Literally, it's just actually beginning today, 12 o'clock.
This song isn't even written free of my hair right now.
It has been our song of the offseason.
Here, does it start with free agency?
Does it start at noon?
It starts with legal temperate.
I made it through the weekend, so I feel pretty good.
A life?
Well, yeah, with that.
And the fact that AJ is still here.
Oh, yeah.
You notice how it's quieted down a little bit,
because we talked about everything else.
Yeah, a little bit.
It's quiet.
I think all the things have just gotten louder.
Yes.
Also, the more than out there, the less I think something's going to happen.
And how he gets in the bunker and has the conversation with the Pat's G.
And that's when that thing gets on.
We'll get to that.
And the latest on the AJ situation.
215-592-9494-R.
Here, before we go back to the phone lights here,
let's react to what happened.
It was a Friday night.
I guess it was Friday night.
Friday.
So it's a huge deal in the NFL,
but it also is one that can give us a little bit of sense of maybe
if the Eagles do entertain all first here for Joe and Carter,
what his value might be.
Hugh Douglas Friday night, the Baltimore Ravens,
a team that has never until Friday traded away a first round pick,
which is a wild nugget.
They trade away, not one, but two first round picks.
The number 14 overall pick this year,
and then their first round pick of 2027,
to the Raiders, Hugh Douglas, for Max Crosby.
You're reaction.
We did a little Crosby talk last week on the Baltimore Ravens.
You go in all in for Max Crosby.
Two first round draft.
Including the 14th overall this year.
Wow.
Yeah, man.
They got what they wanted.
You know, they got to go all the way now.
I thought the same thing.
You got to go in the Super Bowl.
You got to go all the way.
You gave it up.
You know, the Mars getting a little bit older.
You've turned the corner,
as far as the coaching everything.
Yeah.
That's a push all in move.
I was wondering if you were going to spin it that way,
or maybe a little hurt on the defense luxury, not necessarily.
Oh, no, no.
I mean, the Raiders just traded two ones for a defense.
No, I mean, that definitely not hurt.
I mean, and they're probably going to try to sign, you know,
try to put some more money in this pocket.
Definitely not hurt.
It's starting to switch, Joe, but my premise deal was the same,
that you pay your quarterback to win games for you.
You pay your quarterback to go out there and win the game for you.
And that's how it's going to do that.
No, I'm saying it's always been like that.
It's always been that way.
Sure.
But I do think defense has become a bigger thing in the NFL these days.
Well, they're starting to pay defensive players.
No question about it.
But, you know, when you talk about the guys, you know,
you still town on that young talent with the rotation and everything.
But Max is a, is it every down player you're using as a every down player?
Yeah.
It reminded me of the parts is deal.
We're a team that's close and the Packers tries to go,
put themselves over the top.
They traded for parts is now it's the Ravens going Max Crosby.
Now, Hugh, two first round picks for Max.
Let's, let's try to workshop this.
Let's say, and the report is out there that the Eagles take
at phone calls on Jalen Carter.
Hugh, if the Eagles trade Jalen Carter, what do we think they would get back?
So Max Crosby, it's similar, but not at the same time.
Max Crosby has a more decorated player in terms of just years and pro balls and all pros.
But he's older.
He's an edge.
Jalen Carter, an interior defensive player.
Hugh, what is the ask, like, how are we taking these calls today?
And we just had Crosby go for two ones.
We had Mike go for two ones and a player.
What is the asking price on Jalen Carter?
I would say at least the one, it's starting with a one, a high one.
I would, I would probably ask for, I would probably try to get two ones for one.
Do you think they would?
I don't think they would get two ones.
It all depends, man, because here's the thing for me.
If, if your safe ends as you're feeling calls on Jalen Carter,
I'm, I, my first thought would be, okay, why?
You know, okay, what's going on?
I would do my homework and try to find out as much as I possibly could
or why the Eagles are willing to move on from a talent like that.
And then you just have to ask yourself, say if there is something.
I'm not saying that there is, but just say there is.
How much of my willing to deal with that?
Like, he's a hell of a talent and he's flashed.
You've seen it.
Definitely a one, maybe, maybe two ones, maybe, because he's a younger player.
