0:00Hello everybody, welcome to UGA Sports Live. My name is Rodin DeBulsi. I'm joined by Jed May and Jeremy Johnson. I've not had them on the shows very much. They do their own show where they basically talk about the vault at UGA Sports.com, which is where we have all of our recruiting content. And these are our two recruiting writers along with Harrison and of course Rusty. And everybody will write about recruiting. But these guys are the guys that have something every day about recruiting. And we're not going to talk a lot of recruiting today. This is mainly to talk football because they also cover the University of Georgia football team. And they were there this past Saturday. And I want to get their comments. And basically introduce folks to them again and also get their tape because they were in that stadium. Apparently it wasn't too hot. It was fine. Nobody cramped up. I don't know what it on the wire. I was playing about the heat. I was fine. And I've had some folks.

1:02I made a snarky comment about the fact that the game was at three o'clock. And you know, some people said, well, he looked at three clocks better than noon. I'm like, no, several would be better. But if they've done it seven, there is a chance it could have rained. But you can, you always know it's going to be hot at three in the first game. You don't know, it's going to rain for me. I thunder. So anyway, it's just not going to get into, not going to worry about the whole thing. The next game coming up against Western Kentucky 1245. And I expected this to be a much tougher contest than Tennessee State. But now I'm kind of rethinking. I know, I mean, I know the coach is there. I know they have the talent there, but they got dropped by Nevada. And that kind of shocked me. Am I should I have not been surprised or should I have been surprised? I'm kind of confused guys because this, I've been telling people all year, Western Kentucky good coach, better players. This is not a game to, you know, just kind of walk through. I think more people are concerned about what they're going to wear than the team. And before I was like, don't overlook Western Kentucky.

2:06Now I'm like, you can overlook Western Kentucky. Yeah, I mean, it surprised me because it was, I mean, it was bad. It was what it was 45 to seven, I think. And then they got beat by Nevada, who was an underdog to, I think it's Montana State this weekend. You know, that's one of the best teams to FCS, FCS, but it's still an FCS team. So, yeah, I mean, I think even when Western Kentucky is at its best, this is a game. Georgia should still win handily. But, but yeah, it certainly has a little bit of a different feel, I guess, with what we saw with the weekend. But, you know, it's like Kirby's Mark said, I guess yesterday, you know, it's to be sick to get better and other stuff. They can do better. You can start, you know, you can start by, you know, not sending out two players. We're in the same number on a field goal. That would be an improvement, not dropping a snap on a field goal would be an improvement. So, they're stuck to clean up always. There always is. But, and even, you know, a, a, not quite what they have been, Western Kentucky team, I still think is a pretty solid step up

3:09from, from what we saw from Tennessee State. So, we'll see. No, I mean, did that Tennessee State team is bad, but we can only talk about a Jersey number and a bubble snap. I mean, that's the only two things you can really pull away from that. Okay. Maybe Joseph, Jonah, Ajanez hands to the face twice. And again, I said on the second one, I said on the watch on the post game show, I don't think that that guy had a chin strap on on the second one, because that helmet just popped right off. And, and that's neither here or there. But, Jeremy, I think that Georgia this past weekend, we don't need to dive too deep into the Tennessee State. How, whether they're good or not, because it's obviously is, you know, not on the same plane as Georgia, but Georgia goes out and drops 60 burger on them. Well, like they should do. That's, that's what you expect. And Georgia doesn't normally do that. I would, I would expect the Georgia's getting the 40s and then just all off the dogs. And they, they didn't. And I'm like, great. You can't call the statement when, but it kind of felt like

4:14they made a statement. Yeah, that was kind of my takeaway is that, you know, this is it. To me, these first two games of mindset, mindset game checkers for Georgia, because it's, I mean, like you said, there's not a lot of it. I mean, they lined up and just beat Tennessee State something. In some places, they just had guys who are bigger, stronger, and faster, and they won their matchups. And, you know, I don't, I don't think we'll see as much of that this week against Western Kentucky. I do think Western Kentucky has a few guys that are capable, playing at that power five level, and they probably have at some point. So I think you'll see a little more even matchup person L wise, but I think it's a 12 o'clock game. You're wearing all white for the first time. You just be the team by 60 points. There's always a reason in the world for Georgia to be flat. Come noon on Saturday. And if they're not, to me, that tells me, hey, Georgia is focused and they're hungry, you know, because I think that was the case on Saturday. They just told Tennessee State, we're bad. And we're going to prove it. We're bad. And they did

