Hilton, for this day.
Boom, daisy, let's go.
Squat.
Oh man, we are feeling it today.
Here live from the Breck Farmhouse,
it is a DMVR Buffs live on a Thursday, a Thursday Thursday.
So what was it?
It's their ski.
Today on the shelf life we live in.
Oh, it's just so taxing.
Perfect day.
You gotta come out here to the farmhouse.
I know.
They're like, would you guys drink a beer on the show?
Fine.
I watched, I did the dress show and then I watched well off
just out there in the sun just by myself.
Yeah, it was great.
I'm always sunbathing.
I was trying to.
I mean, it's a billion degrees and it's March 26th.
Yeah, it's beautiful.
Went in Rome, right?
Yeah, that is great.
Colorado.
How are you worried?
About the long term.
Yeah.
Yes.
Very, very.
Okay, very.
Did you know yesterday was not only a record high
for the month of March.
It was a record high for the month of April in Denver.
Wow, what was it, 90?
91 is what we in Scottingham, I sure.
Like all time, all time.
All time, wow, since the city has existed.
Yeah, seven straight summers have been the hottest summer
on record.
Yeah, that is not a great trend.
Yeah, the concerning.
Slightly confusing.
Yeah.
Anyways, here in the DMVR meteorology
podcast, anyways, today on the show,
we are going to talk about a potential change
to the start of the season.
We'll get into that.
Colorado continues to fly under the radar nationally.
Oh, yeah.
In multiple ways, we'll get into all that.
Pretty big recruiting update.
We have three prospects who are, you know,
Colorado's trending in that direction.
But today we start with our guy, Julian,
Ju-Ju-Ju, Lewis.
Ju-Ju.
And expectations for the season.
He had one of the plays of Spring Football yesterday
with that step up in Thoreau Scotty
and I talked about it yesterday.
If you want to wax poetically about it
for a little bit, you can't.
Me?
Yeah.
I mean, that's the dream of this offense, right?
It's Julian, Lewis, keeping a play alive,
keeping his eyes down field, and giving Danny Skidero
time to get across the defense.
Exactly.
And when he gets time to do that, he's going to be open.
And Julian, Lewis showed, I think exactly like
when we close our eyes and dream of Julian, Lewis,
playing quarterback at Colorado, like exactly what we see,
which is him stepping up, not even getting to fully step up.
Yeah.
I mean, to stop a little short and delivering an absolute dime
down the field today, and he's Skidero.
Like, it's funny going back to what was it last week
when everyone was, you know, starting to write his obituary.
Yeah.
And I feel like our guy Bucky was like, all right,
you guys want to see some Julian?
I'll show you some fucking Julian.
And we got to see some more Julian.
But that, yeah, that's the dream of this offense.
Protect the quarterback, give him time,
and let these insanely fast receivers run past people.
That's totally.
I mean, his pocket movement, his subtle pocket
movements is one of my favorite parts of his game.
They are things of somebody of a quarterback,
a lot older than he is, of a veteran.
And he already has kind of those skills, like you mentioned,
okay, he couldn't even really step all the way
into that throw that he made.
But he, exactly, but he has the arm strength, the touch,
and the accuracy to still make those throws deep down the field,
dropping it in a bucket, you know, talking about Danny,
like, you might be able to guard,
just staying in front of her, stay connected to Danny Skidero
for a second, maybe two seconds.
But after that, all bets are off.
Especially if he's running across the field.
Exactly right.
And that's why Julian's subtle pocket movements
to buy an extra half a second, to buy an extra second,
to spin out of a potential sack, or something.
And again, just buy his guy extra time.
I think he's going to be a consistent theme
of this offense's success here in 2026.
It's just what we've seen from Julian all along,
kind of the confidence in the poise, right?
Like that's what stood out to me.
And yesterday in that practice, where they're doing like the,
you know, the end of practice, like two-minute drill thing,
timeouts trying to get down the field.
I mean, the offensive line kind of lit up some sacks on Julian
and that drive ultimately, you know,
kind of stuttered out, yeah, but those types of plays,
like the play that we're talking about,
the throw to Danny across the field, like,
those are the types of plays that put you
in those positions to win games late.
And it's kind of just backyard football at that moment, right?
I mean, literally, it's just Danny run,
as far as you can that way pretty much.
And Julian's just going to throw it as far as he can.
And we're going to pick up half the field
and all of a sudden we're in position to take the lead
or win a football game with only seconds remaining on the clock.
So I just love Julian's mentality in that type of situation
because as you mentioned, he is,
he plays like a player who's older than he is.
Why is it in his years?
So it's very exciting to see.
And it's the potentials glaring.
His ability as well, as we're talking about Juju,
one of the my favorite things that I've pointed out last year
in his two starts is the intermediate passing game, right?
He was perfect in his first start.
I believe seven for seven in the intermediate passing game,
10 to 19 yards.
And I think that's where this offense
is going to really live in the passing game,
particularly with how much attention
defenses are going to have to pay to this running game
and to these two back sets and having to make sure
that you don't gash four or five, six, seven, eight yards
to carry.
And I think that's going to really open up the middle of the field.
It's going to open up those deep crossers,
those digs in the middle of the field,
that these receivers are really adept at running
and Jullian is really capable of making accurately.
So I think the middle of the field is going to be something
that becomes a staple of this offense.
And I think off of that,
Bren and Mary is going to have a lot of counters off of that.
The teams try to take away the middle of the field
because Jullian can place it everywhere.
I think a couple of his best throws last year
were just straight up fade balls to Amari and Miller.
So his ability, we know this offense
is going to take deep shots as a vertical shot offense.
And he obviously has that Jullian in his bag as well.
But I think the intermediate passing game
to start the year is what's going to really give you
those chunk gains at 18, those 25, 31 yard gains
in the passing game.
And I'm excited to see that because those can flip a series,
flip the field.
And with these receivers, you break one tackle.
That 24 yard game turns into a 75 yard touchdown
Ernest Campbell's case or Camperi's case or whatnot.