But not as accomplished as Crosby, right?
It just has to play this long.
Not as accomplished, but when I tell you that,
that's the shortest distance to the quarter.
Oh, I know.
Where he plays.
And you put him, you put him on the right line with the right guys.
It could be, it could be really good.
I would say, I would say two ones, at least.
I think it starts with a one.
I'm with you.
Yeah, you got to get one one.
Write that in your notebook.
It starts with a one.
I don't think we'd get two ones back.
I mean, if, how we could pull that off, I think that would be great.
But yeah, you definitely start with that.
But I think a one plus.
Now, I don't...
It's kind of a weird deal, because defensive tackles that this aes
don't usually get traded.
There's not much of a...
Like, you know, how he's been using all these other receivers
that have gotten traded for ones.
It's kind of a backdrop for what he wants for AJ.
Like, there's a blueprint.
There's not really a blueprint for trading a jail on Carterway,
because if you draft a jail on Carter, you don't really trade a jail on Carter,
unless you have to or you can't agree to a contract with them or whatever.
So there's not many to go back to.
And one I thought of this morning was when the Patriots tried to Richard Seymour
to the Raiders for a first-round pick.
Yeah, I remember that.
Richard was a great player, and he helped them win championships.
But then that really became about a money thing,
and the Raiders paid a first-round pick.
I would start with a one.
I don't know how much more we would get,
but I have to get a one back to trade him.
Then I just don't do it.
Like, the only way I'm trading jail on Carter is if the deal comes in,
and we look at this and you're like, floored.
Like, holy crap.
How can anybody pass that up?
Like, one plus.
If I even come away with this taken, like, yeah, you know,
maybe that's fair trade compensation for both teams for jail on Carter.
That's an L for me, because then I lose jail on Carter,
and I have an unknown.
Yeah, the part of this that is tricky is why are we here, right?
Are the Eagles decided or started to decide they don't want to pay him in a year,
and they don't trust paying him.
Well, then the quick or remove him, probably the more we get back.
2-1-5-5-9-2-9-2-9-4.
The Crosby deal is interesting, and it's kind of similar,
but I do think because there are different realms of their career,
ones in edge, ones in tierier, ones older, ones a little younger,
they're not quite the same in a year.
I also wonder with the Ravens.
Was that just a team desperate to win the surf ball,
and they're like, you know what, screw it.
Here's two ones.
They made a splash.
Yeah.
They made a big splash, and they did set the market for a forest.
Regents are concerned.
You know, but it does like an all-end move.
It definitely looks like an all-end move.
For the Ravens?
Oh, for sure.
For sure, definitely.
Yeah.
I mean, there were the stage were in the Mars career,
where it's like, they got to win the next couple of years.
Yeah, for sure.
All right.
2-1-5-5-9-2-9-4-9-4.
Jail and Carter, the Eagles are reportedly taking calls.
Are you open to trading Jail and Carter?
Ike in Southwest Philly is up on WIP.
What's up, Ike?
What's up, y'all?
Ike, how you doing, man?
I'm good.
I'm good.
You know, cheers, my thing.
Jail, you trip.
Why?
Like, how do you, how do you think the frame and stuff
be really drawn sometimes?
Like, you just said that and you saying, oh, I feel so good about, I feel so good about
the future of Jordan Davis.
Jordan Davis only really had one really good year.
And he played OK last year.
You can start to see the tie, try to start to change in his career.
Right.
Jail and Carter, two years ago, you just said, oh, that was ridiculous.
Yeah.
He didn't even come off the field most games.
He was all probably was discussing him as being the best defensive player in the league.
And the year before that, he had a really good rookie rookie year.
And then last year, back year, and you downplay a shoulder, a shoulder for, and I know you,
you know better than me, but I would think a shoulder for a defensive attack will be real tough.
Both of them things, man.
Yeah, both of the shoulders.
Exactly.
So when you sit there saying, you feel more comfortable about the future of Jordan Davis.
I do.
Over at Jail and Carter.
That's preposterous.
Well, it's not.
No, I'm not saying he's going to be a better player, but I can, I feel like I can guess his future
better.
