US Says Russia Has Lost War For 163rd Time + How Rich Americans Caused Tragic Flood in Nepal/

About this episode

Moment of Clarity is made possible by:

In this episode, the U.S. intelligence community and corporate press have *yet again* declared that Russia has lost the war in Ukraine—marking the 163rd time they’ve made that claim. Also, the real cause behind Nepal’s catastrophic glacier flood that’s killed thousands, linking it directly to the hyper-consumption of wealthy Westerners—especially rich Americans—who are driving the climate crisis. And founder of Food Not Bombs Keith McHenry joins the show! All that and more.

My livestreams are on Mon and Fri at 3pm ET/Noon PT and Wednesday at 8pm ET/5pm PT. I am one of the most censored comedians in America. Thanks for the support!

Hello everybody, welcome to Dangerous Ideas. Solidarity to everyone out there who wants to create a better world rather than just scream at each other and play political theater. I know it's a lot of fun, but I feel like we should move beyond that, you know, evolved to something better. How's everybody doing out there? Hope you're all right. Got a lot of show for you on this show. Got a lot of show. Keith McKenry, the founder of Food Not Bombs, will be joining us in about half an hour. I'm very excited for that. Also going to talk about the side of the Nepal disaster that gets essentially zero mainstream media coverage. We'll be talking about that. We'll be talking about how the US has announced or at least the US media and the intelligence community have announced that Russia has lost the war in Ukraine. And this is this is a big moment

because this is the 163rd time they have announced that Russia has lost the war in Ukraine, the proxy war in Ukraine. And 163 that's the one that matters. That's the big one. If you're going to announce Russia lost the war, a lot of them don't, a lot of those announcements don't matter as much, but 163, I have started to feel real. That's starting to feel real. I'm pretty sure Russia's lost that war because this is number 163. So we got that and we're going to talk about how Trump has announced that the US has officially made a deal to steal all of Venezuela's oil. It's good when it's good when a deal comes through, you know, it's good when a deal of stealing the resources of another country comes through. And yeah, we're going to talk about that and more and more. You know, you know what my favorite part of this show is? The end more part and the end more part just is always just really good. I noticed in the comments, I think it was Gene. First of all,

thank you for for considering Eleanor's music, Eleanor Goldfield, amazing musician, but that opening rock tune at the beginning is not Eleanor's song and she would be offended that anyone thinks so. It is royalty-free rock music. I don't have a lot of choices because I actually did have Eleanor's music playing at the beginning for like two weeks. And sure enough, YouTube said, you don't own that music, even though Eleanor told you you could use it. And so therefore we're going to cut off all your monetization and not show your video to anyone or whatever they do. So yeah, I got to stick with not awesome royalty-free music. So I apologize for that. Okay, let's get to Nepal real quick. Now I know this is several days ago. This is not, you know, new. If some of you haven't seen the video, I'm going to leave this, you know, it's not the guy I put together a montage of the videos of Nepal being utterly destroyed part of Nepal by this cataclysmic climate crisis event where basically a

glacier collapsed that was holding back just God knows how much water and there are thousands of people missing. There's like 600 declared dead, but there are like, there's like 900 rescuers who they think might have died. There are 400, it's like 4,500 people that they so far that they don't know where they are and very likely could be dead. So this is thousands of people killed. And anyway, I'm just going to leave some of this. I know if you're what, if you listen to the podcast, you can't see this or hear this, but I'm just going to leave it playing off to the side there while I talk about the aspect of this that gets essentially zero mainstream media coverage or close to it. And that is the fact that this is wealthy Americans rich, you know, we'll broaden it beyond just Americans, but this is caused by rich Westerners, this massive flood that has killed thousands when

you really break it down. And the reason I'm saying that is because I'm getting to a deeper reality, which they can't talk about a mainstream media, which is the fact that that wasn't a hold on. That was not the end of the video. Oh, okay. I see. He's just showing that. Anyway, which is the fact that this is a climate crisis event and certain countries are facing climate crisis at a greater level and a greater impact quicker than other countries. And Nepal is one of those. And how much of this climate crisis that we're currently facing is Nepal's fault. Point 1% of global emissions come from Nepal. Point 1% 1 1 1 1% of climate crisis can be pointed back at Nepal. This is from Catholics for our common homes. So I wouldn't normally quote this source,

but they're quoting other climate science and they actually bothered to write up an article about this, which most people are not bothering to write up an article about this. The disaster unfolding in the Himalayas is not only a tragedy, it confronts the world with one of the fundamental injustices of the climate crisis. Those who have contributed the least are often among those suffering the most. According to the World Bank Group's country climate and development report for Nepal, the country produces approximately point 1% of total global greenhouse gas emissions. And I know it's tempting to be like, why would we listen to the World Bank? Well, the World Bank is in absolute inhumane, disgusting amoral organization. But when it comes to detailing like starvation or climate crisis, et cetera, they actually give the accurate numbers. Why? Because they want to make it good and profitable for Western countries to extract and what they would call invest, but extract other countries. And to do that, you have to know the reality of what's going on in other country.

And so if you don't know that, if you don't know whether a country's facing climate crisis, whether the country's facing drought, whether they have oil, all those things, then you can't effectively invest, meaning extract those countries. So the World Bank actually does give accurate data on this type of thing. This continuing from the article, this contradiction goes to the heart of climate injustice. Nepal has contributed almost nothing to the global climate crisis. Yet its people are being asked to live with some of its most dangerous consequences, rising temperatures, melting glaciers, and more intense rainfall are expected to increase climate-related hazards in Nepal, particularly floods and landslides. The climate crisis, therefore not a distant projection for Nepal, it's already becoming part of people's lived reality, as you can see. Try and say that, oh, climate crisis in the future as you watch these videos. Try and say, oh no, we're going to face it down the road. Then what would you call this?