So totally.
Was that yesterday the Ernest Campbell speed release?
Those two days, that was the first day of this week,
but yeah.
Indefensible.
It really is.
Oh, that's crazy.
And that was from like the what, 40, 35 yard line,
like the separation he had just in that time was ridiculous.
Yeah, and of course,
people are going to try and make it about the defender,
but I'm not.
That type of speed,
and if he gets off the line like that,
there's just nothing you could do.
It's like you shot out of a cannon.
You have to jam him off the line.
You have to get hands on him.
Otherwise, it's over.
But if you do that, and he ducks under it,
and your momentum's going that way, and he's going that way,
and Ernest Campbell knows before the play even gets a chance.
So I think that's why he's going to see probably more
off than anything.
Yeah, because Ernest Campbell knows that that's the way
to stop him is get hands on him.
So he has counters to that though I know he's being coached
by a big target to get hands on.
That's also true.
That's also true.
And I think that's why some of these corners,
at least on this football team,
were six foot, six foot, one, six foot, two,
you know, kind of struggle with that matchup.
And I think it's part of why Fletcher coach Fletcher
mentioned that yesterday.
Like it's a tough matchup for some of his guys
that are bigger going against the speedy kind of shorter guys.
That's going to prepare them for when they inevitably kind of
see a couple of those guys when we get in the season,
but those are not ideal 101 coverage situation
that you want to put your DB in.
And just think of it this way, because ever, you know,
someone is going to think they're so smart,
you just be, all you have to do is press the sky.
Right.
Okay, so Danny Skendero's out there.
And Jojo Williams is out there.
Those guys are, which corner of those teams
are getting that matchup, yeah?
One and two.
So you're telling me the team's third best corner
is going to have the confidence to get up on the line
and line up with Ernest Campbell.
No shot.
No, and Dan, well, if he missed that, Jan,
it's, yeah.
Yeah.
Yes.
So they're not going to do that.
They're going to play off of him.
And he's going to have a lot of opportunities
underneath that coverage, because they're probably
going to play way off of him.
And I've seen a lot of, I think piggyback enough,
I think they're going to see a lot of off coverage.
And I think the last couple of days in practice,
we've seen the straight up bubble, the Danny
just straight up, bubble to can.
And I think that's going to be very easy offense
for this offense this year.
Maybe if the running game is so little bit,
that could be an extension of your run game.
Oh, those guys are capable of taking what looks like
or what should be a four-yard game
and turn it into a bigger chunk game.
So I like how the use and I assume
Julian's going to have the autonomy to check
into those things sometimes.
If you know you get space and you know you have room
and you got a free six yards out there
to pick up through the passing game,
I think that's going to be a big part of what
they end up doing as well.
Back to Julian, you kind of touched on it there, though.
It's the run game.
I think that can really open things up for him, right?
We saw last year and those two starts at the end of the year
that the potential is very clearly there as a passer
as someone who can lead an offense,
but he was literally playing one handed, essentially,
when you play without a run game like that,
everything on your shoulders in your first career start,
like the value that Brennan Marion's going to bring
in this run game with this offense
is what's going to, I think, allow Julian
to be so successful this year.
And we can talk stats and expectations in that regard, too,
if you want, but there's no value that you can put on just
having a running game.
Just, I mean, again, we had a hundred yard rusher yet
in the coach primera crazy.
No, sir, that has to change and that changes
and it immediately makes things a lot easier
for Julian in the rest of the offense.
Over under week one and a half, I was going to say
that changes.
Week one would be, that would be the great message to say.
Yes.
A great stamp to put on this beginning
of this new season and this new era.
Yeah, I think that would be my answer.
We're going to be sick.
Are you taking it?
I think so.
I think so.
Yeah, I really do.
It all it takes is, because the commitment's
going to be there, right?
So all it takes is one or two popping.
For sure.
And someone's going to get it.
Yeah.
Who's your pick to get it?
I can see Hendo ripping off a 65 yarder and then figuring it
out from there, piecing it together to $200,000.
I would say track.
Sure.
That's a good one.
I mean, he looks like he looks like RB1 right now.
In terms of I'll take track, huh?
Yeah, I mean, it's the same thing.
All it takes is one popper.
Exactly.
Well, when you said that, that's where we need to remind when.
Sure.
Sure.
Sure.
Do we want to put numbers on this?
Like, if you saw a stat line at the end of the year,
and I told you it was Julian Lewis,
is what do you need to see for it to be considered
a good, successful season for him, not only just him,
but him and the team, too.
Obviously, he's a quarterback.
How many quarterbacks in the Big 12?
Do you think through for 3,000 plus yards last year?
Two.
Yeah, like two.
I know Hoover did, for sure.
Four.
OK.
OK, that's good perspective.
Right.
Just adding some more perspective here.
2023 Shadour Sanders, 3200 yards, 2024 Shadour Sanders,
4100 yards.
But remember, they didn't run the ball ever.
Right.
Right.
So yeah, that's.
And one of those 3,000-year passes in a Big 12 last year
was a true freshman in Bearbock, Meyer,
which I think is interesting, because we look at them
as more of a run first team, as more of a run first quarter
back, and for him to eclipse 3,000 passing years.
Again, as a true freshman, I think
he is pretty impressive.
And I think that makes me think that Julie,
and is certainly capable of doing that this year,
if he gets up to the pass of attempts,
is there a number of pass attempts?
I don't know.
What are y'all thinking in terms of numbers?
So just looking at last year, I mean,
Baylor, they even had Bryce in Washington,
Sawyer, through the ball, 504 times,
by far the most in the conference.
It's crazy.
Only two other quarterbacks through for 400 or more.
It was Fafida and Hoover.
So he's not going to throw the ball as much as those guys?
Yeah, I'm thinking around 3.50?
Attempts.
Maybe 3.75?
I'm going to look back at my Aval.
Yeah, Hosh, through 2.52 and 24.
And then my Avalon, 23, through it, about 100 times more.
353.
That's a number.
