theme.
Most of them are about keeping people out.
There's insane membership costs, there's no choice from what bottles you actually receive,
so here at Pursuit Spear, we're changing that game.
That's why we introduced P-Club.
It's our way of bringing our distillery straight to you.
We've scrapped the whole mystery box model, so as a member, you get total control with
a customizable cart.
You can choose anything from our everyday offerings that may or may not be available
on retail shelves around you, or we have, once a quarter, brand new exclusive distillery
gift shop only releases that will never hit store shelves, and that includes everything
from our Melwood Legacy collection.
Plus, you'll get 10% off all merch, invites to VIP virtual tastings with Rhine and myself,
and $15 off distillery experiences here at our home at Whiskey Road and downtown Louisville.
It's not about being exclusive, it's about finally having the access you deserve.
We're in our inner circle today at PursuitSpirits.com slash P-Club, or just go to PursuitThePirits.com
and hit that P-Club link to come and join us.

Everybody, welcome back.
It is this week in Bourbon.
I'm Kenny Coleman.
Ryan Cecil here.
And Ryan, you know, when we started doing our whole thing over at Melwood, when we started
thinking of, oh, what's the coolest experience that you could do, and we started putting together.
Let's give people the barrel pick experience, the fill your own bottle experience, the tasting
experience.
What the hell would we call this thing?
And I said, let's just halt the whole shabang.
That's right.
I never, I thought, is it like a car song or something?
I don't know.
Anyways, you're going to get into it.
I've always heard that expression, but I never understood the meaning.
Well, here.
I know.
I'm glad you're here to invite us.
That's what I'm here for.
I'm here for your enlightenment.
During the American Civil War back in the 1860s, soldiers were ordered to build themselves
shelters, which house up large amounts of things.
And these shelters were called shabangs.
And over time, this term was expanded to mean that it meant everything in one group.
So today, we say the whole shabang, meaning a whole set of something.
Oh, why they call them shabangs?
That's just, the shelters were just called shabangs and it had everything inside there.
Interesting.
Well, if you, if you had like green, gangrene, you go, go get take care of in the shabang.
I guess so.
Or, yeah.
Well, I mean, there's a lot of stuff that comes from the military side.
Remember, like, when we started, I was like, bivouac, what that is.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's like a backpack or something.
Yeah.
All these, all these other kind of things are, you know, we couldn't say it properly for
a long time.
But now it means you get two samples of bourbon and six barrel samples and bottle your own
experience.
It is the whole shabang.
It's the whole shabang.
That's exactly what it is.
That's right.
Yeah.
Well, it's good to be back.
It is.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We took, was it last week we took a break?
No.
No, two weeks ago.
Yeah.
We were with Matt last week.
Oh, that's right.
It feels like a month ago.
It feels like a month ago.
We've been going at it.
You were in Houston this week.
Yep.
I was at a loyalty conference.
I'm heading to Somerset tonight and we have got some more bourbon in front of us here as
well too.
Yeah.
Just got off back from Houston.
It was a great trip for two days.
Shout out to our good partners at specs and space city and liquor zone there in
Pirland.
Pete, it was awesome hanging with you.
You are great supporters and Mr. B.
It's a space city and then also everyone that came to my event.
It was great seeing the four horsemen Wade Woodard made an appearance.
I love Wade.
Yeah.
And a lot of our ambassadors came.
You know, Josh Sheagles got out to him.
He was awesome.
He shadowed me for the day.
I had to see what was going into liquor stores and try a sell product so I was enlightening
for him.
It's so glorious that people are like, oh, it must be so great to be in the whiskey
business.
It's like, oh, would you like to go and be a door to door salesman trying to pedal your
product every single day because it technically is that.
Yeah.
I don't mind it.
I know you hate it.
I don't want it.
I don't like it.
It's a good time.
It was fun.
That's good.
Yeah.
But anyways, yes, we have bottled whiskey here.
Straight bourbon coming from, but it's in Nashville, Indiana.
Yes.
It's national in Indiana.
It's national in Indiana.
It's not far from Louisville.
They like to talk about this because you're only about an hour away from Louisville.
It's really not that far.
Beautiful property reminds me of being in Kentucky, but killer visitor experience.
They got ATV rides, they got all kinds of cool stuff, but they're whiskey.
I've been a huge fan of their rides.
The sweet mash ride is excellent, but this is their sweet mash, straight bourbon, age
seven years.
So, get some decent age on their stuff.
Their master's still a bronze good friend, and he does an awesome job there.
So we'll see what it tastes like now.
It's seven years.
I know.
Brian is actually one that dropped these off.
Oh.
As he always brings his gifts, he's one that he brought is donuts and sandwiches, gas station
sandwiches.
I know.
I know.
And he's like, he got to try these things.