What would you call this? Down the road, my ass. This is what climate injustice looks like. It is families losing homes and livelihoods to increasingly dangerous climate hazards. It's farmers facing changing rainfall, flooding, drought, and threats to food security. It is mountain communities watching the glaciers and water systems that have shaped their landscapes for generations undergo profound transformation. And the economic consequences could be enormous. Yeah, I mean, and again, for those of you listening to the podcast, you can't see this, but this flash flood that was caused by a glacier breaking apart is just unbelievable catastrophe. You know, in the span of minutes, you saw whole towns wiped off the map. The majority of these climate change, of climate destruction, is being caused by the west, is being caused by the wealthier nations, and is being caused more specifically by the

wealthier people in the wealthier nations. Here's from International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, the world's wealthiest, sorry, skipping around here, the world's wealthiest 10% caused two thirds of global warming since 1990. Two thirds of global warming was caused by the world's wealthiest 10% and the majority of those are in the west, are in the EU, the UK, Canada, United States. A new study published in Nature Climate Change finds that the world's wealthiest 10% are responsible for two thirds of observed global warming since 1990 and the resulting increases in climate extremes such as heat waves and droughts. Let's see, I'll switch to switch the screen here to, oh, not that one. How about switching it to the one I'm reading?

Finds that top 1% of the wealthiest individuals globally contributed 26 times the global average to increases in monthly one in a hundred year heat extremes, which are now one in every 10 minutes, they won in a hundred year heat extremes. Uh, globally and 17 times more to Amazon droughts. Here's a quote from the lead author of the study, our study shows that extreme climate impacts are not just the result of abstract global emissions. Instead, we can directly link them to our lifestyle and investment choices, which in turn are linked to wealth. We found that wealthy emitters play a major role in driving climate extremes, which provides strong support for climate policies that target the reduction of their emissions. Uh, yeah, so it's the number one cause of this is the rich. And then you can break it up and then you can break it up into industries, uh, causing that are far

more likely to be causing climate crisis. Uh, one of them is the big ag industry is definitely the top of the list. Then you can break it up also into organizations, which is the largest organizational cause of climate crisis, the US military actually causes more emissions. And then if you add the destruction that the US military creates around the world and that destruction, guess what? Cause this climate change because not only are you destroying whole areas of the planet, but you also then or the people there rebuild. Guess what? Guess what is caused when you rebuild when you build thousands of buildings emissions that causes emissions as well. So, um, and, you know, the another aspect of it that I like I'm one of the almost the only people that ever talked about this, even, even, there's even great climate videos, climate crisis videos that ignore this. But, uh, one of them is, uh, sorry, it is the fact that, uh, without the

petrodollar, you probably wouldn't be seeing a certain percentage of this capitalism is still going to cause the mass extraction of all resources, uh, mass pollution on a unbelievable scale that destroys the planet. So it's not that, you know, as long as you've capitalism, you're going to ultimately destroy the planet. It's infinite growth on a planet with finite resources. But the fact that we're doing capitalism via petrodollar means that the most powerful country on the earth, even though it might be the stupidest, the most powerful, uh, the United States has a massive incentive. In fact, the biggest incentive to make sure everyone remains linked to petroleum, linked to fossil fuels, uh, they have to keep it going. They have to keep that system going. Because it's the only way that the US will continue to be as wealthy as it is and continue to be able to function with a $40 trillion debt, $40 trillion. Uh, you can't do that unless you have the US dollar as both the global reserve currency and that is largely because of the petrodollar.

Um, but yes, the US military number one emitter by organization is the US military. If you want an excellent movie on that Abbey Martin's new film, uh, just came out recently and it is all about that topic. Uh, but yeah, so it depends on how you break it up as to what is causing the most climate crisis. But when the rich tell you, you know, don't, uh, you know, you should use the carpool lane or don't use a plastic bag. Yes, that, that's true. That's wonderful. Do that. But you know what, we have a fuck ton, like literally scientific terminology, fuck ton more impact would be if all the rich people stopped emm, emm, emitting the way they're emmitting you, uh, living the way they're living, destroying the way they're destroying. That would have the biggest impact. One person like one Zuckerberg has the global warming emissions of probably 10 million average Americans like, you know, I'm making up numbers, but my made up numbers are some

of the best made up numbers in the book. Okay. Uh, I don't know what book that is. You probably shouldn't own it. I mean, I don't know how much you'd learn from it, but best made up numbers in the book. However, every other number I've told you in this segment, not made up. So as Nepal, I mean, it really is, I, I hope they begin recover. Those videos are rough to see. And, you know, sorry to make something that you, you can just look, it's, you know, it's something we like to look at natural disasters. And I don't mean they're happy about them, but they can go, well, at least that's not our fault. You know, that does suck. All those people died in that drown, you know, drown in those floods. But at least that's not our fault. Well, actually, partially our fault, partially the rich countries, partially the richest Americans. Uh, yeah, that's, that's how you actually dig down to reality, to actually look causes behind the thing the media will tell you. Okay. Speaking of media, next topic, because for those of you joining late, we have Keith McKinney joining in 15 minutes, the, uh, the founder of food not bombs, one of the best organizations,