5:14it from the starters all the way down to the fourth and fifth year. And guys, they got to play. And I think that to me is indicative. Hey, that's what Georgia did in that 2021 and 2022. So you never had to worry about Georgia being flat or if they had an opponent from them that they felt worried, fear, you know, they made them look inferior. And I think that's where we kind, this is where we kind of figure out that about this Georgia team over the next couple of weeks. Well, we saw that. That's your like, you know, martial game was kind of, you know, a little bit, you know, it was dominant, but it was a little bit of a sleepwalk. The Austin P thing was a disaster in the first half. Like, you know, you look at what the number one group on both sides of the ball did. The offense scored five touchdowns and had like one third down. Like they did whatever they wanted to defense. And I think I had five straight three and outs. The number one defense. Like it, that's, that's what you're supposed to, that's what you're supposed to do. But it's also like, I can we've seen, you know, you have one laps on, you know, a corner lets a guy get inside of

6:20many picks up 12 on a slant or you know, a guy miss a guy breaks for eight and sets up second and two when you convert from there like they gave up nothing in the offense missed, you know, missed assignments on nothing. Like those first five positions, like, yeah, you know, the, the, the late in the second quarter got a little sloppy and, and you know, it slowed down some the second half when you put the backups in in the fourth quarter, especially, but those what the starting group did was and again, you, you, you consider your opponent and whatever, but yeah, that was as dominant, that was as dominant of a performance, I think is you could possibly have because to not give up a first down and to score five touchdowns on, you know, their average in what 16 yards of play at one point like that's, that's as dominant as you can have in light gerium, you said, you come out and you're like, God, man, it's so hot. Like I, like I just want to go, I just want to get this over with and you know, get some sleep, get the recovery. I want to get out of this heat. I want to get to half time, like, they came out and just club Tennessee State over the head for, you know,

7:24I know, they came out, they did it again. We're bigger, faster, stronger, we're going to show it and they played to that potential. They played to the standard and I'm with Germia, it's kind of like getting your mind right, you know, show what you're into, what, how are you going to approach this season? No one that you're going to win and we've seen this before. George is just kind of pleased. I don't say they played down to their opponent, but they play how they're kind of supposed to and then they kind of take their foot off the gas, but they didn't until the second spring got in and the second string, those guys were like, hey look, now's my chance to make a name for myself. You saw, Kenia Boko out there just crushing people, Jackson is like, look, I want to be the starter, you know, I'm going to come in and do my job. Malachi Tolliver comes in for Drew Bobo, he's like, look, I started at center last year when you guys were out, you know, when Drew was hurt, I want my job. Talent Taylor's like, look, the last thing you need to remember about me is dropping a pass and I haven't been able to live that crap down for a year. You know, be the ball coach

8:25and let me show you what I can do. Nate Frazier is like, look, I'm supposed to be the leader of this team. He had four carries, three of them went into the Inzo. I mean, I don't know what you could say about that. People like question Gunner Stockton, he goes, Gunner Stockton, he goes 15 and 16. You know, it's like, I just felt like there's a lot of pent up expectations that these guys are like, look, we've been dying to get out here and show people that we're not a one and done playoff team. I deserve my spot. I deserve my NIL deal and I'm going to play as if this were Ohio State, as if this were Tennessee, as if this were Ole Miss, we're going to play it now. Too bad the guy across from me can't match that. That any of my faults, you know, I'm not here to make him look good. So they attacked it and I kind of expect the same. And if you see that in back to back weeks, like you said, not playing down, not having the off-the-piece stuff, assignments

9:26hit. I mean, so we're just watching the video clips there. And when you look at the two number threes, okay, the two number five. If you see three on offense or three on defense, something puns going to happen. If you see five on offense or five on defense, something good's going to happen. Zero. We see zero coming off the edge on defense. Somebody's going to get their head kicked in. Hand of number zero has the ball. I mean, what he had 60, uh, so we had 60 punt return yards. That's six or stowels. What a difference that would be. And again, I don't know that you can do that against every team, but and then 20, another 20 something yards on kick return yards. Georgia with a special teams, you know, a strong returner, which you had kind of in Zach Ranch. It makes them a much more dangerous team. The offense starts from a better field position. Georgia's field position was great and they took advantage of it. I really think that,

10:27you know, somebody talked about sokobe letting one of the punts go behind him. Coach Donan on our watch long show said, you know, he might have been told that. Let it go because we're getting too good field position. We're not getting enough snaps on offense. We're getting it and getting out. Let's let's back it up and try driving. Because that's what it was. It always starts from the gunner to get more passing yards if he's going to make the houses. If he's going to get in my to New York, there was a there was a stop that went through my head that said, hey, Georgia almost is scoring a little too quickly to actually learn anything about like if you're scoring two plays, you don't really get any rhythm. You don't get reps. Hey, you go scoring and then you turn around to come back out of the score. Like you played four snaps. I mean, I don't even know if they played more than I hadn't seen a snap count. I don't know if anybody played more than 20 snaps anyway. But like that's like you can't really get it in a rhythm and you look up in week three. It's like bird game one again for you. So yeah, I didn't even consider that. But I definitely thought that in moment, hey, Georgia's like really scoring really quickly. You're like, what are they going to get a rhythm and get that some playoff? It's first that first touchdown. That's three plays, I guess.