Well, how?
Well, I imagine how he had one good year because I think he's, I bet he strikes Carter for
having one good year.
Because my thing is I think Jordan Davis strikes me as someone that you can, you can guess and
trust on them more.
Now that he's got.
No, but that's a narrative.
No, it's not an narrative.
No, it's not an narrative.
It's not an narrative.
I don't think it's an narrative.
I think it's just, we owe everything that these teams do.
You're betting on people, right?
You're betting on worth it.
Work ethic.
You're betting on talent.
And you're betting on, will they reach their potential?
Like, you could sell me that Jordan Davis is a good player for the next three or four years.
You could also sell me Jail and Carter wins a defensive player of the year.
But I think there's also an outcome in Jail and Carter's career where he falls off fast,
where he gets paid and he doesn't put the work in anymore.
And then I go hold it.
I'm sorry.
You got it.
You got it.
You guys just say this real quick.
You own your Janet Jackson, John, whatever we'll have you done for me lately.
And this is why I'm going to say that.
Yeah.
Because just last year, everybody said you can't.
Why?
I remember people was mad that they gave them the fifth year.
Yeah.
And then they didn't last year.
Before going to the last year, people didn't trust that he was going to keep off of it.
Because you remember he lost weight the previous year and then he put it back on the door in the year.
So now he had one year and I'm listening.
I ain't putting him down.
I'm happy we were responding.
But I just don't understand because he had one year that he showed us and he matured
and he was able to keep off the weight or whatever.
That we, we sitting there saying we trust him.
But Jail and Carter, he did dumb stuff but we, but he's been ridiculous.
But I, let me, let's throw this at you.
Has there been a single year where Jail and Carter didn't do something that frustrated people?
Like yes, he was a great player in 24.
But that season they had a suspended for a quarter for missing a meeting or whatever he did.
Last year he spit on Dacking got himself thrown out of a game and he wasn't playing well.
And they said he didn't come in a camp in shape.
Like every year there's something like his talent.
I'm gonna, I'm gonna tell you this too, man.
Says everybody like to do the cliche thing.
Yeah.
But it was worth our radio.
What Jimmy Johnson say when Emmys Smith was falling asleep will come and late their private.
We don't treat certain players like we treat other certain players.
Of course.
Of course.
And I'm not saying he's supposed to be doing that, but that would be real.
Two years ago, that dude played like almost, it was insane how many snaps he was playing.
Of course it was.
And Jordan Davis was playing like, if I remember, what do you only play like 30% of the snaps?
I think it rose to like, I think it rose in the 60s.
Yeah.
Like last year?
No, two years ago.
Two years ago.
Yeah, I think it got to about 40, like two years ago.
The whole purpose, the only thing I'm just trying to say into me is crazy how we take one year.
And say, and look at look at this guy with all flowers.
And then we take one year and look at this guy like crazy.
I've seen the video him and they're working crazy getting himself in shape working on his shoulders.
So it just to me is like, it's a narrative that goes on.
People like who they like, they listen to, they listen to the media, they listen to reports.
And then they just start building.
And then the guys that come on on this show.
Well, let me ask you all.
Let me ask you all.
Let me ask you all.
That's great.
So all that being said, this is the first year based on his contract.
The Eagles could pay him.
Like right now today, like, as we're having this conversation, the Eagles could finalize an extension with Jalen Carter.
Why is that not a story right now that they're about to do this?
And the story is, they're taking calls.
I've got, I'm just a theory.
Okay.
Obviously, that's what everybody would say.
Yeah.
Maybe, maybe they put that story out there to scare the brothers.
You know, like sometimes they, like, teens do that.
Like, you know, you only got to stay here.
But why would they do that though?
Because that's what I'm saying to tell them, like, you need, like, you need to mature.
Okay, but okay.
And I agree with you that he might be there.
I wouldn't give him a bread.
Wait the next year if you can.
But you can give him the fifth year later.
You can give him the fifth year.
I agree with you on that.
Yeah.
But why would they do?
Like, why would they put the story out there though?
That's the, that's the thing.
Because the problem is a little immature.
But that old, that old rise to the level that I'm training.
