Former Waterbury Water Superintendent Bradley Malay, a 50-year-old from Killingworth, got

hit with two counts of second-degree forgery after.

Resigning last week over Miss Konda claims, cops say he faked his education and work history

just to land the job.

He posted a $10,000 bond and faces a raiment in Waterbury Superior Court on May 12th.

This all kicked off when the mayor directed police to dig into the city's water problems,

like weak flow from fire hydrants, but officials stressed the forgery charges aren't linked

to those flow issues at all.

The water headaches have been rough on folks there.

Back on December 12th, a huge main break cut off portable water to most of the city, plus

spots in Watertown, Wolcott, and Prospect, even hitting two hospitals.

Within last month, during a house fire on Bennett Avenue, two hydrants barely worked, letting

flames spread to vehicles and wipe out the home.

Detective Spal Malay puffed up his resume big time, and without that, he never would have

made the cut since he didn't meet the basic qualifications for the role.

Meanwhile, the assistant superintendent is running things day-to-day while they hunt for

a replacement, and the probe into those water flow glitches keeps rolling.
