UCLA Names Bob Chesney New Football Coach

NFL Store is making news on March 17th. UCLA has named Bob Chesney as his new head football

coach following a tough 2025 season. The program put together a six-person search committee to

find the right leader and they landed on Chesney after a thorough process. One key member of that

committee was Adam Peters, the general manager of the Washington commanders. Peters had a big hand

in turning that team around, guiding them to the NFC championship in 2024 with hires like head

coach Dan Quinn and drafting standout quarterback Jaden Daniels, the NFL offensive rookie of the year.

Peters knew right away after just one interview that Chesney was the perfect fit for UCLA.

He praised the coach's potential to elevate the Bruins quickly. Chesney made his debut appearance

at a UCLA basketball game against Indiana at Polly Pavilion, where fans got their first look at the

new leader. He expressed strong confidence that the team has everything needed to start winning right

away. The Bruins kick off the 2026 season on the road against California on September 5th.

Their first big 10 match-up comes soon after, hosting Purdue at the Rose Bowl on September 19th.
