Tyshawn Archie Joins Aggies, Boosts Guard Crew

On April 25, Texas A&M coach Bucky McMillan is on fire in the transfer portal, landing

McNeese Point guard Taishan Archie.

This Houston native earned first team all-southened honors and tournament nods after a monster junior

year, ranking second in steals, ninth in points, and assists, and first in overall player

efficiency across the conference.

Archie kicked off at Tulsa, putting up 7.2 points, 1.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game

as a freshman in just.

14.6 minutes, his sophomore did lead to a move to McNeese, where the Cowboy surprised

everyone.

There, he started most games, logging 25.7 minutes and averaging 14.3 points, 2.9 assists,

1.9 rebounds, and 1.7 steals while hitting 36.9 percent from deep.

Archie slots in as a backup to A&M Stack R crew, bringing downhill drives, 3.0 pop, sleep

passing, and gritty defense that fits right.