11:31That's all about. It was three plays. And then that Elias Williams touched down where he shows what he can do. Remember, you know, we kept saying last year, throw it to 10, which is hard because there's, you know, you want to you want everybody to get the ball. But he's just such a freak and they're like, okay, you know, all the guys that had to sit behind a better player last year. Right? You know, or an upperclassman, they all got their chance to shine and they did. So, I was very impressed. I'll say one thing about this, this team that I noticed though, it's just talking to them as it's immediate days and talking to them in the preseason. They have a lot of swagger. They that it hasn't been something that they've had necessarily, you know, over the last couple of years. I think this team enjoys celebrating success. And that's something that to me is underrated. I mean, look at Craig Daniels there. First down who's over there. I tell him, tell him, a little dab from up. Like, that's like little things like that that kind

12:32of tell me that this team expects to be really good and they enjoy being really like, look, going to stop in there. Like, like, Jayda Redill is a third tight team right now on Georgia's depth chart technically. But like, that's like, that is that is something that you look for and a team is going to be really good. Sometimes guys is like, well, I didn't get the ball. I'm going to go back to the sideline. I saw it all across college football this week that, you know, people don't really enjoy each other's success, but that's not a problem with Georgia. So, I think that's something one a little nugget that I kind of took from this team this weekend. That's what I'll say about last year's team and this year's team is because Kerber will say, you know, we've got good leadership. And that's not like such a coaching cliche. It's like, you know, that's like, you know, we need to execute better. Well, of course, you need to execute better. Everybody needs to execute better. But we've we've seen Georgia teams that, you know, had a lot of clicks in them, you know, this group, I don't say this group doesn't like that group, but you know, these guys hang out and those guys hang out and these are the upperclassmen who were on weren't getting an IEL and here,

13:37the young guys coming in getting an IEL. Here's the group that was part of that, you know, group that won the SEC title and here's the group that came in after them and didn't, you know, and there's, you can't have 105 people and not have clips. And then in Georgia's case, they got 120. You know, they got the guys grandfathered in. But in an era where you add nine to 15 players who went somewhere else who didn't make the same decision that you made out of high school, it didn't come to your school originally. The fact that Georgia's transfers in and everybody checking each other's pockets, what'd you get? What'd you get? What'd you get? In the NIL transfer portal era to have teen cohesiveness would seem to be damn near impossible. You know, it's just that's what you need to do. Because you've had jobs elsewhere where you're like wondering what everybody else gets paid and maybe not all you guys all don't go out after work and go have a

14:37beer together, you know, it's like you go do your job, you go home and you're kind of looking at maybe you're looking at the one as looking for something else. These themes to your point, Jeremy, are they root like health for each other. It's not just the position, mate. I mean, everybody knows that Jayden Riddell, you know, he's been behind, you know, Oscar Dell been lost and lucky and he's had other guys that he had to wait behind. He was there, you know, for I think Park Mountain for a final year. And, you know, he and Colton Heinrich, those are guys that have been in Georgia for a while. And when he got his first touchdown, the whole sideline went berserk, you know, when talent Taylor score hits, everybody knows what he's been through. Those guys went nuts for him. When the Ryan Montgomery comes off after throwing that 60 yard ball, everybody went nuts and, you know, the reaction from Jeremy Bill. When he scored, I was just about say, Junior Bell, who lost his brother, those guys, you know, and Nate Frazier losing his dad, he talked about the sport he had. I'm like, look, and that's why I was very disappointed last year that Georgia's team wasn't better. It's

15:41the same issue I had with Mark Rick. I liked Mark Rick as a coach, but really as a person. And I wanted him to win a championship, a for Georgia, but mainly to show that good guys can finish first. You know, good guys can win. And you know, he's a good dude and he deserves it. I thought last year's team, these are all these guys, love each other. These guys are, you know, supporting each other. I want them to win for that, you know, and I'm thinking, okay, what's the same guys? A lot of buy-in, you know, even from the guys who came in later, a lot of leadership from the former guys who didn't come to Georgia, really. And you, it's, they're easy to root for us by point. And they don't have those clicks or they, those skull sessions have been invaluable. Good. I was going to say, like, you know, even if you look at the guy, like so many of these all the top contributors basically have been and happens for a long time, but even the transfers you brought in, like, okay, Isaiah Canyon transfers in from Georgia Tech. He's from Warner Robbins. He played with Isaiah Gibson, he played with Roshan, and he knows these guys in the state of Georgia, Calil Barnes, played at North O'Coney. He knows

