Vigil To Be Held As Brothers Who Drowned Off Clare Coast Named

It is a very sad occasion and I want to extend my deepest sympathies to the families of the men who

lost their lives and also to those who were with them. It's a devastating tragedy for them.

The brothers have been named as Tadjadin Safi and Salahadin Safi, both in the 30s and 20s.

And again, just from Limerick members of the Afghan community, but again, just so sad that they were

in just their young years. Read a one thing that you have made a call for is that I suppose

Taurus in particular might not be familiar with the dangerous pose in the area and you believe

that more signage or more warnings should be erected locally. Yes, I suppose, you know, it isn't

a notorious spot. It isn't promoted or are publicised as an area to fish for cliff angling.

We have some beautiful spots in Westlayer that have carpaks and signage specifically for

cliff angling. And this area isn't, it's more of a word of mouth to notorious spot, as you say,

because unfortunately there have been tragedies in the past. And, you know, we were trying to get

the message out there and locally people do not certainly encourage anyone to use the spot.

And we would, you know, fail to give people directions if they asked us first. But I mean, it has

been, I suppose, well-known among fishing circles, but we really want to appeal to the fishing

community not to encourage people to fish at this spot. And there's, indeed, there is a plaque

at the site to someone who's already, people who have already lost their lives. And perhaps with

more signage, the people will be more mindful and more cautious and avoid the area for this purpose.