I mean, Shedore, 2023, 4.30.
Shedore, 2024, 477.
Oh, my Lord, bro.
Still not as much as Sawyer did last year, too.
What's crazy is that Shedore completed 353.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, I have an attempt.
That's Shedore, just ridiculous.
He really was.
Bro is a cheat code, man.
Crazy.
I'm going to say, I think, and I think I said this before,
like I really do see JMI of his 2023 season
is like kind of the floor for two years, you know.
So I think that's kind of where I'm going to set it.
That year, again, my Aval completed 63% of his capacity
through for just over 3,000, 3,085.
17 touchdowns to 10 receptions.
I think Jiu is going to take care of the ball more.
So if I'm going to throw, I'll be the first one
to throw a stat line for Jiu Jiu terms of expectations.
I think he'll be around 64% completion.
I think he'll be about 31% passing errors.
I think he'll hit like 22 passing touchdowns
and like six picks.
All go more aggressive than that.
Okay.
I'm going to say he completes 67% of his passes.
I'm going to say he throws for 3250.
Okay.
And I'll take 27 touchdowns to six picks.
We're both on six picks.
I think it's a good number.
I think that's the key number.
I'd be kind of high for him on this one.
What we talked about yesterday in terms of turnovers
and turnover luck, right?
It was team at 11 last year.
Yeah.
It's the real evidence.
So half as many.
Right.
Remember, Juleen didn't contribute to any of those.
Exactly.
That's seven and that's eight years or something.
Salt the right.
Bro, if he can get out of the season
with five or fewer interceptions,
I think the buffs went like eight plus games.
Yeah.
Oh, no.
So again, just because I have it here.
Shredor 23, 27 touchdowns, three interceptions,
which is crazy.
24, 37 touchdowns, but 10 interceptions.
He had some silly throws in there.
All of those were weird too.
So like some first play of the game,
Heat Check Throws.
Yes.
Was that, was that, that had to have been 24, yeah.
Where he had one, was it again CSU in the end zone?
Way up in the air.
Oh, yeah, we're like it, like,
no, like he just shaved off the much lighter foot.
Yes.
Was that again CSU?
I don't remember who was it again.
I think that was, I think I was going to sort of
go to say, yeah, that's what it was.
Yeah.
Which was quick, like that was on the red zone too, like that's it.
Yeah, that was like within the five.
Taking points off the board, which is crazy.
Yeah.
Hit off the back of his leg.
Yeah, that was wild, right into the defender's arms.
Wild.
All right, let's take our first break.
And then we'll get to recruiting him much more.
Shout out to our friends over at Toyota, the legends, man.

You do me.
You deserve it after today.
Thanks, man.
That was a tough first segment, how'd you get through that?
Little, little, little, little prize at the end of that.
Uh, Lord bless.
Oh yeah.
Lord bless that hits.
All right, recruiting.
Jane and Baldwin, we talked about him yesterday.
He announced that he would be coming on a visit today,
or yesterday. Yes, today.
He was your yesterday.
The wide receiver out of Chandler, Arizona,
let's say at six foot, 180.
You know who his dad is?
Oh, yeah.
Doug Baldwin.
Nope. That was my first outlook, you know.
Uh, Brian Baldwiner.
I get you have, do you remember Jonathan Baldwin?
Oh, that sounds familiar.
First round picked to the chiefs who did nothing.
Okay.
He had to do like that.
Because as soon as he said chiefs, he was the villain mode.
I don't remember that name.
You play for a couple of years, but I don't remember the arc.
Yeah, he was a first rounder out of Pittsburgh, um,
chiefs, nine years lines.
Yeah, he was traded to, I remember he was traded to the Niners,
like a weird player for player trade, um, another wide receiver.
That is weird.
Yeah, I wish that if I would do that more.
I agree.
More one for ones.
Just player for player trades are so much more fun.
Yeah.
I remember the shading McCoy and Kiko Alonzo one.
You remember that?
Yeah.
When Chip Kelly was trying to tear down the equals yet.
Well, he succeeded.
Yeah, exactly.
Anyways, uh, Jaden Baldwin on his visit, um,
he spoke to Brandon Huffman at rivals, uh,
and talked about his visit.
He said, um, what the Colorado coaches, um, or what wowed him about
the Colorado coaching staff.
He said versatility and being a Swiss Army knife really stood out
to me.
If I go to Colorado, they want me to learn multiple positions and play
right away, which meant a lot.
Um, he said, I really like the receivers coach, uh, coach J Phil.
They have nearly 40 years of combined experience and coach Marion's
offense.
Let's you showcase your athleticism, uh, talking about the practices.
I said, he said, I also liked how competitive the practice were.
It's very similar to what we do at Bosch, uh, Bosch, a high school in
Chandler, Arizona is where he goes, uh, he said he felt like a priority.
I can tell him really liked him wanted there, which stands out a lot.
He says, Colorado's in a great spot.
They're definitely one of my top schools right now.
We'll see how everything plays out, but I was very pleased with my visit.
He's got an unofficial to Penn State coming up, um, next week, I believe, uh,
and then he will go on, looks like three OVs,
UNLV in early June, first week of June.
Then he comes back to Boulder for an OV to Colorado the next week.
And then the week after that, he's going to Iowa State on an
OV. So, uh, the buffs are in on Jaden Baldwin.
Sweet.
Thank you.
Maybe out after you talk shit about his dad.
Shouldn't have been a chief.
I don't know what you're going to do.
Um, Sam Spiegelman of Rivals wrote up this favorites emerging for four-star
safety Gabe Jenkins.
Gabe Jenkins is from a Monty Christian Academy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Who's out there recruiting Pittsburgh?
Well, that would be Brendan Mariam.
Uh, he's a six one one 90.
He is a two four seven sports four star top 200 player on two four seven.
Rivals has him as the 359th overall player, 31st ranked safety.
Um, Colorado, the first school named, uh, for Gabe Jenkins.
Pit Penn State, the hometown schools also in there, but, uh,
sounds like Colorado's really stood out to him.
