Watson Leads Browns QB Race, Sanders Challenges

On April 29th, Dishon Watson, the ex-Climbson quarterback, is leading the pack in the Cleveland

He's the early favorite to start week one, thanks to his experience edging out Shader

Sanders, Dylan Gabriel, and Rookie, Taylor Green.

The Browns haven't locked it in yet, but Watson's reps with the first team tell the story.

On day one of camp, Sanders was slated for more top unit work, but Watson grabbed the

lion's share.

On day two, he rotated in first and logged the most snaps among the group.

That momentum has him sitting pretty as offseason drills wind down.

Clemson fans remember Watson as a college dominator who carried that fire to Houston, especially

in 2020 with 4,823 yards, 33 touchdowns, and just seven picks at a 70% completion rate.

Those glory days feel distant now.

As landing in Cleveland ahead of 2021, Watson's output dropped sharp, around 1100 yards

each of the last three seasons, never topping.

Seven touchdowns, with a passer rating stuck under 85.

Anjuries and an 11 game suspension limited him to 19 of 85 possible starts, totaling

3,365 yards.

Nineteen scores and 12 picks, it's far from decided, with training camp ahead in Sanders

poised a challenge hard.

Watson's carved out the prime spot entering summer, focused on rebuilding trust as the brown

sort their signal-caller future.
