US-Iran Tensions: Peace Talks & Power Struggle

On March 24, tensions between the United States and Iran are heating up after President

Trump announced very good peace talks were underway.

He claimed productive conversations happened and ordered the Defense Department to hold

off on all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy sites for a five-day

period.

That pause depends on how the discussions go.

Trump also spoke about the Strait of Hormuz, saying it could be jointly controlled soon

if a deal works out.

He mentioned sharing oversight with the Ayatollah, whoever that might be now, and hinted at

automatic regime change no matter what.

Iranian officials quickly denied any talks or direct contact with the U.S. at all.

They dismissed Trump's claims and suggested he back down after threats to hit power stations

across the region.

Iran fired back with viral memes mocking the idea of share control over the vital waterway,

like one showing a kid's toy steering wheel next to a real one.

Their military spokesman even released a video telling Trump he has fired.

Meanwhile, Iran named Mojtaba Kamenay as the new supreme leader after his father was

killed in early strikes.

Trump said the U.S. is not dealing with the Sun, but with other respective figures who

seem reasonable, as efforts continue to ease the crisis.