He said they're all standing at the top.
All three of them.
It's going to be hard when I have to make my decision.
Um, he's going to be back.
Is this the same weekend, actually?
Wait, good players can go to schools out of state.
Yes.
Hmm.
Uh, this is actually May.
He'll be back for his OV May 15th to 17th.
Um, and as Sam Spiegelman writes, he's bullish on the idea for
suiting up for Deon Sanders.
Uh, Jenkins says the Colorado visit went well.
They showed a lot of love.
It's all about coach prime for me.
He was a corner.
He played the position.
Coach prime is a good coach and everyone knows him.
He's a big name, and of course you want to play for coach prime.
Sick.
Man, we, I don't think we've really parsed this topic too much, but.
This 2027 recruiting class really has the potential to be special.
Yeah, we set the narrative almost multiple, no doubt, from potentially an
in-state recruiting, which we'll get to here in a second, you know, and
I, what I was going to say to like, I really like how, and this is obviously
partly due to Brennan Mirian, but I like how they're just
going to different states and finding kids like, like Pennsylvania.
We're talking about our guy from Arizona.
Yep.
Just these different states that are, I don't think typically linked to Colorado.
I think is, is really cool, because ball players everywhere, you know,
you just got to find them.
And I think that's part of what.
Makes Brennan Mirian so special as a recruiter is because he's not just going
to recruiting sites and looking at stars and who's the highest rated.
Like he's really trying to find hidden gems.
Which he has already found a few, so I love that.
Yeah, and I mean, Arizona for more so than, yeah, more so than Pennsylvania.
But, yeah, you know, I think it's a combination of this new recruiting staff.
And Brennan Mirian being like a recruiting junkie.
He just knows what he wants to though, right?
Like we talked about that a lot with Colorado's White receivers and how he,
he sought out all these guys, Daning came specifically, right?
Brings Ernest in.
They're all kind of a similar archetype.
You know, maybe, I mean, at least in the NFL lens would be looked at as undersized.
But Brennan Mirian just being who he was in college and J Phil as well.
Like they just know how to work with that, how it can succeed.
Absolutely.
And I, yeah, I mean, there's just something to everyone's better at something
they love to do.
Yes.
And Brennan Mirian loves to recruit.
It drives him.
He wants to go out and target guys and then bring them in.
And I'll say this, we've operated with an assumption.
I guess I'll use you guys can correct me if I'm wrong, that this could be a one
and done thing for Brennan Mirian.
He's certainly not acting like it.
Yes.
And I think, first of all, that will help him find a higher opportunity.
Yeah.
But at the same time, he's not thinking like, yeah,
let me just get through this year at Colorado and then I'll get a much bigger job.
He's like, let me attack this job at Colorado with everything I have.
And let the chips fall where they met.
Yep.
I mean, that's just how he is.
I mean, you don't as much as he has been kind of a one and done guy at previous stops.
Like I don't think any stop.
He has acted that way like he quite literally helps.
That's why you keep getting out of it.
Right.
He literally helps.
Sex they signed the number one recruiting class in FCS this past season.
This past off season.
So I'm sure there are a lot of fans out there like he's not acting like he's looking on the way out.
And that to your point, like you said, that is why you keep getting elevated.
Because being where your feet are is as important as anything.
And that's one of the coach primes.
What are his models, too, right?
Yeah, I thought of coach prime a couple of weekends ago when Cam Young won the players championship.
He was talking about like how do you deal with like kind of the stress of coming down the stretch in such a big tournament
and having a chance to win when he was like, man, I try to do a pretty good job of not looking forward.
But every time I caught myself doing it, I would literally look down at my feet as a reminder of like,
this is where I am right now.
It's only place I need to be.
And I thought coach prime would love this.
I had imagined so.
So I mentioned to you in the chat about in relation to recruiting, getting a quarterback in this 2027 recruiting class could really potentially supercharge some things and get other guys on board, particularly in my opinion, if it's Andre Adams, because that boy can play.
I'm really excited just about him as a prospect wherever he ends up going.
Like I think that's going to be a player that I follow because I just think he's really that talented.
And obviously he's deciding between Colorado and handful of the schools, making his decision on Colorado spring game day, April 11.
So I'll certainly be tuning into that.
No doubt.
Good choice of a day.
Stay tuned.
Local recruiting here.
Brandon Huffman at Rivals wrote this one up.
hometown Colorado having huge impact with 2028 offensive lineman Colton.
So yes, fire name, Loki.
Yes, offensive lineman.
So again, 2028, I don't even know if Rivals really has an updated ranking for where do you go to high school, fair view high school.
I'm an older collar ass go nights currently ranked as again, very fluid, the 627th overall player, the 47th ranked interior offensive lineman in the 2028 class, but he was recently offered and it sounded like it had a big impact on him.
He spoke again to Brandon Huffman.
I like that open from Huffman there.
Scroll up just a little bit.
Boulder collar.
Yeah, you agreed.
Boulder, Colorado or Boulder, Fairview 2028 offensive lineman Colton, has the option to stay home literally in bold.
His quote talking about coach white coach gunner.
I like coach white a lot.
I watched a practice there and had a great time with him.
He likes me as an interior offensive lineman.
I'm good playing either guard or center.
I can snap a little bit on coach prime.
He said just getting to talk with coach prime has been a great experience because he's a legend.
What?
That's a crazy connection there.
The next breath.
So his high school coach, Tom McCartney is the son of Bill McCartney.
You guys didn't know that I did not know he was the coach at Fairview then the coach of Fairview since long before even I was there.
That's really.
Yeah, wow.
Well, there's some familiarity.
No doubt.
He didn't really have any very many quotes, but obviously with that link, you know, they mentioned, obviously,
coach McCartney's legacy in Colorado.
He is going to be heading to Purdue and ASU next this month.
He's going to be at the underarmor next camp in Phoenix.
Let's say at 6, 4, 3, 10 already showing it to his junior season of high school.