16:46a lot of these guys from the Metro Atlanta area. So like, even the, the newcomers that you're counting on have got relationships. They know these guys, these other guys on the team, and that's huge. Because, you know, Calil Barnes is, is that's a huge position. Isaiah Canyon is being counted on to be a playmaker in his offense. And you can't have, you know, you don't need those guys feeling like the new guys for, you know, their first eight, nine months on campus. And, and for maybe, you know, it looks like they have assimilated really well and really fast to a group that's, again, you've got all the, I gunner stocked in and Drew Bobo have been here working together for, for five years. Like, Jayne Redell has been here for three, I guess, loss and like he's been here for four, like, so all these top guys aren't as green as been here for five. So many of these guys have been here for so long. It drew, you know, to feel like an outsider when you get here, but they, they, you know, I guess, and I'm sure that part of the betting process when you're bringing in

17:46transfers is how they're going to fit in the locker room. But those two in particular seem like they've, you know, they've hit, they've hit the ground running really fast. Yeah, we sometimes get the call about, you know, it's kind of the same one that you were with me in Indianapolis when we're talking to the scout guys there. Maybe, I don't know, I just remember talking to one of the NFL scouts and they, because they'll ask you about, hey, what off the record? What issues does this can have? What does he, what was the, the story behind this injury? What was the story behind this arrest? What was the story behind, what was he, what kind of teammate was he? And the last question like that, sometimes we get asked about some of the transfer portal guys are like, you covered this guy once, he liked, you know, and they think you'd fit in and they have avoided some guys because they're like, no, he's just a, he is a mercenary. I don't think you'll fit in. I think, you know, or his agent is

18:46too damn pushy and wants some crazy stuff, you know, that would make him appear different than the rest of the group is like, you know, and yeah, they're doing some great, I mean, some expensive things for some of these guys, but at the same time, it's like, if this guy doesn't have, you know, because sometimes like, well, he can't do Monday practices or he can't, he needs his family flown in the first class or something like that. Like, nah, I didn't, not even the vibe we got, brother, that just don't, just don't fit us. Yeah, he's really good. We'd love to have him, but he just doesn't fit. And sometimes you get that phone call. So, anyway, I'm getting a little, a little far-fuel there. I do want to add a little bit to that, because it kind of like, I'm sure Jen has experienced this as well on the recruiting side of things. I mean, Georgia is probably one of the programs that you can, you can see what a Georgia guy looks like. I mean, it's not necessarily just the talent and usually their guys are really Tracy and they're dominant on the field, but then like, I like to go to school and talk to a guy.

19:51I can tell pretty quickly just from how many times I interview a lot of these guys, high school kids and they all share this one or two traits, well, they can easily fit into a rocker room and they're not, so they're not me guys. I mean, they may be really good. Like, Kim Manspell was a five-star run-back, but I've never heard him two days on board yet. And he's probably one of the best running backs on the planet right now in high school football, but he's not a self-promoter guy. So that is as important as the skill set for Georgia. And I think you're starting to see that kind of in that rocker room that pain. And in this era of basically an NFL version of college football, like you, I guess it's invaluable because in football, you can't really have a, like you have to count on someone else to do their job for you to have success. That's just the way the game is. So I think that Georgia has really nailed that science. It's probably better than anyone. That reminds me of the, like, you know, thinking about some of the guys that transfered away,

20:53like, 80 Mitchell, you know, and the reaction there, going back looking, says, yeah, I'm with you. Sometimes you just talk to a kid, you're like, okay, that kid's coming here. I knew Jaylen Walker would fit in Georgia within the first four minutes or first, you know, 14 seconds of his interview. I remember talking to a kid down in the tifton, the lineback. I'm like, that kid's never coming to Georgia. It's never, you know, there's, when you look at the, look at Kindle and then look at the Sony Michelle and, you know, just, just think of the runbacks like him on spell, you know, like Kenny McIntosh. Those guys are just bleeds for Georgia, you know, Bo Walker, you talked about what you did, Bo Walker's coming to Georgia. You just, you know, now, will it work, does it work out for everybody? No, but they have that Georgia mentality and they come and they, they're like, yeah, practice is going to be god awful. And a lot of guys leave,