But obviously, that's what I was trying to get you to see.
For them, if they put the story out there, it obviously does.
Because let's look at the timeline here.
Because you, you, we've been doing a correlation between Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter, right?
And you talk about how, like, with Jordan, they want him out of here.
But when you look at Jordan's timeline, he's progressively gotten better as a detackle.
Since he's been here.
Would you agree with that?
Now he had that year where he regressed.
And he, he gained the way back.
But he came back this year.
He played better.
He kept the weight off.
For them, that's a sign of maturity, right?
Okay.
Now, let's look at, look at Jalen Carter.
Jalen Carter comes in the first year.
He, he shows a lot of promise.
Plays well.
The second year, he comes on like a gangbuster, right?
He was great.
Yeah, he was.
And then this third year, his play regressed so much so that he was getting in trouble
for missing means and all this other stuff.
So, so that's good.
Well, what would you buy this?
He said, good point.
I know, great point.
Yeah, but see, that's, that's how you have to look at it.
Especially when you start talking about making, giving guys millions of dollars.
You know what?
There's another saying that, that, that I hear all the time.
Money makes you more of who you really are.
Oh, that's fact.
You know what I'm saying?
So maybe, maybe they're looking at it and they're a little concerned with the fact that,
you know, maybe for, for, for, for Jalen.
He might become more of a, a, a problem.
Not saying that he is because I don't know I'm, my record is speculating here.
It is.
It is.
It is.
I could phone call man.
We appreciate it.
I, here I think that's it.
So, so here, if I had a guess on how this is gone, here I, I would imagine the Eagles,
because they drafted him and they've won with him, would like to keep Jalen Carter, right?
Like if all things are even, the Eagles always want to keep their draft picks, right?
That's how you build the team and you kind of have the, those short and the long term in it.
I wonder if they went to him.
His age is true.
Rosenhouse, I believe.
I wonder if they went to Jalen Carter and asked if can we do a team friendly extension?
And I'm, my guess is true.
I was like, hmm, you know, like, oh my, we're going to reset the market here with this guy.
And then maybe that's how we got here with it.
It was like, wait a second.
You know, it's one thing if we sign him early and we, we get a little discount just in case he doesn't work out.
But if, I'm not, we're not, I think, get more out of every mile when you share the ride to work.

You can wait.
Yeah.
You can wait.
I mean, and you know, you're potentially looking at, you know, what other guys you have here in the way it's trending.
This is almost like stocks, if you will, when you talk about players.
It is.
It's like playing a stock market.
And you look and see the trends and, you know, whether or not they're going to trend in the right direction or not.
I remember Jeffrey Lurie said to me this story all the time about what was said about me in New York as opposed to when I got to fill it out for you.
And one of the things he always talks about is how Bill Parcell said, I didn't have a great work ethic.
And I was like, you know, that's not true.
It just all depends on how much your-
What type of chances you're willing to take with a player?
And I feel like-
And that was the first thing I thought about talking to Ike now was when I heard this story this weekend.
Because you're right.
Jalen Carter, to me, has the potential to be a generational talent.
No question about it.
I think we all see it.
Yeah, yeah.
But for them, if they're thinking about shopping him, it has to be more to it.
There has to be other other parts of his game that they're not so satisfied with.
That's why I don't buy it's only about money because how we could just move-
I mean, what was the last time the Eagles lost a player they really wanted to keep over money?
And that doesn't usually happen.
And you hear how we say, we don't make it our business to get rid of good players.
Well, that's-
I mean, there's that too.
So it-
Yeah.
You have to listen to what's being said.
And if his name's being bantered around, you have to think with everything that how he has spoken about,
as far as these players are concerned, that it has to be a little bit more.
It has to be something extra.
Yeah, I also wonder if they-
Look at it as-
What's our best way to get a lot of draft picks here in the next couple of years to kind of re-
Turn the roster over, especially the offensive side.
You just do ranks.
Well, you do with draft picks.
And who would bring us a lot of draft picks?
Jalen Carter, well, let's go to Bob and Philly.
What's up, Bob?
Hey, guys.
You just-
The very last thing you said, you just said my point.
