0:08
Well, welcome back to Thursday Thoughts.
0:10
I'm excited it's been a couple of weeks since we have done this and we're not talking
0:17
We are going to be talking to Kila.
0:20
So sit back and buckle into the latest episode of Thursday Thoughts.
0:24
So we're going to be talking about one of the most beautiful bottles I've seen in a very
0:29
long time and we're going to be speaking some Spanish, Pesuana, Blanca, and the resposado
0:36
which you just saw in this terracotta, the Blanco, and the white, just beautiful, beautiful
0:46
These are celebrating the Chinese astrology 60 years in the making here.
0:51
So it's a year of massive energy, forward momentum and most importantly prosperity.
0:57
So when you look at the spirit to toast the season, I couldn't ignore the story behind
1:02
the brand, Pesuana or Pesuana, Blanca, the name translates white hoof inspired by the
1:09
Mexican legend that a horse marked with a single white hoof brings strength, balance,
1:16
and incredible good fortune.
1:18
So in a year of the horse gifting or sharing this bottle, it kind of makes a great connection.
1:24
So let me tell you a little bit about this brand beyond the luck, the craftsmanship
1:31
So it's coming out of nom 1480 tequila las amenacas in the Amashian Valley.
1:37
Again, I don't speak Spanish doing my best here, but the really exciting thing about this
1:43
is it just all comes together with the story of the year, the horse and the white hoof.
1:48
So they actually still use horses in the agave fields to manage their soil, its low impact
1:53
organic practices that respects the land.
1:56
The bottles themselves are gorgeous, like I mentioned, like who wouldn't want this on
2:02
the back bar, they're absolutely stunning.
2:04
They are made of heavy earthware inspired ceramic that feels like a piece of art behind
2:12
Now it's time to dive into the Blanco, which comes in at 80 proof in this beautiful
2:19
Again, my wife has wanted to decorate these since we just got them, so they are going
2:24
to go upstairs somewhere and we'll be diving into this tequila Blanco first.
2:30
So I don't drink a ton of tequila.
2:33
So I'm excited to talk a little bit about this, right, because it is Thursday thoughts.
2:36
I'm giving you a thought on something that I find interesting and I can tell you I'm
2:41
far away already and this just has a wonderful nose.
2:45
So there is obviously the agave, which is citrusy.
2:49
There's a lot of lime forward notes here, vanilla.
2:56
Just a touch, a little bit of hint of like smokiness there, but it's so sweet and delicate
3:03
and just it smells great.
3:05
Our buddy Steve Cooms will always say Blanco tequila is the best representation of tequila
3:10
because it's a very pure spirit.
3:19
At that 80 proof, it's super simple to drink, very easy, like the peppery note that it has
3:25
in there, the citrus peel and it's just crisp.
3:29
The notes in the press really talk about the minerality of the soil in which the agave
3:37
And so they also agree with the peppery finish and they say the word smooth, but it is just
3:42
an easy drinking Blanco tequila.
3:45
I do prefer tequila over ice, but for this, I'm just going to sip it neat just to get a
3:51
This is a no additive 100% organic pure spirit.
3:55
So as my guy Wayne says, he's always about finding brands that are additive free, they're
4:01
doing things the right way, they're taking things the next step.
4:05
Now it's really important to think about where you are on your own tequila journey, right?
4:11
Blanco is a very clear spirit.
4:14
And then you add the inyahome, right?
4:16
Which is lightly rested in a barrel for a certain period of time.
4:22
If you are looking for kind of more of a breakdown on resposato or inyahome, any of those
4:31
things, you can actually go find this in our first Thursday thoughts episode ever that
4:37
we do with tequila partita, which kind of set me off on a fun Thursday journey back
4:44
in the summer of 2025.
4:46
And so getting ready for spring and summer here in the great state of Kentucky, tequila
4:52
will become in the rotation along with bourbon.
4:56
So the tequila resposato again, 100% de galvan, 80 proof.
5:05
I do like this little balance, more vanilla flavors kind of come through a little bit
5:11
Less of the citrusy note, more of the peppery note on the nose.
5:21
I think it adds just a little bit of complexity on the palate.
5:24
The citrus vanilla really start to shine through.
5:28
These are just really really good pours.
5:31
The best thing you can say is it's clean, it tastes clean, it drinks clean.
5:35
When you have a clear spirit, I don't know, resposato is not necessarily clear.
5:40
But when you have a clear spirit, that's what you're looking for.
5:42
You're looking for cleanliness and does it have peaks and valleys or sharp edges.
5:46
This one's really nice and rounded.
5:48
And I think it just provides a really enjoyable and comfortable approach to sipping tequila
5:57
So if you are looking for these to celebrate the new year or tequila with a little bit
6:02
of soul and a backstory, Pazuna, Blanca, or the resposato are both beautiful and they
6:09
are available nationwide on Reserve Bar.
6:12