you probably see them at most protests you go to, uh, but they're not there to protest. They're going to give out food to people that need food. So, uh, I mean, but they're existence, much, much like your existence, those of us who exist in this, uh, liminal space where we try and fight, the capitalist to American destruction of the world, your existence is, is activism. Your existence is protest. Anyway, speaking media, VIPs, VIPs, uh, you probably heard them before. I've interviewed, I think all of them at some point. These are the veteran intelligence professionals for truth or, sorry, for sanity. That's where the S comes in. And, uh, you know, it's made up of one of the main, one of the, uh, most, uh, active ones is Ray McCauverne. Uh, I've had him on the show many times, Matthew Ho, John Kerry, Akubin on the show many times, uh, Scott Ritter, Ben on the show Colleen Rally, Ben on the show and Wright, Ben on the show. Uh, so basically if you want sanity in

this world, you are a mem and you used to be in the intelligence community, you are, or, or in the state department, et cetera, you are in this group. And if you're in this group and you want to say in the world, then you've been on my show. Uh, that's how this works. Anyway, they came out with a new, a new memo, uh, they usually address their, they often address their open letters to the presidents, whether it be Biden or Trump or Obama or Bush. But so this is a, the latest letters addressed to Trump. And they always deal with him more respectfully than I can. They're like, Mr. President. And I'm like, how about Mr. Dush nozzle psycho path? But anyway, um, and their, their point to President Trump is that the US intelligence community and our media are again announcing the, that, that, that Russia has lost the war. And this is, as I said at the beginning, this is 163rd time that the media and our intelligence community or many or many of our politicians have announced that Russia has lost the war because it is more about propaganda than it is about

reality. And VIPs are trying to get President Trump to understand that his intelligence community is lying to him. Now, you're a little more cynical than me. You, you think Donald Trump is, like, you can't, it's not like his hands are washed of this decision. Like, uh, I tell his community to talk about like these as part of this as anyone, uh, he's such a fucking psychopath. But, uh, what will follow their, their setup the way they couched things and pretend that Donald Trump is believing his intelligence community or the media. He believes the media a lot too. Fox news, Washington Post, New York Times, all of them. Um, but anyway, the New York Times is reporting that the outlook for Russia and Ukraine is bleak. CIA director John Ratcliffe is said to have explained that the Russians while in Moscow Tuesday, sorry, explained that to the Russians while in Moscow. He reportedly urged them to cut a deal before their military and economic situation gets worse. So this is the US continuing to pretend Russia has lost.

We write to you on the chance that you may be taken in by this latest song and dance. We believe it is orchestrated by the same kind of geniuses who told President Biden to announce July 13, 2023 in a major speech that rushed that the Russians had already lost in Ukraine. That's right. Joe Biden announced in July 2023 that Russia had already lost. How's that going? Your predecessor was ill-served by intelligence. Well, he was also a, a, a, a-demented, and I mean that in multiple different ways. I don't want to sell Biden short. He was demented in multiple different ways. He was demented in being like a psychopath, but he was also demented in having dementia. So, you know, it's, it's nice to hit the, uh, to hit both, both angles, double, double, de-ment. Uh, that's a double, double de-ment, uh, ice, ice cream, double, double, double scoop of de-ment ice cream. Your predecessor was ill-served by intelligence. We suspect you are getting the same tintincious treatment from your own advisors. Indeed, many of them seem unconscionably relaxed

about risking wider war with Russia over Ukraine. And they give some examples, but honestly, there's about a thousand more examples than the ones they're giving here. Uh, December 3, 2020, do Russia is using up ammunition. Uh, there's other quoting from various national intelligence people. This first one is National Intelligence Director at the time, Avril, Hay, Avril Haynes. Uh, Russia is using up ammunition quite quickly. It's pretty extraordinary. Our sense is that Russia is not capable of indigentously producing what they are expanding at this stage. March 18, 2022. This is the Quincy Institute. Russia has lost in Ukraine. The West should recognize this Russian defeat. Uh, this is July 1, 2023 CIA Director William Burns. Putin's war has already been a strategic failure for Russia. Military weaknesses laid bare. It's economy badly damaged for years to come. Two New York Times journalists who specialize in intelligence matters. This, that means they're just, they work for the government basically. The government tells them what to

write and they pump it out in New York Times or whatever. It's, you're not a journalist. You're just a stenographer for the deep state. It's really a pathetic and, you know, just being a puppet to fucking war criminals. New York Times journalists who specialize in intelligence matters. Report Thursday that this latest version of the Russia has already lost the war. Story is the current CIA Director's assessment. They warned something, they warned somewhat quizzically that despite this, President Putin might ignore it and choose to keep fighting. We don't understand why. And this type of propaganda is, it has multiple levels of usefulness to the US Empire. One is occasionally it can filter to certain levels of the Russian higher-ups that might believe some of it in a certain way. So it's like, well, maybe we'll reach someone within Russia that has power and they'll start to think they're losing. They hope it will reach the Russian people

and they'll start to turn on supporting the war, which most of them heavily support it. They hope that this type of propaganda will impact average Americans that will all start to believe it and therefore support the proxy war in Ukraine. They also, I'd say perhaps one of the biggest impacts of this type of propaganda in our mainstream media is designed to influence our lawmakers, the people in Congress. And I know it's tempting to think that everyone in Congress is in on the tricks and in on the secrets and they know exactly what's happening with the deep, no. Most of them are morons. Most of them understand these systems, understand capitalism, understand the history of the United States, understand how things work in all of these regards, understand the science behind our globe, like all of that. Most of them not a clue. Most of them are as indoctrinated as your average American. And so this concept, which I think a lot of people fall for is like, they know more. They get it. They know what's going on. They see behind the seat. No, they don't. They don't.