I think it's-
It's about who will bring-
Of the owner defense who will bring the greatest return.
They have a lot of good players.
They're not going to be able to play them all.
So pay them all.
So who can we get the most for?
And it's Carter.
And I think that's the really the goal here is to get your pick.
Jalen, you had said that there's a-
You know, with Crosby and Carter, it's not apples to apples.
But I think it tilts in Carter's favor, because in football,
four years is an immense amount of time.
Mm-hmm.
And he's quite a bit younger.
And I think he would definitely bring two first round picks
if Crosby got to.
Well, Bob, I'll just say this.
If how he's offered two first round picks for Jalen Carter,
he's got to make that move.
Is as good as Carter is?
And as good as he's been for the Eagles, especially the Super Bowl Year,
you have to trade him for two first round picks.
That's too much value.
I agree.
Yeah, I agree, because I think there's a next move ahead of this.
And next year's draft, apparently,
so what I've been hearing is that it's one of the best quarterback classes in year.
Yep.
And we are going to need another quarterback.
I'm not anti-hurt, so I'm not pro-hurt.
But this is where I do know.
We're not going to win paying Jalen her $60 million a year.
We've got to get a good, cheap quarterback.
You look at the teams that are winning now.
Bone X, Drake May.
The quarterbacks are on the rookie contracts.
And if we got two picks for him plus our own,
we could easily get up in a top echelon of the draft
and get our quarterback for the next five years.
And I personally think this is where all this is about.
Bob, I think you're right.
And every time the Eagles are involved in one of these rumors,
I keep listening to see, like, where are these picks?
Are they this year?
Are they next year?
And if we end up with a bunch of picks next year,
it is hard not to connect those dots.
Bob, we appreciate the phone call.
Good job, Bob.
Yeah, Bob's on it.
Bob's connected dots here.
You know what we got to do here?
What we got to do?
Well, we have a pair of tickets.
Ooh, let me get mine.
Well, how about this?
You get to go see Joe Conklin with the city rhythm orchestra

Here's clues.
Have you seen my dog, you, hey?
He's got a brand new clue.
He begins with a chance to...
Everybody's looking at his clues.
Come on in, come on in.
Here's clues.
It's you's clues and you...
Hey, so now we doing this for real, right?
So what are we giving away again?
What do you mean for real?
Oh, it's for the love of the game last week.
You're going to take this little more seriously?
I'm going to take this for a new price.
No, this is, I'm going to, I always take them serious.
Don't put Joe Conklin tickets.
Yeah, no, no, no.
I mean, I put them.
I didn't laugh in your face at your third clue last week.
I would see Matt.
He's, he's, he's guess.
He can do that.
We had a good time.
We did.
All right, then.
So here's the first clue everybody.
This is a for real actor.
Like for real.
Like, no, no.
You expect anyone to believe you?
I say it for real.
I know, but this is like the boy who cried wolf.
I mean, like how many times?
Well, hold on.
I mean, this is an open admission that you've been lying about.
I even lied.
No, no.
Like, this is a for real actor means that you know...
First of all, the other ones weren't.
First of all, it's, it's my interpretation of actor.
Yes.
So the wrong one.
So I'm, I'm giving people a little bit of a nugget.
This is a for real actor.
Oh, my mama.
Oh, my hood.
Okay.
So this is someone that most people out there would say as an actor?
Yes.
Not just you.
Most people say that.
There it is.
All right.
Two one five five nine two.
Ninety four.
Ninety four is actor.
We continues into week three here.
A for real actor says Hugh Douglas.
Your first clue for Hugh's clue.
Stickers go see Joe Conklin on the line today.
Chuck in the Northeast.
What's up, Chuck?
Chuck.
What's up, man?
Hey, Chuck.
I was about to turn the whole city upside down, man.
What do we do?
Wait a minute, Chuck.
Before you get started.
Why, wait a minute.
Hold up, Chuck.
Chuck.
Because this kind of burns me a little bit.
What do you mean we?
What, what, what is it we?
Because the last time I checked, we're responding to a story that was a national story.
So how is it we?
Is this the Philadelphia?
Is this the city of Philadelphia?
Sure is.