From a gas station, he's like, don't knock it to you, try it guys.
Oh, I love gas station food.
Oh, yeah.
You can get that.
It's funny.
Just gas station food yesterday when I was, it was early in the morning.
I didn't have a large dinner the night before, and so I was really hungry for breakfast the
next day.
And I'm sure enough going to barstown, I could go to the handy mart, get myself a Jake
sausage biscuit.
It's no fail.
It's best way to start your day.
It sure was.
No.
That and lipitor.
All right.
So here on the nose, what he got here, man, this thing is super fruity.
It's like going through a berry patch or orchard, like just tons of like ripe firt on
this one.
It does smell like fall.
Like in your, you're nice to me.
Yeah.
Some subtle spices and stuff there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
If you're, you know, it's, it's, we talked about like going to a farm or going to there.
It almost kind of reminds me of going to hubers.
Yes.
And we were star lights from and you kind of just, you get off the, you get off your,
your car.
It's not a bus.
If you get out of your car, you start walking to where everybody's kind of at and it just
kind of feels like that, you know, it's kind of like sweet in the area and right and sweet
wine.
On the patio, everybody's drinking, listen to music.
Somebody spilled a pitcher and they're not mad about it because the only cost of eight
bucks and get those little bees flying around the sweat bees.
That's right.
All right.
Well, here we go.
Let's go on with the taste.
Mm.
Mm.
It's got a great mouth filled.
Very coating.
It's got a lot of brown sugar.
Those orchard furs really good.
So it's more like a stewed pear I'm getting out of this or like baked a pear kind of
flavor profile.
And then moving into those nice like mulling baking spices, it definitely tastes like
a, like a, a fall dessert.
All right.
Yeah.
And I'd say you sprinkle a little bit of a, like an apple strudel on the side of there
and it's, it's there.
Now, you know, I'm always impressed with the types of tasting notes you can come up with
because you definitely put it in my head.
And this is 112.3 proof as well.
So definitely doesn't, doesn't taste that well.
No, I thought I was like 104 or something.
Yeah.
That's dangerously delicious.
And so give quick rating.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Nose thumbs.
Thursfurt, my whiskey.
I'm thumbs in.
Yeah.
You don't need me to tell you the taste.
Yeah.
Well, you always like, I don't lead you in.
I was like, you don't need me for this thumbs up.
Yeah.
It's really good and finished.
This is three thumbs up.
I mean, it's really, really solid to branch me proud way to go.
That's awesome.
Well, it's, it's fun to be able to see this happen for them because they've been, we
actually had talked about to, I talked about to their hospitality manager the other day.
Laura, by the way, so if you see this shout out to you, they release a new product every
single month.
That's why.
And how truth.
That is a lot of whiskey to take care of.
And I guess for people that are big fans, it's a lot of whiskey to collect as well too.
I just love it.
Coconut cream.
That's met.
What is it?
Toasted coconut rum.
Yeah.
That stuff's killer.
That's what it was.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, let's talk about some other things.
Just announcements.
Really quick.
What's happening?
We don't have a whole lot.
But I will put it this out here.
If you do love this show, you know, we would love you to do.
Just take a minute.
Go ahead.
Leave a review on Apple Podcast.
Spotify.
Hit that five stars.
Share it with a friend.
Honestly, that's the best way that we can continue to do what we do and help get the word
out.
You love this show.
Hopefully, other people like it as well.
But reviews go a very, very long way.
Or if you don't like it.
I was on the plane reading reviews and someone was like, you're a co-host on the CBD or
the THC one was just very like rude.
I guess, soon they were talking about Fred.
Probably.
Yeah.
So it was.
I was kind of checkling on the airplane, you know, you don't fault us for one episode.
I realized that we have almost 1,200 episodes.
So take a small sample size.
So if you're going to leave us a review, start off by listening to at least 150 episodes
and then leave your honest feedback.
Please.
Yeah.
I was listening to Whiskeycast.
I know.
I'm derailing everything.
Please do.
I'm listening to Whiskeycast in like five years.
And I was like, oh, let's see what Mark Lispy's up to.
He does a great job.
He's though, gee.
Yeah.
It was fun.
It's funny.
You say that then or other buddy Mike sent us an episode from Drew from over at Whiskey
low.
Oh, yeah.
Man, I turned it on and that voice, oh, people think that I have a soothing voice.
My gosh, you have never heard this man and his just ability to just like your eardrums
will just be palpitating just how it's like Jim Nance.
Oh, you're just like, man, gosh, yeah, you talk about Jim Nance wanting to do your
eulogy.
I want Drew to do mine.
Yes.
But I want him to do it on a microphone.
On a microphone.
All right.