The CIA doesn't even tell them the truth. Congress is just lied to on a daily basis about how our system works, how our oligarchy functions. Let's see. To continue from the VIPS memo, Russia is methodically advancing in the Donbass region along a thousand mile front. It is weathering drone attacks on its oil and civilian infrastructure with enhanced interception and has enforced a virtual block aid on Ukraine's largest port Odessa with withering aerial attacks. Basically, Ukraine is now landlocked in most regards. Ukraine's manpower and interceptor shortages make it impossible for it to ever recover its lost territory as you acknowledge after your meeting with Putin and Alaska. Mr. President, if you would give an access to reality based honest intelligence, you would be able to decide for yourself whose advisors have gotten it right over these past five years. Once apprised of the

reality on the ground and in the air, you might choose to do what is in your power to end the disaster in Ukraine. Of course, Trump has to some degree tried to end it not because he gives a shit about human beings or anything just because he thinks it'll look good for him to end this war and say, I did it. He's really pushing for the Nobel Peace Prize and all that shit. So he has to some degree tried to end it, but he doesn't actually understand it in most regards. He does understand that he wants to cut off Russia from China in order to protect US and Germany, but anyway, we're getting into the weeds. Finally, from VIPS, the VIPS memo, this is not the first time we advise the president to seek unbiased advice with a view toward avoiding unnecessary catastrophic war. We did just we did that just a few hours after colon pals deceptive presentation to the UN Security Council on February 5, 2003. I think that was actually

the beginning of VIPS, veteran intelligence professionals for sanity was during the lead up to the Iraq war and trying to get the message to Bush that there were no weapons of mass destruction. Of course, Bush and his grudges didn't care. To me, this is where I'm a little more cynical, or at least I can't help but be. The Bush administration knew that we're no WMD, they didn't care. It was all now could did colon pal or did he was he pressured into, I don't know, I don't know the truth about colon pal, but I do know his history is pretty horrific. But anyway, that aside, that's the latest statement from the veteran professionals saying, yeah, you know how the mainstream media is yet again saying Russia has lost the war. They're full of shit as is the current intelligence community. And they're trying to warn Donald Trump, but really I think they're just trying to warn us. All right, I'm going to wrap up that topic and we're about to bring in our guests. Thank you everybody for joining. Thank you for helping us fight the suppression,

hitting thumbs up, clicking subscribe, changing the bell icon to all alerts. And most importantly, I hope you'll sign up for free, even just for free at reallycamp.substag.com or patreon.com slashly camp. I really, really just like do it for free, even just for free, really camp.substag.com because when you sign up two things important happen. One is it grows my channel, substag, the substag algorithms, sees that I have more subscribers and it goes, okay, we'll let more people know about this channel. So even just signing up for free makes a difference. But then beyond that, it also means that you will get my substag alerts at times, get an email saying I have new columns out, I have a brand new column that free to read over there about how Israel has destroyed 10 million tons of evidence of their genocide. 10 million tons already, 100 truckloads of evidence every day

is being carted out of Gaza. Very little coverage of that story. I hope you'll go check out that column and share it with people because hopefully people will keep waking up to that horror show. Okay, did everybody do it? Did everybody go sign up for free at reallycamp.substag.com or on local, if you want to be part of a community, that's my locals page, that's leacamp.net or patreon.com slashly camp. And if you forget all these links, it's link tree.com slashly. Okay, let's get to our distinguished guest. I'm so excited to be talking to him again. It's been a little while and he is the founder of food not bombs. And yeah, I always enjoy talking to him, Keith McKenry. Well, thanks for having me, Lee. That's great. I love you. Yeah, I love you too. That's cool. Yeah, honor and I hope you're doing well out there in the in the collapse of Empire. I hope you're hanging in there. Yeah, it's interesting. I mean, we are having a pretty

intensive tax against the homeless here in Santa Cruz, where they put out these off the area around the homeless shelters. The homeless people can't congregate there and they're doing massive homeless sweeps and people on the streets are complaining there's no place to be in Santa Cruz. And I'm assuming this is something happening across the country now, which is quite alarming. Yeah, the attacks on homeless people are definitely alarming, considering the fact that homelessness exists to begin with in this country is already an attack on people who are unhoused, but then to go after them even further is just an incredible kind of, I don't know, depravity. And you, I'm excited that I'm talking to you as your new book comes back out your memoir. And I have not got a copy yet, but it looks very cool. It's called Soup Street. And what do you talk about it

or tell us, I guess, since memoir, tell us a little about your life. And about what's covered in this book and how you ended up founding Food and Abum's? Yeah, that's essentially what the book is about. So, you know, it starts out with first chapter, which is me living on the border of Mexico and the United States. And a big band national park. And then you could see the National Park logo on the cover of my book, because I'm third generation National Park employee or was until I got fired for not standing quickly enough during the Starls Bengal banner at the 200th anniversary of the US Navy, which is kind of funny. Oh my God. Yeah, in that, you were the original Kaepernick. Yeah. And then, and strangely, the Starls Bengal banner is written about a fork called Fort McHenry, which is named after Dr. James McHenry, the first in my family to come to the Americas.