21:57but a lot of times when you see these transfers out, because guys hate the way Georgia practices. It is not fun. It makes them better, but they freaking hate it. And other places practice hard, Georgia practices brutal. And they're like, hey, I'd go to get paid a lot or get paid the same, go do it somewhere else. Be easier. Plus, my path to seeing the field is easier. So some guys take the path at least resistance, some guys stay, and it doesn't help them because, you know, they're still going to be better guys ahead of you. But if you get recruited over and, you know, your years in the program don't get you on the field, well, you were sure as hell we're going to make it into the NFL. So that's just the way it is. So, I'm with you, I mean, I know exactly what you mean by something. You talk to a guy and you know that he is a Georgia guy. And I hate to say that it, because it comes across sounding fan-like, but you can just tell by their demeanor the way they, uh, waiting, answer questions, their mindset, whether or not they're going to fit in with what Kirby's looking for. And I bring all that up and

22:59expand upon it just to say there's a reason that this team, you know, that could be full of mercenaries, transfers, and the guys trying to get the biggest deal, want to play for each other. And you saw that translate onto the field Saturday guys throw their bodies into blocks to spring a guy down the field that will matter in Oxford. That will matter at Arkansas and, uh, 10 days. That was going to matter when they had ever South Carolina, you know, in Tuscaloosa. Now, well, you, they win them all. But it won't be for one guy's going, well, you know, that, that ain't my book, you know, or I'm not going to run through this guy. I'll let the other guy make the tackle. That, that part ain't going to happen. So, uh, everybody, the old object of sport fence is there's undoubtedly in a measurable trait that you can feel from you, G.A. guys. Yes. And it's hard to put into words. And that's what I'm trying and failing to do right now. So feel bad about it. I, uh, real quick, I do

27:23when you're up in the press box and they kick off at 1245. What does this successful Georgia versus Western Kentucky game look like to you? I mean, I think it kind of goes back to what Jeremy said earlier, like don't come out and play with your food. This is a team that is better than Tennessee state, I think, um, but still someone you should have no trouble with and don't, you know, don't, don't mess around, but you could continue to be that team that is that is focused that wants to dominate that expects to dominate. And, um, and, you know, I think specifically, obviously more, um, more shots down the field, we saw some of that last week. We saw, God, right? I mean, in Jeremy, I'm sure y'all remember too, like that first week last year, where everybody was like, what's with all the screens? Why can't we throw the ball down the field? Did Gunner throw the ball more than five yards on the field? And we saw some of that last week. Now we saw some balls over the middle. We saw some, um, even though there were still the first three,

28:23the first play of the first three series being screens was was very funny. I got a kick out of that, but we did see some some balls down the field. I think we see a little more that and then defense, it's, you know, your first team defense I'd given up a first down yet. So I can't I keep that going probably not, but, um, I think it's more continuing to get pressure on the quarterback. Can you continue to affect the quarterback? Get sacks, get pressures, flush them out the pocket as the level of competition goes up. I think we saw Chris cold do it. So I'll be getting to it. Do we see more Camari Brooks this week? I guess we could still see Chase Linton maybe this week. So pressure on defense and more explosives on offense and just overall don't, don't, don't turn this into another Austin P game where it's what was 10 to 7 or 14 to 10 or whatever, whatever stupid score it was at halftime. Dominate like you should and go into SEC play feeling good about yourself. Yeah, I'm with Jan on it. He, everything that he said, I'm probably going to echo.

29:27I would really like to see Jordan's past verse. I want to see Jordan create past verse what I have going to use Chris Cole as the past verse injector. I mean, yes, we know Chris Cole's probably the best athlete on the field at all times on George's defense, but like, I don't, I don't know that you can count on him to be the guy that is your only past verse. And I want to see with Gabe Harris and Quinn Tavish Johnson and Ken from Mario Brooks and all these guys that they're counting on from PJD. And I want to see if they can create pressure on their own without having to use blitzes and and and and scheming those guys open. I think I think they need to build that confidence because I think that's going to matter for them at some point this season. George also has my creative turn over it, which I think, you know, kind of goes hand in hand with how how high of a silliness team can have because when they were really good in 2021 and 2022 and even in 2023, they had turnovers. They created turnovers, they created sacks. But those things kind of go hand in hand and you know, Tennessee State's quarterback, so it's created a lot of things to

30:27get them on out of this hands fast. And I think they knew hey, if we just sit here and let these guys just run free, they're going to get to us eventually. And that that has to be something that has to come along for Georgia. And I think Georgia needs to have KJ bold and be a guy that goes and take the football ball away. I think the reason you go and get Calil Barnes because because Calil Barnes is the guy who takes the football away. He was that way in high school. He was that way in his first or years at Clemson. And he I'm assuming they would hope that he's going to be that at at Georgia. And Rashad Degan got a lot of snacks last week. And that's what he did. He did in high school. He led the state interceptions as a sophomore or junior. He's another guy that takes the football away. So everybody that is on the football field are take turn over creators. So you know, you start to wonder when that's going to happen for Jordan. I think this week they have to come away with a couple just to just show a we can take take the football away in that and and and create some. I mean, obviously the offense will be what it is. But I think we get an SEC play that's going to be the key.