And by the way, in the spirit of reviews as well, if you've actually come here to pursuit
and you've done the whole shebang, you have been to pursue spirits, you've been a trial
and error, I would love it, absolutely love it.
If you could also leave a Google review and help just promote everything that we're doing
because that is how other people find us, we're starting to realize now that people are
booking here and not because they've heard of the podcast, not because of anything else.
It's because they look around and they see, oh, my gosh, this place has 75 five star
Google reviews.
It's got to be good.
And it is good.
Yes.
And so that's that's one of the biggest ways.
So if you've been here, please, like it would be awesome for you to be able to do that because
it does help just the broader scope of getting the marketing and the word out of what we can
do in a grassroots, grassroots movement.
So I appreciate that totally.
Events wise.
So Ryan, no, not next week, next week, we're actually going to have Fred here.
That's not with us right now.
But Fred is going to be doing his book signing here at trial and error at 7 a 9 p.m. on March
11th.
So go ahead.
Get your tickets.
They're on event right.
There's just a few more tickets available.
But love to be able to see you all here.
I'll be here for a little bit too to make sure that everything goes just smoothing and
swimmingly as well as two.
And then on March 19th, Ryan, you're going to be in Chicago.
That's right.
I think that's Naperville or no, where is it?
You should probably Google my bad one.
People just just Googled Maloy's finest.
Blue Ellen, maybe you'll be able to find a Glen Ellen.
Glen Ellen.
Is that what that was?
Gosh, it's on Maloy's Instagram.
Don't take my word for it.
Ryan's been on Plains trains and automobiles for the past 24 hours.
I don't know where I'm at.
And if you have are part of our Patreon, you have seen him.
I don't know a delicate way to put this about how you've been getting honey out of a
bum hole.
Oh my gosh.
But it is quite comical.
Oh, yeah.
This has been the beta mic.
Since I got back from Houston, I've just been on honey duty and I'm just sticky all over.
Doing things to bum holes that I never thought I would do.
I mean, just fingers and apparatuses or going to bum holes just to try to get this honey
out.
Like, Trisha was there and he's like, what are he's like, what are you doing?
He's like, you're really using that college education on getting that honey out.
I'm like, I don't know.
Try and get this shit out of here.
It's been comical.
I promise you.
But the end product.
Go in Allen.
Go in Allen's art.
Yeah.
It will be better.
Yeah.
And then we're already starting to plan for a second half of the year.
I've got trip scheduled for Washington.
We're doing California.
Sarah's already looking at Missouri and a few different spots and so expect some more
pursued activations happening in your part of the country now as well too.
And as regard of looking for brain ambassadors for everything in pursuit spirits, we're still
looking and honey.
We need people in Dallas, Austin, Texas, Reno, Nevada, San Jose, or the Mountain View, California
area and Orange County, California, they get some life from Orange County.
So, well, I need to send it through me.
I run the program, Ryan.
They have to go through me.
I got to vet them.
I know.
Oh, there's really not much vetting.
I'll send you the deeds.
But if you love talking about whiskey and you got times on Friday and Saturday that
you can sit around for three to five hours and talk about it and hand out samples, we
want you on the team.
You're the perfect person.
You are the perfect person for that.
All right.
Let's go ahead and let's start diving in with some of the whiskey news.
And the first one to talk about is whiskey thief to stealing company and the Louisville
bats.
They're the, they're not moderately, moderately, okay, the reds, they're the the feeder
team.
Yeah.
Triple eight team for so they're one step below the reds.
Yeah.
There's a Louisville sluggish stadium right here in downtown Louisville, great venue.
But they have announced a multi-year partnership to enhance the fan experience at Louisville
sluggish field beginning with the 2026 season.
And this is going to feature the debut of the whiskey thief backstop.
It's a first of its kind, speak easy style bourbon lounge for minor league baseball located
behind home plate.
I wonder how far behind home plate they're going to go.
I mean, wherever the seats are, but I was going to say you think you got to like, you
know, like, give the umpire super handshake and you're like, you know, let me in here.
I thought it was going to be like you drink whiskey and then you have to like catch up
all behind like an area where you're like, anyway, that would be about it.
It's like Louisville chugger all over the game.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
But that's another game you can also look up additionally whiskey thief stadium club
will also open on the ballpark's second level, providing a bar and lounge with panoramic
views of the field and downtown Louisville and whiskey thief will also become the presenting
partner of Louisville mashers.
The bats alternate identity during three games in the 2026 season.
Both organizations are located in Louisville's Nulu district and whiskey thief has been
recognized as one of the first Kentucky facilities offer visitors at Louisville, you're
right.
How cool is that though?
That is very cool.
If you're in town like in your and you got, you know, bourbon thing is going on and
you're like, ah, what do I do at night?
Bat's games are absolutely awesome.
It's a great stadium at night too.