He, so I write about that's here in Baltimore. Yeah, in Baltimore, Fort McHenry, and James is buried with Agri Allen Poe in, you know, in, in West Minister, Chappell or whatever that's called downtown. So, you know, that come from like that background. He signed the US Constitution. He was George Washington's best friend. He was at the, he's, he got, he when he came to the Americas, he was studying medicine with Benjamin Rush. And Benjamin Rush was in the Sun's Liberty and convinced him to go set up a field hospital in, in Cambridge, port before the battle. And, and that's where he meets George Washington oddly enough about 15-minute walk from where that field hospital was. He was 22 years old when he set up that hospital. 15-minute walk from there, when I was 22 years old,

I was founding Food and At Bomb, so at 195 Harvard Street. So it's, and I only really realized that recently. So my book kind of goes through, you know, the, in roughly in, in chronological order of, you know, of my life, I've got like a, for instance, my one grandfather was in the Office of Strategic Services, which OSS, which became CIA. But before that, he was in Army Intelligence. And he participated in planning the US angle of Pearl Harbor. And he repeatedly told me we had to do it. Americans wouldn't go to war against Japan. And I watched him argue with his best friend Curtis Lemay over the phone and also another associate of his Robert McNamere to drop the atomic bomb on Hanoi. And he was, he was spinning around in his den with the 63 photos of his fire bombing of Tokyo. He was

the director of the Fire Bombing of Tokyo Operation Meeting House, which is still to this day, the most deadly bombing campaign in World History. And while he was stationed in Burma doing that, he also set up heroin distribution to black community in the US for fear that blacks would rise up against the unequal treatment of the GI bill. So then another, my other grandfather, he was not flying at 30,000 feet above Tokyo Fire Bombing. Him, he was a medic in World War I in the Belgium trenches. And he became a national, the first national park ranger in our family and on a way to be a junior park ranger, junior park naturalist at the Grand Canyon. He had an auto accident. Some Hopi farmers found him to come to their village, all the rye bee. He convalesced there, became friends with the Hopi. And then when I lived at the Grand Canyon, when my dad was just a park naturalist on the south room, we would go to the Hopi dances, including the snake dance. And we watched the pouring of the

concrete for the footer of Lake Powell. And I drove around in what is now underwater at Lake Powell with my family and saw the the Anastasi Ru. And so it's this combination of events that inspired me to when I was 16, I happened to be on top of a mountain. And I noticed that the valleys in Utah, we're all filled with black smoke from from Peabody Coals, cold par of electric generating plants in near the Hopi land. And I was 16 and I decided I would dedicate my life to doing whatever it took to fight any kind of to end any kind of political and economic system that thought that that was something okay to do. So that's where I got started. What year was it founded? We started food up arms in 1980. And I was a produce worker and Reagan was running for president against Carter. And I was working at Bread and Circus in Central Square Cambridge and throwing out this produce.

And I felt bad about that. So I was an art student. I actually studied American history with Howard Zinn when I was going to Boston University. And on the way to work, I would drop off the produce that I was discarding with these families. And they lived across the street. It was a huge vacant lots behind MIT. But a brand new building had just been completed. And they say, that's where they're designing nuclear weapons. And I go, wow, that's crazy. You're struggling with the housing authority. They've got a seven story glass building across the street. And that's where I come up with the name Food Not Bombs. Then a friend of mine, Zinn encouraged me to join to work with Clamshell Alliance. So I started going up to Seabrook, New Hampshire to protest the nuclear power station. One of my friends from school, Brian Fiegenbaum, got arrested on May 24, 1980. So we found somebody with some money to bail them out. And we wanted to pay them back. So on the way back to Boston from New Hampshire, we decided we'd do these bake sales. Well, turned out, we didn't really

make any money doing that. So I ended up what we decided to do is start a moving company, smooth move. So we're moving a family. And they had this poster. Wouldn't it be a beautiful day if the schools had all the money they needed. And they're forced to hold the bake sale to buy a bomber. So we went to the Army near the bus store. We bought some military uniforms. We mounted our poster on cardboard. And we go to Harvard Square, the Boston Commons. And we tell people, hey, we're trying to buy a bomber. And people thought that was pretty funny. And it turned out to be a good way to communicate with people. We didn't really make any money, but it was great. Yeah, I'm somewhat of a believer that humor and comedy can have an impact. It's certainly not. It's then the other thing we did was we decided to dress up as hobos and do a soup line outside the stockholders meeting of the Bank of Boston. This is, but we didn't get enough friends to dress up as hobos like the great depression. So I went to the Pine Street Inn where the only open homeless shelter in town at the

time, 19, that would be March 26, 1981. And I gave a little speech and they're like, hey, like a protest like the 60s. How cool. And they showed up. And people were shocked. I remember this one businessman going, wow, Reagan's only been in office 30 days. And we've already got soup lines in America, which was kind of our point to your attention towards what potentially could happen. And the guys that came to eat said, oh, you know, there's no food for homeless people. Why don't you just do this every day? And we're hungry every day, not just today. So that's what we did. We gave two weeks notice. My boss was chill and gave me the food that was being thrown out. And for the first eight years, that's what I did food not bombs in Boston. And I have a chapter also on where I had a design company, graphic design company, brush fire graphics. I designed like the Celtics calendars and the Red Sox, you know, all their stuff, their calendars and play books

and things. But I ended up like getting a customer that was in the mafia. And when she wouldn't pay me, I refused to give her my the artwork. And so they got death threats. So I had to, became clear I would be killed. So I moved to went underground and I reappear in San Francisco when Brian, Brian Williams, his name, the Veterans for Peace person, now lives in Nicaragua. He got hit by a munitions train and in conquered naval weapon station and, you know, on the East Bay. And that I was just, you know, I talked to him and spent time with him when he was doing Veterans for Fast, Veterans for Peace. And so I went to the big protest and I was underground with my wife Andrea. And we go home. Back then, you had the ABC, NBC and CBS. And we're watching the news, as we used to do as, you know, activists back in the day, see how they covered our story that