I mean, 16, 17 years old.
Sheesh.
So again, long way to get to for the 2028 recruiting class, but a name to watch for Colt not.
That's how you do it though.
You get in early on these in-state kids.
Make that impeccable, especially if there's some type of connection there, which clearly there is.
Yep.
So all like that for sure.
All right.
Let's take our next break and shall our friends over at.

Let's go.
Let's talk some national news here.
This is from Zach Barnett at footballscoop.com.
What?
Nothing.
Oh, hey silly.
And I just want to put this out there as a PSA man.
If anybody needs my right arm,
my throwing arm for any services,
I am willing and I am able.
Just let me know, man.
Just hit your boy up.
Did you see you?
About what?
First of all,
I said arm.
No, I say hand.
Hand would have been crazy.
I said arm.
Hand would have been crazy.
I said arm.
And yes, it's shoulders specifically.
But yeah.
Oh no.
No, that's actually hilarious though.
This is from Zach Barnett at footballscoop.com.
Headline, FPS season could soon begin with week zero per report.
The athletic put out a report on Wednesday
that the football oversight committee
isn't favor of opening week zero for everyone to play
beginning with the 2027 season.
Wait, 2027.
That's the next year.
Next year.
Yes, so obviously we all know what week zero is.
This year, it's terrible.
I don't think there's a single good game on week zero, honestly.
We don't have something in Dublin or something.
I mean, we might.
Together is probably a decent game.
We'll pull it up.
I'll pull it up here.
But it's just been that.
It's been like an appetizer.
Not even an appetizer.
It's like a cracker when you walk into the restaurant.
That's all they're going to give you.
But anyways,
it sounds like there are moving towards this.
And this is again a suggestion
that many head coaches made in regards to the calendar too, right?
Move the season back a week so that we can kind of push everything down a little bit.
We don't have national title games being played in late January
when the NFL is already down to 14.
It's pretty much.
I agree.
So we'll see.
It's again, the football oversight committee,
they got to approve this and all that.
But
When does school start?
It's that week.
I think yeah, I think so.
You really couldn't start.
I mean, it's different for every school.
But you really couldn't start the season before school starts.
That would be kind of silly.
But I would say start it that weekend.
I agree.
I got to do something, man.
I got to fix something with this calendar, this schedule.
But you just, you do need to get away from the NFL as much as you can.
Yeah, this would be a step towards that, correct?
Yeah.
Last year was crazy and this would even accentuate it.
Like the buff season was over
and it felt like the Broncos hadn't even entered the home stretch yet.
It was crazy.
Especially now with the 17 game season,
I think the Broncos were in like week 10.
And I fell for the go to 18 too soon.
Yep, there's not a date set for the 2028 Super Bowl, I think.
Yep.
They're going to be 18.
Which means yeah.
Could be neck, could be next season.
Like every time I'm coming up to an international game.
Yeah, uh-huh.
Two by weeks.
Sure, I mean.
Two by weeks would work, I think, for the NFL.
Yeah.
I loved it when we had it two years ago.
Yeah.
That was great.
Beautiful.
Yeah.
Two by weeks would be great.
I mean, make the season longer more for us in talking about it.
I totally agree, bro.
Dingers?
It's a Dingers season.
Do you guys know what this is right here?
Isn't that the thing that you put the glass on to clean it?
Yeah, so you put a glass on it and then it just sprays water
intensely up and do it.
That's why my intrusive thoughts right now.
I want to press this down so badly.
Oh, this.
Be careful.
Week zero this year, your Dublin game is North Carolina TCU.
Right.
The rematch.
I'm in.
That's good enough for me.
NC State, Virginia.
Okay.
Not terrible.
I still think that TCU North Carolina matchup
is going to be fascinating still.
TCU is going to beat this shit out of them again, bro.
I think that's what makes it fascinating,
because I just don't know.
Is Bill going to go out sweet again?
Yeah.
Yes, bro.
Yeah, you.
Yes.
I guess I'm just going to have to see that.
I'm not saying that they're going to be nice,
but are they going to be dog water again?
Well, look, we're about to touch Jordan isn't really a coach.
I feel like we haven't seen her in a while, though.
Maybe it's a good thing, you know?
Speaking of coach Jordan, I don't know if it was real.
I saw a rumor that
North Carolina wanted Michael Jordan
to interview Michael Jordan's busy right now.
Yeah, when in championships, ain't he?
He's running a NASCAR team.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
He's only going to run a team.
He actually just sued a NASCAR and won a massive lawsuit against them.
Really?
Yeah.
For what?
For apparently not, NASCAR wasn't like giving him equal opportunities
as like a team owner.
And so he was like, fuck this.
Good for him.
So I'm suing and won.
And now he's like, I mean, they have a really good team.
Right, that's not like, I just saw like them celebrate.
Yeah, they won last week.
OK, that's what I am.
Well, good for him.
There's your racing Lord for the day.
Hawaii Stanford, not on the island week zero.
Darn.
Oh, that's it.
Memphis, UNLV, San Jose State, USC, New Mexico State, Florida State,
Jacksonville State, North Dakota State.
These are games, bro.
This is not a terrible site.
No, it's not.
I was going to say I'm still so mad at myself
that I've been on that Hawaii Stanford game
and we did it last year.
What a terrible decision.
Why could I do that?
Yeah, that was rough, Scotty.
That was on the island.
I think I bet on it too.
And I was on the right side.
I think they were like, I think why was like 20 and a half point
failed?
Oh, you did some bullshit.
Yeah.
Oh, my god, bro.
No, Hawaii, Hawaii shouldn't be favored by 20 points or anybody.
And sure enough, I was wrong.
Yeah.
The Stanford was terrible, Lesh.
They really were.
I learned that that that that that that was terrible program.
Pretty terrible for a long time.
Yeah, I thought Andrew Luck would give
him some juice.
Nope.
No, bro, they had to make a head coaching change.
They brought Frank right, Frank Reichen.
Yeah, it's like a, as the head coach.