Like in like you mentioned gorgeous views of downtown, one of the best minor league teams
stadiums I've ever been to.
But this is awesome for our friend Walter whiskey thief.
He's just crushing like the local game.
I mean, he has like a ton of he's doing stuff with Ksar or Kentucky sports radio and,
you know, we're downtown or a Nulu location.
You know, obviously they have the one in Frankfurt, but they're doing awesome stuff.
And I think this makes sense because I love baseball and bats games.
Yeah, if you're in town, go check it out because it is a real, it's like a cool throwback
but modern stadium.
Yes.
Very, very much so.
And I also want to give a shout out looking here at the chat, watching the live stream
from our Patreon members that are watching this Todd Taylor.
I hope you're doing okay.
And you just know you just got out of heart surgery a few weeks ago.
Hope you're doing well.
Congratulations on having a good bill of health over there too.
That's all right.
We miss you.
Get back on the bottling line.
Not getting.
Just get.
All right.
What you're going here is give to 7.0.
You've heard about them before.
They are also sponsors and supporters of everything over here at Burden Pursuit.
They have announced their latest 2020 unicorn raffle set for Wednesday, April 1st.
And the grand prize is going to feature vintage bottles of Old Rip Van Winkle.
And this is a four year from 1988 paired with a modern Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year.
I didn't know that existed because I'm April Fools' joke.
I got it because it is.
It is.
It's April Fools.
I know.
It's true.
It's a vintage 86 proof expression and is a unique piece of urban history as was crafted
independently by the Van Winkle family prior to their 2002 joint venture with Buffalo
Trace.
So for $20 per ticket, you have a chance to win from the curated selection of 20 different
prizes, which include a Blanton's gold vertical spelling out, obviously, Blanton's and all
the different collectors.
And there's other allocated single barrel selections such as Rockle Farms, MRT-Lee.
The live drawing will take place on Facebook and YouTube and prizes will be drawn first
in which all tickets also get entered into other things, which he had let me know that,
you know, as one of the part of the grand prizes this year, you get to come on a barrel selection
and choosing your own double oak bourbon or double oak rye that will be a part of the
give to 7-0 raffles.
And I think there's up to 13,000 entries so far for that.
That's awesome.
That'll be sick.
That'll be fun to hang out.
Yes.
Especially my buddy, Eric over there, we go way back, he's seen me at my worst.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, it's okay.
The other guy named Kenny.
We vibe.
Kenny's great, too.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, they do a good job.
But that would be cool to get that four-year-old bottle.
That's a piece of history that I mean, that would be like, I would think, assume, I know it's
only four, but a really nice collector piece to like hold on to.
I mean, it's probably more rare than even some of the other ones that we see.
I was like, I think I've seen more of the black hawk from very, very old Fitzgerald than
I've seen of four-year family.
Exactly.
Yeah.
And this is our last news article, right?
There's not a whole lot going on here.
So hotel distilled, located here on Louis Vuitton's Whiskey Row, we've talked about before.
One of the best places, especially repeal steakhouse by far one of the best that are around
here as well, has announced the debut of the peerless distilling suite in partnership,
of course, with peerless around here.
The immersive branded experience integrates historical artifacts from generations of
peerless craftsmanship into the hotel signature suite accommodations.
Guests are also provided with custom in-room coffee created exclusively by peerless master
taster John Wadell, which, you know, he's the coffee guy.
That's right.
Right.
So, Stephen Bean.
Stephen Bean.
By the way, if you go to Buffalo Trace, you come here to Pursuit wherever it is, you'll
see Stephen Bean coffee.
That's all John.
That's all John behind the scenes, so help support him and his other kind of side project
over there.
Which also includes two signature cocktails featuring peerless at the hotel's repeal
oak fired steakhouse and two tickets for a guiding tour and tasting at peerless as
well.
And these are available for booking through Marriott.com.
I really hope there's a full cutout of John in the room in the peerless suite where you
can, because he's like the best dressed man and, and bourbon, I would take it one step
further.
I would say if you do this, you get to hang out with John and the longer you hang out
with John.
You see how much he drinks.
The more buttons come down.
That's right.
That's right.
More chest gets revealed.
Yeah, sure is, man.
That man had a glow up and he's, he's flaunting it all.
As he should.
Yeah.
Perfect chest for it.
It's always fun.
It's always fun.
I actually had, you probably didn't know about this.
I had a great also conversation with somebody who helps run everything at Marriott down
here in Louisville this way as well.
So you might start seeing the whole Shabang on Marriott.com relatively soon as well.
I love that hotel.
It's nice.
Oh, yeah.
I'm a Marriott person.
They got a cool speak easy there too, don't they?
Where it does still.
No, Marriott.
Well, there's, there's five different properties of Marriott down here, so that's here
downtown.
Right.