they were going to mangle. And there she and I are in the foreground looking like we're directing these people to tear up the railroad tracks on behalf of Brian. And when like Andrea turns me go, we're not underground anymore. So I started the second food not bonds in San Francisco. And it wasn't long. Yeah, and they even go in, not even going 46 years or so. So I'll talk about the, the, the attempt, you know, they have tempted or what the law enforcement responses to you feeding homeless people over the years. I know they've come after you or various chapters many times. And I think people in other countries would be shocked to hear that you could be attacked and arrested by police simply for feeding homeless. Yeah, well, I go from Boston. I'm in San Francisco. I'm going, this is America's most liberal city. And when I was working

at this place called Bob's Taipei, and I would started a thing of collecting food from the neighbor in groceries and bakeries. And then I came to the idea that there was no food for the homeless in the hate asperi on Mondays. So why don't we set up at the corner of Hayden, St. Anion. And so we're doing so. And a hippie comes by and says, oh, you can get a permit to do this. So I wrote the park's department for this permit, assuming it would be like a street performance permit and Cambridge, Massachusetts. And then the cops come by go, hey, you know, did you get your permit and I'd go over to the, their office and they had never heard anything about this. And then on August 15th of 88, right, police came out of Golden Gate Park and arrested nine of us, including myself for serving food without a permit. The next, people were outraged by that. And there was a local activist who took a photo of the riot police guarding the food from the homeless. And that made the San Francisco Chronicle page three the next day. And so we were,

we were local people. So let's march down Hades Street and do this again the next Monday. So we do with banging pots and pans carrying our produce and banners and so on. And the police arrest 24 people, oddly enough, FBI joint terrorism task force shows up and watches these arrests. And they write a memo on August 29th of 88 to the FBI field office in San Francisco saying that we're credible national security threat. There was 30 of us in the world at that point. There were 30 people, 10 in Long Beach, California, who are people that were called bread not bombs, what we met them at the Nevada test site and protests in March. And we convinced them to change their name so there'd be three groups, Boston, San Francisco and Long Beach. So 30 people can be a national security threat. That's pretty impressive. Then we ended up the national guard that thinks giving had a workshop on America's most hardcore terrorist group featuring food not bombs.

So that begins the whole thing where we can argue core terrorist groups. And I've been proud to be a terrorist ever since. Yeah, we ended up in San Francisco. We got arrested a thousand times. So we had like I ended up doing a, I got framed on the California three strikes law. I faced 25 to life in prison. And I pled out to the two assault battery strong on robbery because they would send riot police to each of my court appearances. Did not seem like I would get a fair trial. But I was able to, I got credit for time serve 500 days in jail. And I, but I could only be violated. My probation violated if I was arrested and accused of a bombing or murder. So then I start doing tours all over the world to stay out of San Francisco. And in the end, all of these events led to us now being active in at least a thousand cities and 70 countries. We could be as many as 15,

100 cities. And you know, it's incredible. The things that have grown out of this. For example, when the Beirut port explosion happened, Beirut food not bombs was the first there to feed the people who lost their housing in that event. And we've been on the, you know, we started anarchists against the wall, the Tel Aviv chapter. I was blessed to visit food not bombs in Tel Aviv back in 2003 and 2004. And we were loved on the West Bank. I was at an action where we're planning all of trees. And when the idea for and the settlers came to attack us, we all rushed into the village. And I speak no Hebrew and no Arabic. And one of the young men comes up and hands me a plate of vegan food because they knew that the food up bombs kids that were supporting them across the West Bank were vegans. And I thought what an honor to be appreciated by this community. I believe

they were a Hezbollah community. And that was pretty, pretty amazing. So my book covers that and kind of thing. Kidnapped in Nigeria with a filmmaker. We travel on the Orient Express, which was not any kind of express, but it was a lot of fun. We, so the book has starts out with my childhood and growing up and goes to essentially the beginning of COVID. And what we were feeding people every day for three years during COVID, because all the indoor soup kitchens were closed. And there was no way that they would have access to food in Santa Cruz if it wasn't for us. I just want to make sure I heard that right. You've spent 500 days in prison for in jail for feeding people. Yep. In San Francisco, only 18 in Orlando, Florida. That was a really terrible jail, I must say.

But I was in a panopticon jail for the last 30 days of my three strikes waiting to get bailed out. And in Oakland, and that was frightening. Now we have digital panoptic guns happening around us. Yeah, but that was an actual real one. And that was they had like a prison TV where there's 24 people in our pod, right? So then the TV show is 24 people are in a submarine. They bottom of the sea. They lost contact with the surface. So who are you going to eat first? Then you have launched then the next show comes on. You're on a space station. You've lost contact with the earth. There's 24 of you on this piece, this space station, who are you going to eat first? I was amazed. They actually were able to have two different unique such shows every day for a month. And then that's when they start to repeat them. But you know, for our prison system to have such

diabolical things to do to their prisoners is incredible. Wow. Yeah, well, I can't count the number of events or protests I've been to over the years where food knot bombs is there. And I think the reason you're a threat to the US system is because you're the threat of the good example, the idea that anybody who's hungry can get food without money and ring into it is a danger to what they want people to believe. Yeah, the Obama State Department compared us to Al Qaeda who's more dangerous at a speech at the Fletcher School of the Pomegranate and Massachusetts. And what they're in the end, they said that, you know, strapping bombs on yourself isn't very popular. Al Qaeda probably won't last another 20 years. This is in April of 2009. But the people that serve the vegan meals are friendly. The communities love them. And they could convince the American public that

might should be diverted from military spending to healthcare education and other social services on that we would last at least another 30 years. And here we are definitely lasting another 30 years. And I guess we are a legitimate threat to their political agenda. It's unbelievable. Well, I hope you keep fighting Keith and it's always a pleasure to talk to you. I hope everybody checks out your book, Soup Street and learns about your battles over these many years to bring food to the people. Yeah, people complain that the big complain about my book is that they can't put it down and people have been late to work or ended up staying awake till two in the morning. So join those others in experiencing that dilemma. Well, thanks again and keep fighting and hope to see in person one day. If you ever enter near Baltimore, hit me up.