Nah, it was like a head coach.
Like it wasn't, they didn't like give them that official title.
Like they kind of just said, like, you're our coach
until like we find a coach.
I'm so serious.
Yes.
I'm dead ass.
God bless.
That's saying that to a girl.
All right.
We can see like what are we?
You're like, well, you're not the head coach.
Yes, I send services out.
Those were the week zero games.
OK, let's talk about the national media.
And why could, I mean, we know why Colorado's being slept on.
I'm not even going to present the question.
But just making everyone aware that it's happening again.
OK.
Scotty's guy at CBS Sports.
She and Jaragia.
We did this last week, right?
We picked win totals.
Yeah.
He made his prediction for every team on the win total this year,
right?
OK.
Obviously, Colorado lowest bar to clear in the country
at four and a half wins.
In the conference.
Or in the conference, yes.
His analysis.
I mean, honestly, though, I would want to know how many teams
have a lower win total than Colorado.
I'm sure you're going to have so up there.
Probably, but I'm going to say I want to know how many, you know,
he's right in the under minus 144 under four and a half.
Scotty, how could you guys?
Y'all got to stop.
You know, Deo, this is Jake Homey.
I don't even know.
You just said his name perfectly.
You introduced me.
I don't even know his name here.
All right.
We're done.
Colorado's 2024 season, a nine win campaign
that produced Heisman Trophy winner, Travis Hunter,
is one of the best coaching jobs of the past few years.
That's a fact, bro.
Outside of that, Deo Sanders is 2 and 16 in conference
play as the Buffs head coach.
There are some nice defensive pieces
across the roster.
In quarterback, Julian Lewis has star potential.
But after flipping 60 more players in 2026,
the consistency and depth is just not there.
Pick in the end.
So, he has no idea if the depth is there or not.
He just has no idea about that.
Precisely my point.
Let's go down to, oh.
You should text him.
For real, hit him.
Give me his number, Scottie.
You don't want to show tomorrow, bro.
Hit him up.
Is that a laugh?
You got to clear it.
I don't know.
Yeah, we have to get that approved.
Let's go to Oklahoma State, though, right?
Who, yes, you're very high on Scotty.
But they have a lot of questions to answer, I'd say, as well.
Sure.
I mean, they flipped the roster to use your guy's trope.
They flipped the roster just like Colorado did.
Exactly.
And so, he's taken the over for Oklahoma State.
At five and a half, and says, don't be surprised
if Oklahoma State emerges as a mini-Indian in the Big 12 next year.
Eric Morris brought over more than a dozen transfers
from North Texas, including Elite Quarterbacks.
Oh, so now the transfers are good.
Running back KL of Hawkins, wide receiver wide young.
The swing really depends on the trenches.
If the Cowboys managed to build Big 12 quality lines
around their skill talent,
their serious Big 12 contention potential.
Why is the tune so different?
When it's similar situations, obviously not a new head coach.
And by the way, he's picking Oklahoma State
to be Colorado, by the way.
Yes, yes.
Yeah.
Wait, actually, can you go back up to that one,
that Oklahoma State player?
There are wins.
I mean, those are actually winnable games.
All those wins that he gave him.
Sure.
All right.
Yeah.
But I don't know about K-State.
It's just the transfers are bad for Colorado,
but transfers are good for them.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Exactly.
Not as blatant here.
And actually,
In real quick, I just don't understand how that could be even seen
as a negative.
The Colorado was bad for my share.
Yes, I know.
If you were trying to run it back,
that would be a bad idea.
Yes.
If we were running it back,
I'd be picking up to go under.
For real.
Like, you had to get new players in here.
Yep.
So.
Just take note.
Oh, another dinger.
Oh, bombs away.
These baseball guys over here,
Stoke.
This is from our guy Bill Connelly.
Our guy.
As a collective.
That is our guy, yeah.
Yes, definitely.
I'm not claiming him.
He's actually been low-key,
been the fourth member of the show this week.
And you you missed it yesterday.
Our guy Bill Connelly actually has Colorado as one of six teams
as a true bounce back candidate in 2026.
Let's go.
My God.
Yeah.
Always has been.
Yeah.
So yesterday, we talked a lot about turnover luck,
about injuries, about line-up inconsistencies.
What was the other?
Close games.
Close games.
Close game luck.
And Colorado was just not good in either of us.
Outside the top 90 and all those categories.
Terrible luck.
Terrible turnover luck.
Terrible turnover luck.
Had injuries.
Constant lineup changes.
Lost close games.
Only one the Iowa State game that was their only close game
when they went one in three.
And fourth one again.
No, it was just those three things.
Just those three things.
Yeah.
And they were just it was just bad luck.
Like literally in all of those categories,
they're just due for some regression.
Yeah.
And we talked a lot about turnover yesterday.
And obviously, you know, that was mostly,
you know, Kaden Interceptions, right?
That was a massive problem for this team last year.
And we talked about the TCU game.
We talked about it earlier this week too, I think, as well,
where it's like until the interceptions happened
in that game, Colorado was in that football game.
Colorado was in a lot of football games.
The BYU game.
He threw a pick at the end of that game too.
Georgia Tech, I mean, it wasn't until the end of the season
when I think the team kind of packed it up.
Yeah.
And I think it's weren't in a game.
And I think it's because they had were so close
to so many games and they just ended up losing.
Yeah, it like took their soul defeat you.
Yeah, yeah.
But that's another thing, like, we would get leads
in those games and then just completely lay off the throttle.
And I think it had a lot to do with trust in the signal caller.
Yep.
Yeah, that's just not going to happen this year.
Brennan Marion doesn't work like that.
Yep.
So anyways, with all that context, I would just say too, sorry.
You say Brennan Marion don't work like that.
Like, I just know he not the type to sit on the lead.
No, like he turned his court.
He's 30 plus every game.
Oh, yeah.
That's how he got this job.
Exactly right.
And he knows that's that's that's going to be attached to him.
How many points you scored?
What you average it?
Bro, we didn't stop doing this.