31:28And I just checked in 2021, 22 and 23 Georgia was net positive in turnovers. My three or four, two or something like that last year they ended up dead zero. So for everyone they got take away. And I'm with you there. That's a big one. I would like to see. And here's the the thing sometimes you don't get that interior pass rush because they're not supposed to. You know, other times you're like Elijah, I know you can fold that guard in half and blow up the pocket. Trace got let him lose let him go let him do it. You know, and but sometimes you know, they're they've got a different assignment. Their job isn't always to go straight at the QB. They've got stuff they have to do. So I'm like, let's see if to your point about not getting you know, get it with Chris Cole. Because when Georgia is really good is when they don't when they can affect the quarterback without an additional without additional personnel. When they can do it with their line, you know, with their

32:30edge and they and because that lets them sit back, you know, and just kill the coverage. It just smothers up. Like if you can get to them, you know, without having to bring an extra body, holy crap, then the sky's a limit and then they're going to make mistakes and then you're going to be a good field position. And then, you know, you give Gunner and I mean, you saw I love that little screen that Johnson bones just took off. But like I I'll call that screen a thousand times, you know, I love it. The first screen that we saw went 12 yards. I'm like, why would you not call that again? And I thought, you know, especially that talent, Taylor, uh, played to the to the right. And then the toss to Elias Williams, I don't think that was a very vanilla offensive play call. I thought they played, you know, they've showed some stuff. And I've always thought if you're going to run it, yeah, you don't want to put too much on film, but at the same time, you need to run the

33:32plays that you like against a real team so that you get, you know, you can practice it against somebody. So I thought there was a good combination of we're going to the stuff that we haven't done as much of. We're going to try it and perfect it so that we can run it again against Western Kentucky and then have it. Everyone has actually executed this perfectly by the time we get to Arkansas. We've got it down. At the same time, you need an old film so it works better. That's my point. So it's like, oh, well, we're hiding everything. I'm like, well, if it's to your point, if it's the first time you do it, then, you know, you might do it wrong. And now you're doing it against old Miss or you're doing it against Texas in the SCC championship. Why the hell did you wait and do it then? And we see that sometimes when you bring a new body in, I don't know, maybe it, uh, colder and something goes off or you have two guys go out with the wrong jersey number on, you know, or you get somebody jumps off sides or they hit the wrong

34:35assignments. So I like that, you know, we saw that. I want to see more of that this weekend. And I'm not saying show us the whole playbook, but, you know, formations. There's those fantastic corporate motions that had like three different outcomes on the back end of it. I'm like, this is nice, you know, um, and the fact that they get 27 true freshmen. And how many, how many guys the Georgia sign last year? Very good. Yeah, let's close. Maybe 20 miles. Who didn't play? That's, I was thinking 29. Well, we know Jamar Lee riddled in the, uh, transfer, but he might, they might have been holding him out. Bryson Beaver did not play. Bryson Beaver. Uh, didn't he? And then it went for lack of time. He had four QBs out there. Yeah, the Trace yields playing. I don't believe Trace yields played. Think so. That might be it. Yeah. So anyway, the fact that you signed, let's see, third, you played 27 in game one. You know what that does to all the guys are trying to recruit

35:41right now? Like, hey, we're, because a lot of these guys know I'm going to the University of Georgia. I'm not going to see the field for two years. Now they don't want to admit that, but you know, there's, there's, that's in the back of their mind. Uh, but now you can be like, look, we got everybody on the feet, you know. I think that was, and if you can get them, I doubt think it all 27 on field again, but let's say you get another 17, 19, 21 of them out there again this week. Those guys go, the continuity of that builds, the, uh, camaraderie, the fact that, hey, I played my first two games and then, um, when the portal opens up, they're like, no, yeah, I've been on the field here. It's not one of those guys that I've never touched the field of the University of Georgia, except, you know, during the dog walk, you know, or standing on the side. Like, no, I got in. I got meaningful plays. You know, I think that's, I, I, I, I just think it's very strong to build that, uh, uh,

36:42uh, confidence in these young men and let them show what they can do. Practice is get tougher when you guys, we have experienced guys too, I mean, yeah, oh yeah. Yeah, like you, like you guys have played now, okay, so I know what Saturday, football is like, I'm on practice on Thursday. I'm going to compete with the number one guy. He's, he's experienced, but not much more experienced than I do. So, I mean, that, that, that, is a beautiful football team. Um, did we not do the snap count this week? Right this week. All right, we got to get the snap count done. Grades. I did grades, for sure. I know you did the grades. I think we left off the snap count. Well, we will get that in there because that's, that's really helpful. This one, I mean, I shout out to Jed May for hosting all the grades of, uh, 85 95 players. I was like, I did not realize how long this was going to take. There's a lot