Yeah, I like Baltimore. I have a lot of friends in Baltimore. I'll be at Red Emma's hopefully someday do a book read. We love Red Emma's and I have a lot of friends there. So yeah, if you're good, you should definitely do a book event there and I would I would help promote and come hang out. Beautiful. Take care. Bye bye out there. Listening audience. Bye bye. Take care. Keith McHenry always always I don't know makes makes my soul feel good to see his work and everything he's he's doing. Okay, I don't want to run out of time for what will probably be the last story of this of this episode. Trump so-called deal with Venezuela to to steal all their oil. It's very exciting folks. Very exciting. If you're American, this is thrilling. We've made a deal to steal Venezuela's oil. So this is from I'm going to read you the the Algae Zero or some of the

Algae Zero version, but both Algae Zero and Donald Trump and the New York Times and all of them call this a deal with Venezuela, which is like saying that you know someone made a deal with the mafia to pay them off every month when the mafia was pointing a gun at their head and broke their knees. It's like, oh, well, what a great deal they made with the mafia hit man. The term deal is ridiculous. And it's like how how dumb do we have to make this this this garbage this like the media that we made a deal even the ones that are critical even New York Times like there is some criticism of this deal. If you're calling it a deal, you are already lost. You are already a shill fucking puppet for Donald Trump. If you're calling this a deal, this is just a straight up pillaging. They kidnapped the leader of the country at gunpoint and murdered a hundred people to do it. And now he's being tortured in a New York prison. That's not a deal. Anyway, uh, here are some of the

details of our pillage. The United States has announced a secured control of a substantial port in a portion of Venezuela's vast oil reserves. Trump announced that he had reached a deal to give the US majority control over the 65 billion barrels worth of proven oil reserves. And Venezuela in case you were wondering, most oil reserves on the planet, most oil underneath the ground and the waves on the planet. The deal reportedly involves 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan oil reserves. They that amounts to roughly a fifth of Venezuela's proven reserves as of 2023. The US government estimates the Venezuela has 300 and three billion barrels of oil. The largest known deposit in the world, approximately 17% of the world's oil supplies estimated to be in the South American country. And this is thought to be a hundred year deal. So a hundred year pillaging,

a hundred year agreement to have their land and resources, resources raped by the US empire. And you know, it'd be interesting. It'll be interesting to see. I find it highly unlikely. But whether the next administration, assuming Donald Trump is not to break the Constitution end up with a third term, but whether the next administration, if it's democratic, well, what do you think they'll do? Do you think they'll go, we're so sorry about that pillaging and kidnapping your president and all that awful shit, breaking all those international laws. We are so sorry murdering all those fishermen off of the coast of your country. So what we're going to do is we're going to give you back your oil or at least control of your oil. We're not going to give back stuff we already saw. But we're going to give you back control of your oil you do with it as you see fit, considering it is yours and belongs to your people. Is that what you think the next president, if it's a Democrat, will do? I highly skeptical. I think they'll go, oh good.

We've set up a pillage. Let's keep pillaging. How will this affect this is, this is how you're saying, how do I, how will this affect US oil supplies? Trump has said it moistened more than doubles, American oil reserves. And then, just say when you steal loads of shit, you have more shit. And that net, and that amazing like mathematicians marvel. Like if you steal lots of shit, you have more shit. It's so crazy. What luck, what luck we've had stealing and kidnapping and murdering people in Venezuela. Government estimates, estimates indicate that proven US oil reserves are declining. And yeah, we've used up a lot of our, a lot of our strategic reserves like the emergency reserves because of the insane war on Iran. We've created the US government also operates a strategic petroleum reserve. That's what I just mentioned. That stockpile is shrinking with only 289 million barrels in storage facilities designed to hold

up to 714 million barrels. So what is that? A third? A little over a third left. What led to this moment is the next topic of Al Jazeera's article. I think what led to this moment is that Trump was never loved by his father when he was little. I think that's probably a lot of what led to this moment. What led to this moment is a fucking capitalist system that rewards being an absolute psychopath. And if you're a psychopath, you are far more likely to succeed in the biggest ways. I don't mean succeed is in you have a house and a family. There's plenty of non-psychopaths to do that. But the ones that actually run the systems, the ones that run the actual corporations that own the government, all psychopaths, the ones that become the first trillionaire on the planet are psychopaths, face not see like that is that is how the system works. It's not it's not a kowinky dink. And then funny that all the most powerful CEOs and corporate titans in this country and political

leaders quote unquote and did funny they're all psychopaths and that funny and that's just weird. Such a weird coincidence that they're all psychopaths. The year 2026 has seen dramatic changes for Venezuela. Yeah, you think. Trump and Maduro had repeatedly clashed. Yeah, because Maduro would give away everything that's all of Venezuela's resources. So, Trump went in, kidnapped him. Next segment in the article, what are Trump's claims to Venezuela oil? None. He has the US has no claim to ownership of Venezuela oil. The US just decided to steal it. That is the claim. That's like asking what claims did the white people have when they arrived in the Native American land? What claim did they have? Their claim was we're better and we want to kill your people and that's what they said. That's like the end of the story. It was not like, oh,