Is the team the Philadelphia Eagles?
Yes.
Is any of this coming from the Philadelphia Eagles?
Well, let me check.
Hold on.
Well, why would it?
Let's workshop this, Chuck.
So Jeremy Fowler from ESPN put out that the Eagles are taking calls on Jalen Carter.
Who put, who gave that to Jeremy Fowler?
What you talking about?
I don't know.
You tell me.
You're talking about it on a radio.
I have no idea.
Who gave Jeremy Fowler?
Okay.
But Chuck, let's try to do this together.
Who benefits from this being out there?
I don't care about who benefits from it.
You're not opening your eyes, Chuck.
Chuck, I don't know if they're going to trade them or not.
But I do know this.
If you, let's pretend it's the Browns that are trying to get Jalen Carter.
Let's just pretend, right?
And they call the Eagles.
Do you think the Browns want other teams to know that they're trying to get Jalen Carter
so then it's a big war?
Or do you think the Eagles would want the other teams to know, hey, we're open for business.
We're open for business here.
Chuck, like which makes more sense?
I am not calling to analyze who does what, or what this means, or what that means.
Right.
I am just talking about what has the Philadelphia Eagles officially put out there or stated.
I don't listen to all the other nonsense.
Okay, Chuck.
So I hear it coming from my beloved team.
Chuck.
Chuck, wait a minute, Chuck.
I don't want to hear you guys putting that down.
Chuck, calm down.
Chuck, calm down.
First of all, what, what, why are you mad, Chuck?
I mean, because these stories, what do you think these stories are coming from?
So, Chuck, are you open to trading Jalen Carter or now?
H-E-L-L-No.
Okay.
See, that's, that's the conversation.
That, that's the conversation.
That next crop be better than Jalen Carter.
What, Chuck?
Who's a more accomplished player in the league?
He didn't say better.
He said more accomplished.
Max Crosby.
He's definitely out of better careers.
Max Crosby cannot touch Jalen Carter.
How many all pros is Jalen Carter made?
First team all pro.
Max Crosby.
You know Max Crosby is not better than Jalen Carter.
How many first team all pros has Jalen Carter made?
Listen, I don't care about the all pros.
How many times is Carter had double digits out?
How many times is Carter had double digits out?
You know Jalen Carter is better than Max Crosby.
You know that.
Why don't?
I don't.
This is saying.
say I'm talking about one guy has one guy has one guy has four years of double
digits four years of double digits up four years so you're joking you think we're
going to call on if they trade him you think we're going to get more than two first-round
picks you're all right that's enough Chuck he he he he he he he he he he he he there's
no idea what he's talking about I think it he was fair to say because the years
difference right how much younger Joe encarters that his next five years will
probably better than Max Krosby's next five I think that is fair to say he has a tremendous
upside when you talk about a career come on when you talk about more accomplished I mean you
you have to give it to Max because Max number one has been playing longer and he's more of a
decorated defensive lineman at this point in his career five pro bowls three teen three time
all pro he's never had a season with fewer than seven sacks his Joe encarter ever had seven sacks
I don't think so I don't think he has four roses pretty impressive yes it is two one five five
nine two ninety four nine if are you open to trading jail encarter whether or not you are willing
to have the discussion or not he anyone had it is good why are you talking about this well
it's interesting why are you making up stuff I am reacting like just for everybody else who likes
to say we like to make up stuff I've been here for what three years and a lot of times it's more
so reacting to what's being said yes that's how you recklessly speculative that's how I recklessly
speculate because it's more of a reaction I don't I don't have to make up stories I don't have to
sit here and I don't think you do either Joe you have an opinion because you're a fan anybody got
to got to sit here make up stuff well listen we we could have had the discussion on Carter without
this but this makes gives it some like life to it like the ego just makes you wonder makes you
wonder where it's coming from the eagles are taking calls for jail encarters so would you trade
him are you open to this and if you're not that's cool Kyle doesn't want to trade him I'm not
yelling at him two one five five nine two ninety four nine well I don't think he understands
the spirit of the conversation all right your guesses for use clues we'll also get to the other big
eagles story to was say the latest on a j brown and what the insiders are saying about a potential