You know what, we're ahead enough.
Yeah, it's the Kurt Zignetti approach.
It's a losing football, bro.
The Dan landing approach.
Barry, the shit out of teams.
Yeah, another dinger.
Wow.
I mean, the bats are alive today.
Are the balls juiced?
Was this fleshing meadows?
I do not know.
With the sick park though.
Is that a spongebob sleeve?
Did I just make that up?
I thought that was where the bats placed.
I have no idea.
Did you ask for any cold city field?
Yes.
Fleshing meadows is the area.
Oh, okay.
All right.
Look at you, who.
A big baseball guy.
Big baseball guy.

Enough of that.
Yeah, anyway,
Bill Connolly wrote ranking college football coaches and teams that are likely to improve in
2026 coaches and teams.
Yes, so this was focusing a lot on coaching performances.
Also, Kurt Signetti just went insane mode.
I don't know exactly.
I think it's just S&P plus the ranking that he's using here for this coach.
Yeah, what's that?
32 and five.
It's just 32.5.
So I think it's the S&P plus metric.
So anyways, Kurt Signetti had a 32.5.
The gap between him and Joey McGuire, who was given second,
it's around the margin from second to 20th.
That's how good Kurt Signetti was.
He lacked the field for real.
Yes.
Anyways, just looking through this, he did like best coaches of the 2000s.
You know, mentioned a lot of first year coaches and stuff, but he also did this
section of the article.
Teams with first year offensive coordinators most likely to improve.
There's North Carolina.
There's Nevada.
Shout out our guy, Brett Bartolome.
There's UMass.
AppState.
Clemson.
End of list.
End of list.
Oh, no, not your guy.
Not it's our guy, brother.
Come on, Billy.
Teams with first year defensive coordinators most likely to improve.
Boston College.
He's pretty high on Boston College.
They were also one of the six teams that were listed as a bounce back.
That's interesting.
It kind of looks like he would have gone to Boston College.
He does look like a school.
Maybe it's because his initials are BC.
Mississippi State.
Rutgers, Georgia Southern, Tennessee.
End list.
Jim Knowles.
Why does that name sound familiar?
Where is he from?
I want to say Penn State.
But look, we've talked a lot about Colorado's coaches
and that coordinators and how that value
from Marion alone should at least in, I don't know,
put a number on it.
One and a half to two wins.
Should equate that, right?
At least.
That feels so low.
But like,
Brennan Marion was like a highly touted guy,
nationally.
Like him going to Sac State was like a move.
Yeah, definitely.
Comes to Colorado.
It doesn't make this list so.
Just saying.
Take notes.
We're going to learn hearing about Sac State for the first time.
Like a digital football program because of Brennan Marion.
Yeah.
I can't wait for the nation to see the
go-go offense for the first time.
Thursday night opener.
Their minds are going to be blown.
When the dolphins pulled out the wildcat.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
So it's about Ronnie Brown.
Yeah, shout out Ronnie Brown.
Cadillac Williams.
Cadillac Williams.
What a sick nickname.
Ricky Williams.
Yeah.
Was there, uh,
why can't I think of that quarterback of that team right now?
The dolphins.
Yeah.
Isn't that pennington?
I think it was.
I think that's what it was.
Yeah, I can think of his name.
Most accurate passer in NFL history.
So at least at the time.
Anyways, take notes.
Colorado B.
I would say overlooked and stuff.
I'm not surprised that that's the case,
but just blatantly ignored at this point, though.
So.
Yeah, it'll be fun when it.
When it all comes together.
It's money to be made out there.
Yeah, there is.
All right, we are live here from the Breck Farmhouse.
So for today's draft,
we're going to be drafting bar food.
Heck yeah.
Skit it.
Who is starting now?
Yeah.
Me.
Okay, so Scotty's going to have the turn back to back picks.
I'm going to start off with wings.
It's a good call brother.
The wings here are fire.
The wings at our bar are fire as well.
Wings and bars.
Just peanut butter and jelly.
Let me go.
I just always get wings.
Proposed a trade, bro.
Let me.
I'm like, let me get wings.
You can put your crown next to me.
I'll go attendees.
Okay.
It's a good one.
We have fire attendees at our bar too.
I might have to get some
some permission for some of my pictures from y'all.
Make sure it's bar food.
Well, it doesn't get out much.
First thing first is fries for sure.
French fries is the elite.
Okay.
Go bar food.
What?
Sliders.
Valid.
Yeah, of course.
Got you.
Cool.
Why wouldn't it be?
Just making sure.
Because burgers wouldn't have been applicable, right?
Like I just said,
I just thought about taking burgers.
Right.
That's all wrong.
I think it definitely would count.
We'll just give me burger then instead of slider.
That's the right pick.
Yeah, for sure.
Yes, that's back to me.
I will take
nachos.
That's a good one.
You got two, right?
No, no, I will have two.
I will take
what you left.
Am I allowed to take like all wraps?
No.
I was going to say you know, right?
Just because I don't know.
Well, we have like two different wraps at our bar.
That's why I was.
You pick one.
That weekend's my pick though.
Just give you, yeah, just pick like a chicken wrap or whatever.
No, I'm not doing that, bro.
I will take take what?
No, no, no.
See, that would make my team worse.
So shut out chat.
You know what?
Shop by pat.
I'm going to take a good bar pretzel.
That's a brutal pick in the second round.
Angle out of you.
What else are you going to pick?
What else are you going to pick?
There's just a lot out there, brangle out.
It's on me.
No, it's not on you.
I get two picks and you chose it first.
Yeah, it's crazy work.
I'm scared I'm going to fumble now.
Well, you are dead.
I already did just like that.
Nope.
No, I like, I like a soft pretzel.
Let me take onion rings in.
That's a good one.
I'm going to take
we're in the third round now.
Yes.
This is probably a little above its ADP, but
I'm going to take fried pickles.
All right.
All right.
I'm back up back to back.
A couple of who was sitting in the chat and great pick.