we have a very important document showing we own the let know you just showed up and said it's ours. That's the claim. Why? So then they say why announce a deal now? Because the I'll tell you the answer because the US is fucking desperate because we're in an insane, intractable war with Iran that we can't win and in fact Iran has largely won and the US and the Trump administration have no answers to it and the petro dollars into cline and the US empire is collapsing and the answer is to I'll go ahead and say what I was going to say. The answer is to steal Venezuela's oil and cut off China from Venezuela's oil. This is not said enough. I'm from skimming this article. I didn't see this article either but that the biggest because a lot of the oil that Trump is stealing from Venezuela won't come online for years and years or most of it won't. So this is not like an immediate life. The US suddenly has loads of oil for Venezuela but that's because the number one

goal, goal number one before even just stealing the oil was to just cut off China from the oil. That was goal number one. Trump's plan and he'll never admit this and the internal advisors won't admit this. Trump's plan to protect the petro dollar and continue US a Germany. Step one was to cut off step one two three was to cut off China and Russia but Russia's a far smaller economic threat but China and Russia from the energy market so that Russia couldn't sell their oil and China can't get oil. That was their plan and they succeeded with Venezuela. They've cut off China from Venezuela and oil and it's barely ever mentioned that that like whether Trump steals this oil, whether it shows up tomorrow, whether he gets Venezuela and oil in his fucking cartank tomorrow, the real victory or victory number one was cutting off China from Venezuela and oil which has almost definitely like almost fully happened. China is not getting oil from Venezuela. Now there's a lot of

caveats to this such as the fact that Iran had they have not cut off China from Iranian oil. The fact that China has shown throughout this this war with Iran's war on Iran that they have a lot of power and they have a lot of power over the petroleum of the world and China's reserves, oil reserves are way bigger than anywhere else in the world and China still has Russia supplying them Iran's supplying them so China has not been cut off from quote-unquote energy. China also puts in five nuclear power plants worth of green energy per week so yeah it's the the plan ain't working but in terms of cutting off Venezuela that part worked but what does Al Jazeera say for why announced the deal now? Friday and March the six month anniversary of the US Israel war on Iran once the war began February 28th Iran closed the straight for moves nearly one fifth of the world's oil and natural gas goes through that straight the shutdown has resulted spike in oil prices the American automobile association announces wheat that it expects this month to be the most expensive

August on record for petroleum prices how is the Trump administration framing the new oil deal? Do you think they're framing it as we went in there we just stole a bunch of oil? Or do you think they're saying Venezuela did an awesome deal with us? Trump has said quote we're doing great in Venezuela we're taking a lot of oil from Venezuela we're taking it taking a lot of oil from Venezuela and we're getting along great with them yeah did it interesting how mafia hit men get along great with like store owners that agreed to pay off the mafia and it's amazing how well they get along they get along like so well um here he is you know this is something you that you got to admire with Trump is that he's kind of so dumb and so egotistical and so narcissistic that he does say the quiet part loud a lot of the time and he legit has said about Venezuela to the victor in belonging to spoils yeah victor except there was no war you just went in there and kidnapped a president like there was no attack on the US there was nothing you bombed a bunch of fishermen said they deliver drugs to the US which even if true

is not a war it just means that some cocaine showed up but you pretended it was and murdered a bunch of fishermen over 200 and then went in killed another hundred people bombed Venezuela and kidnapped their president and his wife and now we're torturing um and yeah how long will the deal last uh people say that it's uh the right to use the oil for a hundred years what are the criticisms I think I've already gone through all those just a few criticisms could the Venezuela model be applied elsewhere yeah kidnapping leaders and murdering people yeah that can be applied I think we can apply that to other areas uh ain't working in Iran doesn't work against a country that has any kind of power but you can do it in countries that have tiny militaries and don't have control of major waterway um anyway of course this has to do with the at the heart of it this is the US capitalist hegemonic uh oligarchy being soulless and immoral and in humane and revolting and all

of those things uh but don't worry your gas price might go dad ten cents it did great for the American people that our government is so immoral and just absolutely unhinged lunatics and it just it's just really good for us this is really fun it's like laying in a big cushy bed like oh we got all those psycho psychopaths running things isn't it nice and you know what else is nice is the way this horror show that they do to other countries none of it ever comes home it's they never angle it at any of the just average Americans right we're just all living awesome lives they never they never these these absolute psychopaths uh at the top of the systems they they never angle any of it towards us we're just treated great we're doing fine thank you guys for uh always treating us so wonderful all right i'm gonna wrap up there but again i have an awesome awesome new article over its up stack how to cover up a genocide israel israel destroys 10 million tons

of evidence of their genocide uh i might end up talking about it on a live stream but right now it's just a column over at really camp dot sub stack dot com it's free over there to read that uh i cannot stress enough if you support this show like at all like you've listened to it once sign up at least for free at really camp dot sub stack dot com and patreon dot com slash lee camp and then if you got an extra thirty for three cents an episode uh join up as a paying number that's what i'll say because the real even if you just sign up for free it really does help it makes a difference and it helps me fight the censorship and the suppression so hope you'll do that hope you'll share my columns and i will see you this is also a podcast by the way uh it's called moment of clarity on most podcast platforms on spotify it's called the lee camp show because they banned the first version um and all these links are most of them are at link tree dot com slash lee camp and uh yeah thanks a lot guys keep fighting