37:45of 18 grades to put in. But, uh, but yeah, no, it's, but it's weird because like you looked at some of those grades and you're like, all right, you know, and I don't know how PFF grades work. I've, you know, I've never really looked at it at a time, but like, like Elijah Griffins overall grade was like 48 or something. And you're like, okay, well, you know, I, you know, I didn't sit there and watch the film. I was like, well, when he was on the field with the first scene defense, they didn't give up a first down. So, you know, he couldn't have done too bad. So, you know what I mean? Like, so, I don't know. It was, it's interesting to look at some of that stuff. Because, you know, there was a lot of, um, because I remember looking, there was his and there was somebody else's on defense. Where I was like, whoa, that's a lot lower than I would have thought. But then, you know, you look at Nate Frazier's and Nate Frazier's got like a 93 and it's like, well, okay, yeah, four carries and, you know, 70 yards and three touchdowns. So, it makes sense. It's a lot harder. He ran straight and he's growing. Yeah. I mean, it's, yeah. So, it's, it's interesting to look at for sure, but yeah, I, that, uh, that took a lot of a lot more time than

38:48I thought, you know, trying to watch Clemson LSU, you're watching Western Michigan get screwed and you're trying to, you know, you're putting all those grades in, you're like, oh, man, this is a lot. You're looking at these little numbers on the screen, my eyesight's degrading. So, yeah, it's, it's interesting. It's interesting to look at. It's, yeah, it's funny when you're, you know, you got a game like that. You got, you know, 85% of the rosters is getting him getting the grades. So, yeah, I like that, um, and sometimes with the grading, I have very much disagree with it. Other times, I very much agree with it. It depends. Everyone's got their own opinion. Uh, the way they do it, you know, they look at the play, you know, what was the assignment? How did he do? And yeah, you can, you can blow your assignment, but then all of a sudden, somebody else gets a strip sack that goes for a touchdown and you're like, yeah, we did great. It's like, yeah, we did you suck. That's what, like it worked here. You guys do great work. I suck, but I get all the credit. So, that says it's great for me. So, if we give out grades for UGA sports,

39:48it's like A, A, A, D, but overall, we got to be plus. So, I love it. That's all, but that's one of the reasons I love the snap count is because sometimes you just don't realize how much you got to get in or how little, you know, wait a minute. I got one. I had 13 snaps. Yeah, they pulled them. Georgia pulled those tackles pretty damn quick. I don't think the earnest green may have played the first three series, maybe four, and then after half time, it was like 13, 14 snaps. Yeah, and one, one guess, he ends up moving the right guard and playing a little bit so he got some more snaps than Ernest did, but the labor. And I'm completely fine with that. Ernest, you know, was throwing people around. Okay, we know what he can do. Every snap is a potential injury. So, take him out. I know he wants to be out there, especially when it's easy. You can't just use him when it's hard. You want to get that 92 on PFF. I understand, but at the same time, I'm like,

40:52you had a half, five years with the injuries. Let's let these other guys get some work. Plus, you know, just, I mean, you had everybody in the office of wine got hurt last year or something. So maybe I'm a little gun shy, if he will. You don't need to be out there. Let's let's let's bring everybody off. So he didn't even, he was injured this week last year. So yeah, that's the, that's our only objective sportsman says I'm describing the exact thing to people in the PFF Instagram. Yeah, it's that and that's could be where, you know, a guy, you miss him. You get blocked. Well, you failed that route. And if you win the next three, you got one out. You got one plus and we got three pluses and one minus. That drags your average adept. So it's just that's the way it goes. But the grades, you know, I think we're,

41:57like you said, we got a salt or we got to take him with a grain of salt because, you know, that wasn't against Ole Miss. But to me, the the grade is invaluable as it's an app count. This week, I hope to see some of those, I don't say I don't see the grades at through. I do want to see the wide receivers depth of target get deeper. Not because I think they need it. I know they can do it. I just kind of want to see what the, what the complaint will roll to. So we run the dog vent. People vent. That's the whole point. That's a reason it was created. It was created so that you could go on there and give your feelings. And I remember for the longest time, people were complaining about Stacey Cerels and what a terrible retread he is and he's not a good offensive wine coach. And then now he's got five guys across the front who are all going to be drafted plus some guys behind him that are going to be drafted. So you really can't complain about it. You can't