Give me mozzarella sticks.
Absolutely bar food.
I love, I love mozzarella sticks.
Um, how about this one?
Kalamari is acceptable?
Correct.
No, that is not bar food, bro.
Oh, he's looking at the eyes around the room.
Where are you?
I can't get Kalamari at a bar, brangle.
Where are bars are you going to?
You know, you tried to tell me iPhone,
but brangle is one of the big Kalamari.
I mean, that wouldn't have been a bad pick.
He's just not acceptable.
He's just not for this draft.
It's a great pick.
All right.
Kacidias?
Yeah.
Kacidias.
Heck yeah.
Give me a dilla.
Do you want some squid in there?
Is it me?
No, or is it back to you?
It's okay.
It's back to me.
Okay.
I'm going to do it.
I'll take a buffalo chicken wrap.
Okay.
Thank you, Essence Services.
Do not hate on Kalamari, bro.
No one's hating on Kalamari.
You don't like Kalamari, right?
Yes, love it.
It's great.
I just make sure.
But it's a Italian restaurant.
It's not a bar.
It's not literally never been to a bar where it's available.
It's the way they don't have Italian bars.
Like, what do we talk about here?
Actually, I shouldn't say that.
I've been to a place.
No, it's a restaurant.
It's only available at restaurants.
All right.
You're probably right.
I just thought that if Kalamari is in the menu,
you're going for tapas.
Yeah.
You're not going to a bar.
You say, what?
What's tapas?
It's, I believe, a Greek term for
appetizers.
Oh, okay.
So it's just appetizers?
Yeah.
But it's like small plates.
So I guess what we have got in here.
More nerves.
Sure.
Sure.
All right.
Who's up next?
Thank you, bird.
You are.
Oh, it's me.
Oh, shoot.
Am I allowed to, so you took burger?
Yes, I did.
You're going to take slide right now.
Am I allowed to take slide?
Sure.
But like slider, you get there on like chicken slider.
You know what I mean?
Like,
German?
A little barbecue pork slider.
Maybe a crunch wrap slider.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Sure.
Shadow Taco Bell.
Taco Bell Cantina.
I'll take sliders.
And I will also take
a pizza cow.
I was thinking, but yeah, there's definitely bars
that do like pub pizzas.
Yeah.
I think it's allowed.
Huh?
Yeah, that's like a late night thing, right?
I'm taking pizza then.
But it has to be pub pizza or bar pizza.
Yeah, sure.
It's like maybe almost under the flatbread section as opposed to.
This is my last pick.
Let me get a chicken sandwich.
Thought about taking that too.
Fried chicken sandwich.
You're considering it outlawing that?
If you take buffalo chicken wrap and chicken sandwich,
so are you maybe going all in on the same?
And I took tenders.
Yeah, I've got a tie.
We're just driving five different variations of chicken.
Uh, David says not a bad play, but damn.
David in the chat says pull pork sandwich.
Y'all tripping.
I mean, you kind of like I said,
you have a pull pork slider.
Like that's the thing.
Sure.
Yeah.
That's just more like barbecue joint, I think.
Yeah.
No, sir.
It's got a lot of lobster tails.
Who's it on?
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, how about steak?
Who's that?
I don't think so, bro.
I kind of want to give me something.
Give me something chat.
Fish and chips is a good one from the chat.
Although I don't think you're a fish and chips enthusiast.
Yeah, I'm not.
That's crazy.
How about like I got the worst food poisoning in my life
when I had fish and chips when I was a kid and it just never hit the same
average.
They slap here.
You got to understand I couldn't keep anything down for like two weeks.
Oh, yikes.
I like, I probably weighed like 80 pounds and lost 20.
You might have been on like a theoretical deathbed, bro.
No, it was scary.
Wow.
Give me um, give me loaded potato skins.
Not bad.
What about a glizzy?
Have you ever had that?
Yeah, of course.
Why don't you just take glizzies?
That is, I'm not going to speak on that.
What's wrong with the glizzy?
That is the, who's ordering a glizzy at a bar?
That's the one food that I hate more than anything.
Hot dogs.
Bro, see that's what I do want to say because I know it's a non-popular opinion
but that's the one food I hate more than anything is hot dogs.
I don't eat hot.
I used to, my parents, my parents will tell you like,
when I was a kid, I only used to eat hot dogs.
Like, that's all I want to say.
I was like, what do you want to eat for breakfast?
Can I have a hot dog?
And then you burned out?
I ate a root.
And then one day like, I literally couldn't even like stomach
to smell of a hot dog.
And it's been like that since I was like 12.
So I haven't had a hot dog since like 20 years.
Real smell.
Damn.
I enjoy brats though.
Yeah, I enjoy brats.
I really like brats.
Brats are fun.
We have a broad at the DNVR bar but not a dog.
I think, are we, do we have dog?
We know ball.
Open your poppers is a good one?
J-Loads are good.
Lizzie, do we have blizzies at the DNVR bar?
Should've said.
Yeah, we do.
I thought we just had brats.
Hey, cannot up.
Now he wants to change.
Let me change my last one.
All right, whatever.
It's cool.
Well, that was the last thing of the draft.
Yeah, well, he can change it.
There's no one else to go.
Yeah, swap that out.
Swap that load of potato skins for cheese curds.
You took mod sticks of cheese curds?
Yes, sir.
Talking about doubling up.
I know.
Yes, sir.
I thought at least I'm getting some protein.
I thought about loaded, just loaded fries too.
But I already tried fries.
I thought about green chili fries.
All right, well, that'll do it.
Shout out to Breckenridge Breweryman.
For us, this before we end.
Do it.
You won't try it.
That was aggressive.
A different direction.
All right, let's get out of here.
Shout out to Breckenridge Brewery.
Come hang out at the farmhouse.
Great food.
Great people.
Great beer.
And just good times, man.
Yes, sir.
We'll be back tomorrow.
We have practice tomorrow.
So I have it 4 p.m.
Mountain time.
We'll see y'all then, school bus.
School bus.