There's five different Marriott's.
You got to be there.
You got to be a little bit more specific.
The Marriott.
Like the Marriott downtown.
I don't know.
Yeah.
I haven't been to it.
Right.
I'm like you.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I do sometimes.
Check out our city.
You can't, you can't make it home.
Right.
You can't drive.
And you're like, well, I guess I'll just stay here tonight.
That's right.
Let's see.
Let's see.
What was, there was, there was used to be a hotel website where like hotel tonight.com
or something like that.
You could, it was only for like rooms are trying to get booked to the last minute.
Yeah.
I don't know.
That's another aside.
Trafalgo.
No.
Those commercials.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's go ahead.
Let's take a break.
And we'll be back with some bourbon release news.

Hey, everybody.
We'll back with some Burden release news time.
And the first one we're going to talk about is, ourself, why not, right?
Because we're super proud about this.
This is actually a year in development.
So, Pursuit Spirits has announced a launch of Pursuit United Sakura Blume Burden.
And if you have watched my Instagram video this past week, I missed,
and I purposely called it Sakura just to try to have some little fun with it there too.
And that was funny.
But this is a cast strength expression of a Japanese cherry wood finish of Pursuit United
Burden.
The result of a year long R&D project aimed at marrying the bold flavor and profile of
American Burden with a delicate, fruity floral notes typically found in maybe some Japanese
whiskeys as well.
It's bottled up barrel proof, 113.8.
The whiskey will feature, I'm not going to talk about those.
It's priced at $89.99 and it's going to have a different kind of rollout strategy.
So this is only available for P club members first and first access.
And then once everybody has access to that, then we will start rolling it out to
our, on the shelves here at Whiskey Row.
It will not go out to distribution.
I know a lot of our partners have asked for it, but this is part of the reason why we
started P club is because our wholesalers, our distributors said they don't want more
products.
So if you're one of those retailers out there and you want these kind of things, then we
have to be able to convince that middle tier that you all want these things as well too.
So, but this is again available exclusively for P club for the short time being and we're
bottling this next week, two weeks, 15th, 16th.
Is that not next week?
No.
Oh, okay.
I can't count.
Yeah, you're right.
It isn't two weeks.
That's okay.
So, yeah, super stoked for this one.
This one's more, I mean, Mizunara was obviously very interesting.
This one's, this one's freaking killer.
Like, you know, that soft delicate, floral, fruity, cherry type flow profile and then, yeah,
I can't even describe this one.
I mean, it's just, it's going to blow people's minds away.
It's fortunate for a few things.
One, a, or, I always go one, a, z, y, whatever, but you, you got a lot of these experiments
and you started playing with them and you're like, this is it, like, this is a great one.
And we were kind of first movers on it a little bit.
Yeah.
And I have a feeling you're going to see a lot of them.
A lot of them this year, but just know that we were one of the first.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I know.
I know it's like, all right.
Finally, we got something.
It's something new to us.
Yeah.
And then you start seeing coming whiskey and you're like, all right, we've got to get
that.
I know as much.
I'm not going to say it's the Ambarana train because it tastes way better than Ambarana,
but it will have, I feel like it's going to have a cycle like Ambarana where everybody's
going to have some release with it.
And then at some point, the cream will rise at the top and see which ones are actually
the best.
Yep.
Hopefully it's one of ours.
I think it will be.
We've tried it what 19 times.
That's right.
I know.
It's been more like, do we pull it?
Do we leave it?
Do we pull it?
Do we leave it?
All right.
Put it back in.
Put it back in.
We'll pull it.
Oh, all right.
Put it back in.
All right.
It's been a trial and error.
It needs more securitase.
That's right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's been fun though.
Burt Church just jewelry marks.
It's fifth anniversary happening on March 7th with the release of its C-shore Black
R eye whiskey.
This limited edition anniversary expression is crafted from C- Shore Black R eye green.
Didn't know that was a thing grown by Marsh Hen Mill on a disco island South Carolina
highlighting the still rooms commitments of local agriculture and distinctive mash
bills.
The whiskey is still age-em bottled and bluffton featuring a mash bill of 100% C-shore
black rye and 26% of that melted is coming from Palmetto, my 26th and that is melted by Palmetto
malt in St George, South Carolina as well. Age for four years, in 30 gallon barrels bottled
115.94 proof. Fewer than 300 bottles will be released, but I do not have a price tag on them.
I'm actually like their stuff. I mean, the birth church stuff, yeah. It's actually really solid.
