Vikings' Murray Signing: Low Risk, High Reward

ESPN analyst recently ranked the Minnesota Viking signing of quarterback Kyler Murray

as one of the top moves in NFL free agency this all season.

Murray joined on a one-year deal to battle rookie JJ McCarthy for the starting job, and

many expect him to claim it.

The contract is a steal at the veteran minimum of $1.3 million, thanks to the terms from

his previous deal with Arizona.

With two years back, Murray posted a strong 63.4 QBR, good for ninth in the league over

full season.

Analysts like Aaron Schatz praised the value, calling it an affordable graph for a quarterback

with above average potential.

Former NFL general manager Mike Tannenbaum agreed, noting how it bolsters a roster already

primed to compete.

The big question remains which version of Murray shows up in Minnesota.

A solid performance, even half of his peak form from his big Arizona extension, could spark

real success.

With that lower risk addition, the Vikings look well positioned to push for the playoffs

this fall.
