  authorities have detained the suspect in the Brown University shooting that occurred on December 13, 2025, which left two students dead and nine others injured.  The person of interest, identified as 24-year-old Benjamin Erickson from Wisconsin (who is not a Brown student), was taken into custody early on December 14 at a hotel in Coventry, Rhode Island, about 15 miles from the campus.  Officials have confirmed no other suspects are being sought, and the investigation is ongoing.

 

A revolver and a small Glock handgun were recovered at the hotel.