Because you get these craps still, they're like, oh, you know, but their stuff is actually really
good. Well, we've now entered the age where, remember for the longest time we were doing this
podcast and whenever I said craft, people always said, did you say crap? Yeah. And I was like,
well, does it really, does it really matter? Like, it's all the same. But now I have to enunciate
and say craft, because craft is actually getting so much better now than it was 20 or sorry, 2020
time free. That's what I'm excited about. It's all these new craft distilleries and all the
really good products that are putting out because don't even wrong Kentucky bourbons amazing and
absolutely love it. But it's like, I've had it for 30 plus years and I just like these new
interesting flavors that you can get out of just non-traditional methods that aren't using
Kentucky. So I mean, it's what a time to be alive and whiskey. What a time. What a time. What a time.
That's you're right. This is a great time to be alive. Well, this is also what I actually saw
this bottle yesterday and I had a chance to try it. But I was like, yeah, I'm not really in the mood
for this. But who knows, we might get a sample list and be able to talk about it at a whiskey
cookie soon enough. Bullet distilling has released its first ever bourbon without rye. So this is the
Bullet Mesquite smoked malt Kentucky straight bourbon. So distilled in November of 2018, aged for
more than six years in Shelbyville, Kentucky, the whiskey replaces the brand signature high rye
with a Mesquite smoked malted barley. It consists of 65% corn and 30% of six Mesquite smoked barley
and then 5% malted barley. It's creating a profile focused on what they call barbeque pit flavors,
sweet vanilla rather than spicy notes and so on and so forth. But it is 93 proof and will be
available for $50. Interesting. Yeah, I'm interested to be able to try it. But there was a ton of stuff
in front of me yesterday. I just was like, all right, I got to pick and choose. I always get nervous
when they say smoked anything when it comes to whiskey. But this could be interesting. You don't
typically have that high malted barley, but maybe that they did that to kind of give it more
creaminess, softness to kind of settle down the smoke. I don't know. I'm 65% corn, 35% barley.
That's a very interesting Nashville. Love the innovation. See if it tastes good. Well, you were
just talking about how much you love stuff from the craft facilities. So this can be considered
craft. Sure. They're trying things. They're trying. This is what you wanted. I like, and this
is innovation from a large facility. Massive. I wouldn't consider them. But it is craft technique.
Yes. I'm just going to make you eat your words. I'm good at that.
Little based barrel craft spirits had craft spirits has launched a new limited edition 12-year
bourbon finished and toasted American oak. And this is a part of their premium red label series.
It's an expression blend of straight bourbon whiskey used to still eat Kentucky,
Indiana, and Tennessee featuring anywhere between 12 to 15 years old. This whiskey underwent a
secondary maturation and slow toasted American oak casks to enhance its sweetness. And this is
going to be bottled at 113.4 proof. And we'll have a suggested retail price of $160.
I think last year was a 12-year French oak. That one was freaking killer.
I mean, I love all of barrel releases, but that one just like blew me away. So I'm all,
I mean, they do such a great job there. I'm sure this is fantastic. Can't wait to try it again.
They're starting to roll out new things. So text my buddy Ned and get us the sample.
Yeah, what's up there, Ned? That's right. Don't forget about us over here in bourbon pursuit land.
We still talked to you. That's right. Yep. So Lerick and bourbon company, you've heard Greg
Keely on the podcast before. He has announced a release of the 2026 Rosewater bourbon.
This is a limited edition springtime offering for the Kentucky racing season. And this is
six years and is unique for being proofed with Rosewater brewed on site at the distillery.
And Greg had also talked about how has inspired during his following the military service when he
was in the Middle East and South Asia. So this Rosewater is produced in small batches using
rose petals and springwater brewed in a 10 gallon pot. And they don't use any extra extracts.
But the mash bill is a 75214 bourbon. And it's actually proofed with this Rosewater. And it
carries a suggested retail price of $69. I was a fan of this one. I know some people were like,
oh, it's too far. I thought it was fur. I thought it was fun. I thought it was unique and
different spring summertime. I thought it was killer. It's just like you could sit on your porch,
rocking your chair and enjoy this beautiful Rosewater. It's weird to the sound. It almost has
the sequer flavors to it. It does. Sure does. I mean, it sure does. You tell me if I'm wrong.
How about that? That's all right. That's what we're going to do. All right. So I'll finish with
the heaven hill stuff at the end here. And I'll skip over then. But another one is Jack Daniels
and McLaren, their master card and Formula One team have debuted a new limited edition Tennessee
whiskey to mark the beginning of the 2026 F1 season. The fourth annual release commemorates two
milestones, which is McLaren's 1,000th Formula One Grand Prix and Jack Daniels Distilleries 160th
anniversary. A key differentiator of this expression is that now it has moved to 86 proof. I believe
it was 80 proof 80 proof before. But yeah, because it's higher than the standard of Jack Daniels
No. 7. It's also wrapped in a different motif aligned with McLaren's 1,000th Grand Prix
celebration braining used throughout the season. And it's going to be available globally in F1
Grand Prix markets and select locations in 700 ml and 100. I'm sorry. And 1 liter bottles
and the 1 liter bottles have a suggested retail price of only $35. Oh well. You like McLaren's?
