Crystal Geyser Alpine Springwater Always bottled at the source. Castolencia. Give it to Daniel Polencia. Daniel Polencia is a very necessary arm, a very important dude to this Cubs bullpen,
but he's been disastrous the last four times out. Craig Council after the game last night said, we need him. We need him. Results have not been good. We got to get him back out there, which is what he said to us yesterday. Polencia, he threw 13 pitches yesterday, all of them fastballs. Through all fastballs. Really? Crystal Geyser Alpine Springwater is now the official water partner of the Ironman North America series. Together, we'll hydrate athletes from the first mile to the finish line with Alpine Springwater that's always bottled at the natural spring source. We're proud to partner with Ironman and support a community defined by perseverance, determination, and the pursuit of extraordinary goals. Crystal Geyser Alpine Springwater. Always bottled at the source. I think so. Well, listen, let's not forget the fact that Tori Taylor misread that ball to right field and it kind of sent Polencia on a downward spiral after that. Because then that's when the base hit came, scores the run.
I'm sure at that point you're just waiting for something to go in your favor and sucks when your defense doesn't come through the way you want it to be. Tommy Hottavy was on the morning show this morning and was asked about Daniel Polencia, was asked about whether it's location, is it confidence, or what is it with Daniel Polencia? Here's Tommy. Tommy are Daniel Polencia's issues, your confidence or mechanical, you think? Well, I think sometimes I go hand in hand. I think right now, honestly, I think it's a little bit more of a confidence thing. He wasn't feeling great mechanically, I think, as he was getting back during his rehab and trying to get things in the sink. Some of that does translate into not having the concerts of driving the ball where you want it or you expect it to be in the past. I do think for him, when he's right mechanically, he's driving the fastball through the top of the strike zone and getting the slider down. Yesterday, we did see some flashes of that, but then he did get a left to heat
or down in the zone for the singles. He's a guy that needs more consistent reps. We're going to continue to give him opportunities to work through those things. He's shown that he could be a dominant reliever in this game, showed it in the post season last year and during the season, showing that WBC is just getting back to that guy right now. So that's Tommy Hattavi and yes, 13 pitches all fastballs from Daniel Polensia. He's trying to work on the fastball and try and to get that ride on it. Maybe the slider not doing that much because it hasn't been doing that much at different times. And he's not hitting his spots. That's for sure. And that location will kill you. Had a texture who wanted us to pass this on to Tommy Hattavi. Okay. I like someone to pass along that Daniel Polensia needs to locate pitches and will not do it landing on his heel. Please look at his motion when he was doing well compared to the beginning of the
year and now, very noticeable that the heel is the landing foot. Hattavi definitely is clueless. That's the texture right there. It's time to realize that Hattavi with all his paper and pencil work can go out to the mound and tell pitcher where the next batter is a week, but is useless when he's not working on his pitcher's locating pitches. Okay, sir. Noted. Now they're not. He's here. We've given your number and he's here. He's still hanging around from this morning. Come on. Come on. That's not the time he's listening right now, guys. He's taking it to heart. Not going to go well. I get it. You wanted to work. You want Daniel Polensia, just like everyone else, to be a key component of the bullpen and you see counsel trying. Obviously, you don't want to get him in the ninth. Yesterday, you give him an opportunity in the seventh. You hope that he can somehow find his way in a low pressure situation because you do need that. Are we having nothing on Jacob Web? That was a rocket of his ride on yesterday. X-rays negative. Thank God. We'll see what happens when Craig counsel talks. I haven't seen an injured list move yet, but yeah, that was horrifying, man. Maybe that'll help us slow down. And the forearms shaking. Also yesterday,
this is this Brewer's radio or TV? Yeah, yeah, I tuned into TMJ last night, late in the game just to see the vibes over there. You know, I do the same thing for the Packers, you know, for the Packers games. I just want to check out what the out of town flavor is. And I heard one of the saddest things I've ever heard at a sporting event and had to do with our Green Bay sucks champ thing, which I think we started, but this is not the idealized version that we pictured when we started this concept. Now the O1 pitch to Ortiz. Groundball left side base hit, one run scores, yellowed set around third. The throw coming home, not in time. Ortiz, the second base on the throw, two massive rungs driven in by Jolior Teeves. And that will get the Cubs faithful headed towards the exits. Yeah, the Brewer's fans are going to start getting chirpy in the crowd. It's a full run lead for the Brewer's, his Cooper Pratt, two for three today, an RBI single back in
the seventh. He's also a Toronto walk and score to run. Those two runs charged to Jacob Webb. His line is finished. And Ray's pitch is a ball off the inside corner. It's one of no. Some of the Cubs chance in retort of the Brewer's fans are falling on deaf ears. Damn. So the Brewer's pull ahead with a big lead. Brewer's fans start chirp into other Cubs fans and the Cubs fans pivot to the Packers suck. It's just like it's exactly what I did on the radio yesterday. This is what we have to do. Sometimes you're looking for that feeling of being better than going to Packers and Bears. I hate it. I hate it speaks. I hate it. I hate it when it randomly pops up in the most like the weirdest places. And this is no different. Like at a Cubs game, I mean, like, oh, but it, but he's there. When it happens at a Cubs socks game, it's unification.
No, no, it happened. Alex, you were if we were there, you are in the middle of a tight game in a pennant race, also not a good time for it. When you're getting your teeth kicked in, also not a good time for it. When the socks took the lead at that game very briefly, that's when you heard that green based socks chant happening. The one at ring. Sometimes you just got to, you just got to take your own. Just got to take your own. Yeah. And get on the yel. I was going to get on the yel and come home yesterday, but I didn't. I took a new birth. But you don't like it. So none of you guys like it. It's just there's a time and place for it. And there's a time. It's like you can do it. And it can be funny in a moment. Like if you find the window when you're like, yeah, this is the moment for it. And then everybody piles on. Yes. But at a moment like that, it's not right. Like during a delay that night we were at the ballpark. Yeah. It was perfect time for it. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. No, I had 10 runs. That was sad. That was sad cup fans looking for some reason to feel superior. Yeah. And I can relate. It's okay. 104 three. The score is where you are. It
speaks in Gabor Miras. Let's talk bears and offensive line with a man who knows offensive line play and has coached up these bears himself over the past month or so. We'll do that next on the score.
