Ty Simpson's Draft Upside: Jets' Dilemma

On April 20, NFL teams are buzzing about this year's quarterback class, and the big talk is

Alabama's tie Simpson heading to the first round.

Scout say the league so desperate for signal callers that he'll get picked early, even

if he's not a top tier talent.

When Simpson's on point in rhythm, and not stuck in straight dropbacks, his accuracy

and decision shine.

That's a huge jump from two years back, and one NFC scouting director admitted he'd

be shocked if he slipped past round one.

Fans are split, though, and NFC coach floated the wild idea of the Jets grabbing him at number

two overall, passing on a star defender to fix their QB mess after Aaron, Rogers.

But not everyone's buying it.

An AFC exec shot it down hard, calling Simpson just the second quarterback off the board,

a one-year starter with only half a season of real flash.

He sees him sneaking in late first round at best.

With the Jets holding that prime pick, all eyes are on whether they chase the upside or

play it safe in a thin QB group.