If I could afford one. Yeah, right. I mean, I'm not a super super super like a super car fan. Like,
I love my my Porsches. I love I don't own one. Maybe one day when this whole pursuit thing
works out and I can go through my second midlife crisis. My wife likes to think right now in my
first midlife crisis because I left my tech job. I'm trying to make this bourbon thing work. The
grays are starting to come in and I don't stop going and she's like, you're you have a problem.
Like I understand I do, but we're going to make this thing work. That's right. I'm in a mid I'm
definitely in stage one midlife crisis. I joined our men's basketball league at church and we have
our tournament this weekend. But I'm like, why am I doing this? I don't need to do a tournament.
I don't know, but it's it's been great. Got some black eyes, you know, some short shorts,
shorts, soar shoulders. Good God. We need some more of this hard truth. Seven-year bourbon
from what we need. But my son loves McLaren's. I mean, he's like obsessed with him. He thinks like,
I'm going to get him. He's like, my first car's going to be a McLaren. I was like, not for me.
It was like, I was like, you got to pay for this. He's like, I'm going to be a YouTuber. I was like,
good life. Yeah. Yeah. You and everybody else there. Yeah. Yeah. You had to have an angle.
I think all of our kids at some point because they all fall into that trap of watching things on
YouTube and go, oh, I could do that. Yep. It's the same thing as everybody looking at Fred Mennick
and go, oh, I could I could do this. And then you realize like, oh, wow, he's he's got a gift. He's
got a talent. And if you're going to be a YouTuber, there's got to be a reason why people want to
watch you. You just can't be boring. That's right. And that's what I told my kid when she thought she
had a grand idea. And I was like, I was like, let me watch you play for a little bit. And I mean,
10 minutes in. I was like, why would I watch you just playing? Yeah. I was like, what's your angle?
Great advice there, Kenny. Hey, yeah. It's it's my glass half empty.
How it's like, yeah, you got to break it to him sometime, right? It's like, it's like if you,
you got to have a hard lesson to learn. That's true. I wouldn't crush their dreams at this age,
but sure. I'm not trying to crush your dream. I'm trying to make her better. That's right. There you go.
It's the tough love. There you go. We have different types of parenting styles over here.
Jack Daniels McLaren. It's going to be awesome. It's going to be great. Yeah. Fantastic.
By the way, I learned this, you know what Grand Prix stands for? I do not. No, it's French for the
big prize. Oh, that makes sense. Yeah. And that's I know that I'm going to France. I'm listening to
I've talked about before. And obviously it's a much bigger podcast than ours called acquired. And
they're doing one right now on Formula One and F1. And they talked about, you know, how it
barely started. And yes, Grand Prix means the big prize in French. And everything was very
literal back then. What is Grand Tourism? I mean, I don't know, but I tell you what I grew up on
Grand Tourism. That was my game. When I saw that movie come out, I watched it. And I was just like,
man, this is this was my life because I would spend my time souping up GT Nese on GTRs
right in that game. Toyota super. Oh my gosh. Those were so I didn't even know like Neson NSXs
even existed until the game. And then now you would be able to see an NSX. I'd be like,
Hell yeah. Hell yeah. Speaking of those, I mean in Houston, there were a ton of those cars like
those straight racing cars. I was like, that just take a step back in town like 15 years ago,
whereas everything was in everybody's in the faster and furious stuff. It was like that in Houston.
There's pockets and there's markets that are like that. Here's the thing here in Louisville,
we don't have the market. There's we don't have the supercar market. There are people that own
plenty of Lamborghinis around here. Anybody that doesn't know there is a cave system that runs
underneath pretty much the entire city of Louisville. And that's where people store their
houseboats. That's where they store supercars. They store pods. All different kinds of things.
It's a great Christmas light show too. It is a great Christmas light show as well too.
All right. Two more stories. Let's keep going. The archdiocese of Louisville and
log still distillery have united to present a second and release of their
faithfully crafted series called the bishops blend. This expression honors the enduring bond
between the church and community across Kentucky and Tennessee. This edition uniquely brings
together Tennessee whiskey and weeded bourons carefully selected and blended after resting and
they call them their blessed rick houses. The bishops blend is bottled at 90 proof. We've
available 700 email bottles but I don't have a price point on it. They are. They're right across
from the trapeze mucks there and guess 70 they bless those rick houses. Do they really? Yeah.
That's amazing. I mean, I love, I'm a, I don't want to say the wrong word here.
I used to go to church a lot. I still, I guess, once you're a Catholic, I guess you're always a Catholic
but the great thing that we always love is like, hey, it doesn't matter. We still love the drink.