42:59complain about the job they're doing. So it has to move on to something else. I kind of would love to see gunner stocks and uncork some dingers. Deep, deep, deep outrouch, long back shoulder ones like you threw to London Humphries at Tennessee. Just uncork a few just to see what what will people move to. It's just the snarky, gadfly in my brain. It's like, well, I want to see what would the complaint be then? They'll find something. Don't worry about it. They'll find something. Which, deep fits. It'll be something. It is pretty good. I thought the, I thought special teams last week were really good except for the, you know, the field of fame. But again, that's, that is completely fixable. But the fact that you had, like I said, had such good return yards, good punning, uh, Drew Miller. Put one through the one. Yeah. The little work he got was, was

44:05really good. It was one, but it's like, okay, you know? Yeah, Drew Miller is, I mean, it's crazy that Georgia just pumped out right, right, Thorsten, and this guy just kind of sitting around waiting for a couple of years. This is just as talented probably. And maybe you guys have explained the mis, uh, TSU had zero return yards. And they had eight out of Georgia had eight out of 10 of his kickoffs were touchbacks. So why aren't they all touchbacks? Where are the other? Yeah. Yeah, I thought make sense to me. Do, do they have a fair catch in there somewhere? Maybe. That's one wonder if they catch it before it goes in to still not touchback. It's not the touchback. If they, okay, fair catch. It's far caught or something. Maybe that's what you know. Yeah. But zero return yards like, okay. And again, there's 10 of them. And that is irrespective of the talent gap. Because if you're not kicking it deep enough or you're not kicking it where it needs to go, that other team can return that you can do that against the scout

45:10team. So the fact that Georgia had 10 kickoffs and zero return yards. Okay. Again, something that boads well for every other team you're going to face or as well for you against every team you're going to face because now they have to drive the length of the field every time against Georgia's defense. Now against Elijah Griffin against Gabe Harris against Rayland Wilson and Justin Williams. Now I remember seeing one point, PJ Dean and Quintavius Johnson chasing the guy down. And I'm thinking 33 and three. If you see any combination of that, we're turning right. And then you saw Chris Cole and Justin Williams 9 and 19. I'm like, if you see, you see a 919 area code, you know, you need to get the hell out of Dodge because they're they're coming in there. And that's not to say, you know, Gabe with his zero because that almost looks like, you know, uh, scope target on you because he's going to run through you. So that defense is kind of nasty.

46:12They got some nasty to them for sure. They do. You know, people with the last couple, he isn't at all. That's kind of been the top of good discussion on Georgia. That's go or enough points. I mean, well, he really go back and watch some of these games during those steps and bit ears. I mean, pick the ball up and then you're on the 30 yard line because the the specialties blocked a putt or the guy got got the quarterback got smashed through the ball in the air and won a linebackers grab that in grand 20 like that. Those points count to, right? It's not like, like you that's why turnovers are so huge. That's why I think the Georgia's lack of turnovers in the last couple of years is like you just said, driving the entire lift of the field in college football at the high level that Georgia plays at is it's like going outside and running your head into a tree. It's not something you and then you throw in the favor of what Georgia had made as it's closer as it has been in past years. Well, now you're asking yourself to do eight, nine, ten play drives all for three hours. That's not sustainable. You have to throw in three or

47:17two or three of those. Oh, well, I'm on the 10 yard line. I can turn around and have to fall off and 10 yard touchdowns. That's easy. You know it. Every time another team against the same defense Georgia fumbles Georgia throws an interception. They get a short feeler. Georgia's defense goes out there and it's true with any team. But again, it's the same personnel. If they go out there and they're standing the balls on the year. It's on your 25 and you gotta go 75 yards against Georgia defense. They play different now. A lot of that is scheme. A lot of that is down in distance and where's the ball spot and I get all that. If all of a sudden the other team gets on the Georgia 45. Same 11 men go out there. It's different. The other team is just more effective. I'm part of it again. You're going to play a different defense when you're only got 45 yards behind you versus 75. But the fact that the momentum change is so huge.

48:22And now the sudden they go in a score. They're kicking the ball off to you. You gave it up on your 45. Let's say you fumbled it. You know, talking about they pressure you were on your 45. You fumbled it. They get it back. They go kick a field goal. You hold on to a field goal. Great. They kick it off. Now you're starting your 25 again. So you've already lost 20 yards. We gotta and it it screws with the offense. It's like damn it. We were moving and then we screwed up. You know, so it's a game of confidence. You saw the confidence build five drives five touchdowns. Go back to the Ole Miss last year against Georgia when everything is working for him. When everything's working for Tennessee, when everything's working for Alabama, it's like just the confidence. Once Georgia stopped him a couple times, they all fell to shit. It's a game of momentum. It's a game of confidence. It's a game of inches and stuff like that. So I'm with you. I want to see that same thing. And I didn't see this one says I noticed the coach shoe was bringing the fire and passion that
