To have an greatest of God, we thank you for who you are and who you continue to be in each of our individual lives. Forgive us for each and every known sin, words, thoughts, or deeds. And we thank you for what Jesus Christ did at the cross of Calvary for each one of us. As we enter today's message, we ask you allow your whole spirit to take it and make it real. Make a real unto the listener and continue to make a real for my individual life. In Christ's name, we ask you to thank you. Amen. You know, well first and foremost, welcome back to Challenges of Faith Radio Program. And thank you for joining your own episode 3394. But the story is told of a theologian who was coming back from abroad and on a ship. And they were anxious to get back to their family and their work.

And the ship that they were on had left. And a lot of people were there reading them and sending them all. And the ship was about three days out in the ocean. And all of a sudden it came to a halt. And the reason why it did is because they had a broken shaft and before it alone had began to take water. And needless to say, the crew and passengers were desperate. And if I was on there, I don't know about you. I would probably be as well. But the reason was because nobody was sure whether a ship was sinking or not. And nobody knew of any rescue ships in the area. So after two days of anxiety, the theologian asked for permission to hold a meeting. And to a surprise nearly every passenger attended. And he opened his Bible to the favorite of chapter and burst the eyes sometimes.

Psalm chapter 91. And holding to a pillar to steady himself, he read, he lived well. And the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Later that theologian wrote that it was the darkest hour of his life. And relief came in prayer that God had heard his cry and enabled him to say from the depth of his soul. They will be done. And then he went to bed and fell asleep almost immediately. Well, God did answer this prayer. And only him, but I'm sure others who may have prayed and hoped it is. But God saved the ship and sent another ship to the port. And Psalm 91 became a new scripter to that deal,

and he discovered as you and I must also discover that the safest place in the world is in the shadow of the Almighty under his wings. He that dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. He shall cover thee with his feathers and under his wings, he shall tell the trust. So promises to Lord and Psalm 91 verse 4 and verse 4 as I take a sip of my water. What's interesting is that the question is, what does God mean by the statement under his wings? And you know, of course, this is just a symbolic language because God doesn't have any wings. And then there are some that think that this has referenced to the way that the mother hens, shoulders and protects her brood.

And you got to remember now that our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, used a similar comparison when he said, how off would I have gathered you as a hen, gathers her chickens under her wings and you and not? Now if you ask me my conviction, my conviction is that Psalm chapter 91 is talking about another kind of wing. You remember how the Psalms began, he that dwells in the secret place of the most high. Well, the question is, where is that secret place? Well, you know, to every Old Testament, and to the good who is Jewish, there's only one secret place. The Holy of Holies and the Tabernacle. And you remember that the Tabernacle was divided into three parts yet, and out of core. And that's where the sacrifices were offered. And then you have a holy place where the priests, they burned the ends since and then the Holy of Holies where the ark of the covenant was kept. And then you got to remember that over the ark of the covenant on the mercy seat

with two cherubines and their wings overshadowed the ark. This is what the Psalmist was referring to, I believe. The secret place is the Holy of Holies and the shadow of the Almighty is under the wings of the cherubine at the mercy seat. You know what's interesting? In Old Testament days, no one was permitted to enter the Holy of Holies except the high priest. And then he could do it only once a year. And if anybody tried to force their way in, they were killed. But today, all of God's children, saved by faith in Jesus Christ, can enter the Holy of Holies. Why? Because Jesus Christ has opened away for you and you and you and me too. And when Jesus died on the cross, the veil on the temple was torn and two and the way was opened into the very presence of God. Think about it. You and I are privileged to dwell in the Holy of Holies, you know, to live under the shadow of his wings.

We don't simply make occasional visits into God's presence. I hope you don't. We live there because of Jesus Christ. And the question is, would you believe if I told you that the safest place in the world is under the shadow, which you got to keep in mind now, provided that the shadow is the shadow of the Almighty. Me, I'd rather be overshadowed by Almighty God than protected by the mightiest army in the world under his wings. This is the place of safety. Listen, my brother and I, so to say, as you re-sombed chapter 91 and I hope that you will, you're going to learn and discover that God makes some powerful promises to those who will live under his wings. I know you will. In the Holy of Holies, for one thing, he promises divine protection. Now, then I mean that you and I as far as the Jesus Christ never experienced accidents or sickness or pain because you know we do.

God doesn't promise to protect us from trials, but protect us in the trials. Remember now, you every say, you either in a trial coming out of one or waiting for one, but the danger of life, as we should journey through this life, it may hurt you and I, but it's never going to harm us. Think about that. We can claim his promise that these things are working for us and not against us. Now, think about one of the promises that he talks about in his word. He should give his angels, charge over the, to keep the in all thy ways. They should very well up in their hands, lift out dashed a foot against his stone. Think about how today's scientific world they laugh at the idea of angels, but not the child of God. I know you're not laughing. Think about it. I say you talk that the angels of God watches over God's children. Now, the angels don't run ahead of you and me and me and you and pick up the stones because sometimes we need those stones.

In the path to teach us to depend on the Lord, but what the angels do is help us use the stones for stepping stones, not stumbling blocks. And I believe that when we get to heaven, we're going to find out how many times God's angels have watched over us and saved our lives. And this is not an encouragement to be careless or a temp God, but it's an encouragement to have less caring, less worried. Think about it. It says, true today as it was when it was first said that a man or woman, a man is immortal in the will of God until his work is done. Out of the will of God, there's danger, but in the will of God, there's divine protection that gives a man and woman, a woman, a man piece in their heart. No matter how trying life may be, think about it under his wings in the secret place, the holy of holdings of body and Christ is. You already know what I'm going to say.

This is where you and I are safest during the storms of life. So please understand, we don't run into the holy, holy and high from life. There's too many people running around missing, turbulent descriptors and the hymns that talk about hiding in God and finding him a refuge in the storm. But we go in for strength and help. And then we go back to life to do as well. Think about that. God's divine protection is not simply a luxury that you and I enjoy. It's a necessity that we want to share with others, but the question is, are you sharing it? Where are you? I've been in the house all of a way. Are you living in the shadow of the Lord under his wings? Have you trusted Christ as your savior? Do you spend daily time in worship and prayer? I hope you do because the safest life and most satisfying life is under his wing. The person, I know is you, or you or you, who lives under his wings.

Now only enjoy the safest life possible, but also the most satisfying life possible. You know, when you look at Psalm chapter 9, it closes with this promise. With long life, well, I satisfy him and show him my salvation. And it doesn't mean that all believers at the house or the faith is going to live to be a hundred. Because the facts prove otherwise. Think about, oh, you have to do look at your bitch words around the globe. Some die before the age of 30. But the long life refers to quality, not just quantity. It means a full life, a satisfying life. Because you can live for 80 years and only you ready for it. Exist. If you leave Christ out, but on the other hand, if you surrender to Him, you can pour into 40 years, three or four light times of service and enjoy it. And that's where the heart set as faction comes from, only to those who live under his wings in the place of surrender and fellowship.

Again, where are you living at today in your life?