It's still part of the culture. Even during Lent and you have fish fries, it's all about fish and
beer. 100% just went to our fish fry on Friday last Friday. Then how was that mass yesterday?
My son read it, read it mass yesterday. So it was cool seeing that. But hopefully these bottles
will support the diocese of my tuition quits raising every year. So I appreciate that.
If y'all buy bottles, you know, that's not happening. Oh, yeah, yeah. There's, it's the church.
And it's any church, right? There's a lot of money that flows through it. But this is probably
something that that aligns with it pretty well. So it's interesting to see that the
archdiocese is a lovel and a distillery were like, you know what? Why not? Let's, let's do it.
Right. Wine be damned. Let's go with the bourbon. Let's go. Maybe I can't say wine be damned,
but who knows? All right. So are it? Well, no, there you got one more. You saw to get to the
Heaven Hill ones here. Okay. So Heaven Hill has announced the release of their Heaven Hill,
Deetsville 13 year old bourbon whiskey. This is a limited edition expression from around 17
different barrels matured on the third floor of Rick House, double A. The release represents one
of the final opportunities to experience bourbon fully aged at the historic Deetsville campus,
which is now being transitioning out of active maturation to regage only status over the next 12
to 24 months. So if you catch me, that means there no longer going to be just putting new
fill barrels at Deetsville. So the Deetsville site is unique as it is the only Heaven Hill campus
featuring tiered roof architecture and a sign that is you that utilizes a natural stack effort
to influence airflow and maturation. The bourbon is going to be crafted from a traditional
traditional mashable of their 78 10 12 carries an MSRP of $200, but this 13th
expression serves as the first entry into a multi year tribute to the Deetsville site with
the additional commemorative releases planned through 2027. Yep, I called it said all these
distilleries are going to start naming releases after distilleries after ruffles and we're like,
why don't you know more and so now. Yeah, Deetsville obviously, I mean, we've had a logic
crack barrel picks from there and that's all people cared about. I mean, is it a Deetsville
pick? Don't want it. Don't want it. Don't care. It's like it's like tier six at four roses,
but anyway, I'm excited about this bottle. I like Deetsville and those are the like coolest
looking rick houses. They just have like this nostalgia around them. And for anybody that was
on pursuit pollution, was it last year we went two years ago? Two years ago. Yeah,
perluse the last year we made a pit stop as we were traveling through to get to Bardstown.
And I said, hey, we're going to stop here real quick and everybody had no idea. It was kind of a
very surprise stop. And I said, take a left down here and we're going to go and stop at the
the old Samuels and the TW Samuels distillery. And once that happened, everybody's eyes kind of
lit up and they're like, is this is this Deetsville? Like, yeah, how cool is this? And so we got to
we have a group picture with everybody in pursuit pollution with the Deetsville warehouses behind us.
And then we blessed them. We blessed them. We sure did. We we did pours and we did. I think I
tell you a leak there. Yeah, getting bottled. That's right. And our last one here is that
Heaven Hill is also announced the 2026 release of its heritage collection 22-year-old Kentucky
straight bourbon whiskey, marking the oldest expression in the series since the 2022 debut.
This is also going to be the 78-1012 mash bill, nonchill filtered. And this is coming from 270
different barrels that were produced back in 2003 that were aged on the fifth and sixth floors of
Rick House Y. And fast forward a little bit. It's coming in nationally available release with
also international markets starting in March of 2026 with a suggested retail price of $320.
You go and you go and pony up for that one. I'll wait for the sample. You wait for the sample.
Here's the thing is they haven't other than a few parker's releases that they've fumbled on,
but the most part all of the heritage collections have been solid. They're amazing. Yeah.
They're no fail. I guess I shouldn't say this, but Heaven Hill is close to my heart.
I love their stuff. I think they just don't miss.
Is that the why we went with the 78-12 mash bill for our united bourbon?
Okay. Yep. Just making sure. That's what I grew up on.
Heaven Williams, Black Label, seven-year mixed up with ginger. That's great.
You in half a barstown probably are apparently drinking the same exact thing.
Yes. You either team, you're either team beam or team Heaven Hill growing up there.
I like both. I liked beamblock, but I had more family working at Heaven Hill.
So I got more product growing up. That's where all the Elijah Craig 23s went there.
That's right. 22s. I made a huge error and took it to a party and mixed it with Coke.
Sorry. Well, you only know what you know. That's right.
Maybe that's what it is. Yeah. But that's going to do it. That is this week in bourbon.
A lot of new releases. I feel like we're starting to hit that stride. It's only the beginning of March.
Sorry for tourist season. A lot of stuff happening. I came up to see all here come into Louisville.
But with that cheers everybody. We'll see you next time. Tudels.
