

It was a freak injury that happened in practice.

The last time you saw him play, he had eight catches for over a hundred yards on the touchdown

against a team that was in the final four.

The times before that you saw him play, he was playing against the goat.

One of the goat teams of this generation in Kansas City and he looked like the best football

player on the field at night, offensively and defensively.

If you really pay attention to what he did and if you really pay attention to how the

year was going, unless you're just trying to be a hater or unless you just had a bad opinion

of him or the trade from the very beginning, tell you that Travis Hunter was a really,

really good football player.

And he didn't go quite the way some people painted these narratives of how it should go

because of where he was drafted.

Oh, he's got to get 1,200 yards and get six interceptions and have one of them run back

for a touchdown and a punt return for a touchdown.

He wasn't bucking for a high instrument trophy here, all right.

He was adjusting the plan in the NFL, learning a new system on offense and defense, getting

used to everything.

One thing you never heard him complain about is the speed of the game because the way

he is and the way he's yoked up, the speed of the game did not bother him and it should

have.

All of those things.

So that's the year sort of in review of Travis Hunter.

The thing is, though, we don't have to worry about him coming back to a 6-win team.

He's coming back to a 13-win team and the 13-win team was proof of concept to him that

he's playing for the right organization, hopefully to a lot of people that support him as well.

They now can say, okay, no, Liam Cohen knows what he's doing.

They won 13 games in NFL.

You got to give him a little bit of grace that he knows what he's doing and that it was

hard for anybody to get Travis used to the NFL while trying to play him on both offense

and defense.

We're going to talk about Travis Hunter, what they expect in year two.

I expect Travis Hunter to come back with, I'm not going to say a vengeance.

I don't know.

He has vengeance and revenge for what people are saying.

I think Travis Hunter realizes, okay, yeah, I went to a real good team.

And these people know what they're doing.

And now, whatever communications issues that they had, those are going to go away.

Because I really expect the new DB coach to really make an impact on Travis Hunter.

I really do.

I think he is, he's going to be more in line with Anthony Campanelli because of the familiarity

there's just so much that I believe is going to happen and occur because of that change.

And also because of the fact that, you know, having that, having that, having that year,

having that time off for Travis Hunter, let me take my glasses off here, but having that

time off from Travis Hunter, sometimes sitting and watching allows you to see things with

a little bit of a clearer picture.

And now, there's nobody that can really say that they don't know what they're doing.

Because a lot of people are absolutely saying that last year.

So that's one thing.

The other thing is, he's just the ultimate competitor.

And this is the thing that people forget about him.

And this is what I believe the Jaguars lead with.

They lead with guys that each sleep and drink football.

Somebody said he yesterday on the squad show, they each sleep and drink football.

They lead with people.

Matthew Arruja, I want to make sure I say his name correctly, but Matthew Arruja is a

new defensive pass game coordinator.

I think he's going to make a tremendous difference.

They lead with guys with want to that have a high competitive spirit about him.

So I can't give you a statistical number.

I expect Travis Hunter to see the ends on five times this year.

That's a mix of pick six, scoop, fumble, punt return and touchdowns on offense.

Now, so he'll probably get four on offense in limited time, even though he's not playing

a whole bunch on offense.

I think they're going to put him in situations to score points.

And if that happens, I'll be the first one to come on here doing a cartwheel telling

you, it happened.

I told you was going to happen.

Specific things for him to get his hands on the ball and score points in certain situations.

That's going to be made easier by the power running game by hopefully Brian Thomas Jr.

coming back and being Brian Thomas Jr. by Jacobi Myers presence by Parker Washington's

presence.

Britain's strength is going to be improved.

I expect the offense to be lights out defensively.

I expect him to be everything that we thought he was going to be because he's in

distinctive.

He's sticky.

He's definitely going to have the opportunity to jump some balls in the zone.

I think he's going to make huge, huge plays and be one of the better cover corners in

the national football league.

I'm looking for big things for Travis Hunter.

You guys need to be looking for big things for Travis Hunter too because in my opinion,

this year would be a huge, huge year for him.

And if that happens, watch out.

The Jaguar is going to be one of the three or four best teams again in the AFC.

And I don't know.

They might not be number four.

I'm telling you, it's going to be a lot of competition at the top, man.

And I think the Jaguars are well on their way and they serve notice to a lot of people

that they will be prepared.

They will be competent.

Trevor Lawrence has arrived and they got a whole bunch of players on this football team

that's ready to get after.
