This is Fantasy Football today from CBS Sports. Swap away! Can you believe this? It's a no again. It's time to dominate your fantasy league. It's to the races, play stays at his feet. Just gotta go to the distance. Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath. Happy Friday, everybody. Welcome to the show. The next time I say happy Friday to you, we'll be breaking down the NFC home games for week one. Dave and Jamie, we've pretty much made it. Kind of crazy, right? I mean, how many more drafts do you have left, Jamie? Oh, boy. I'm another guillotine draft tonight. I have one Sunday. No, two Sunday, one Monday, one Tuesday. So four, four five left. Dave? Not nearly as many. I've got an auction draft this afternoon. I've got my Keeper League draft on the seventh.
We have the FFT draft. If we're doing that league again, Jamie, we've got that at some point soon. Tuesday. That's it. I'm keeping my number low this year. My focus is on the job, not my teams. Yeah, fair enough. All right. Well, it's a fun weekend for a lot of people. A lot of fantasy drafts going on. Obviously, a holiday weekend. We are maybe going to do a show Sunday night instead of Monday morning, but we will have a Labor Day show for you in some capacity. And I'll give you a programming update soon. Today on the show, we're going to review our pick by pick series. And I think that's better than a mock draft at this point because we can just give you some takeaways from what we've already done. And I asked on Twitter, what are some of the toughest calls that you've encountered during your drafts? I'll read some of those. Oh, nice. Yeah. And we'll let's get into the news and notes, though. Is there? We had a little bit of a bear's scare yesterday. Romo Dunze and D'André Swift both left with injuries, but Swift, it was just a cramp.
And Odunze is reportedly fine. So we shouldn't care about the bear's scare. I think that's fair. All right. Did you care bear? Yeah, I love that. I used to love the care bears. Just the no one. Oh, no, no, no, no one. To know what's the prize. No one. Here we go. Anyway, text heath. What the hell was I say? Did you guys change your rankings at all for Swift and Odunze? No, I used to love the care bears in quotes. Andrew Destin of the Athletic thinks that George Halani will be the third down back, but also the short yardage and goal lineback early in the season. Okay, Jamie, what's your reaction to that? George Halani potentially being the goal lineback. Look, they weren't going to put everything on Didarian prices plate. They're going to use Halani and Emanuel Wilson to some degree until Zach Sharpen is back. The hope is that price gets the majority of touches
and is not a trap back. So I think you should still go into the draft process or if you've already drafted, have price as a low end number two running back. I would take them as early as round five. You know, I've been drafting a lot of George Halani late just to see what this would look like and how it all will play out. He's still a good dart throw, late in your drafts. And probably by the time you're listening to this, you'll see the last ADP review for our CBS Sports data, along with an early look at the waiver wire. It's a combination of both. And Halani will be mentioned in there just as if you have an IR spot that you can use or if you just have someone that you hate and you want to drop, you can stash, you know, George Halani is among many players that you can stash that are widely available in our leaks. So I think it's just we're in a discovery phase early in the season with the Seahawks back though. That's a great way to play. Okay, but if Halani is,
this is exactly what Zach Sharpen A was. And Kenneth Walker was RB28. He had a good year last year. He averaged 4.6 yards per carry. He played a full season. He was RB22 overall. He was RB28 per game. And basically every format. And that's because he wasn't the third down back. He wasn't the two minute drill back and he wasn't the goal line back. Zach Sharpen A got all the touchdowns, basically not all the touchdowns, but only five for Walker. So if they use Halani and then eventually Sharpen A comes back the way Sharpen A was used last year, then you could clearly see bus potential. Am I overreacting here for Jadari and Price? I think a lot of people are going to be concerned about that. I mean, there's obviously bus potential when you're talking about uncertainty for both sides of it. There's uncertainty and how good Price can be. There's uncertainty and how they're going to use everybody. There's uncertainty on the timeline for Zach Sharpen A. So the thing that you're kind of hanging your hat on is is that George Halani has never really done anything. That Jadari and Price has been a part-time running back
and has to prove himself, but it was also a first round pick and has plenty of talent and upside. And then again, what version of Sharpen A are we going to see when he comes back if he comes back early in the season? So it's just a lot of moving parts. I think when you start to compare him, those other guys in that range of Skataboo who could be in a time share of Montgomery, who as you know, if you're watching, you see the report that there could be an even split between him and Woody Marx with a questionable offensive line that you have a basal toot who could be in a time share and may not even be the better running back in the time share or it could be similar to Price where he's losing touchdown opportunities. So it's that whole round five through round seven group of guys. Ramandre Stevenson is now in this conversation, but we know driving on Henderson is still looming. So I mean, it's just a matter of like, when you want to dip your toe into this pool of backs, how confident and how comfortable you are with MS starters, I would just look at it as there's 400 vacated touches in the Seahawks backfield. If you like Jadari and Price in his situation, you should be overly excited about just that possibility alone.
You could potentially be terrified about the possibility of everything else that's surrounding him with Halani and Charbene. So if you don't want to draft any of those running backs, it's easy to pivot to a driver and then just kind of go back to the next group of guys which might be in a similar situation. Jordan Mason, the commander's guys, the Steelers guys, we talked about this a lot. Sure, and that's one of the tough calls that one of our listeners, let's see. Let's have some fun on Twitter said, tough call is what to do with the mid-round running back. Sometimes you have to take some, but starting at the middle of the fifth, I get nervous. And yeah, I think that's kind of what we're talking about, understood. If you're too nervous, if you're identifying yourself as someone who hates that, then take too early. And don't be so reliant on that group. All right, Ian Rapp report thinks Mike Washington Jr. will be a thing this year. So that's kind of been a study drum beat for a little while here. Yep. Travian Henderson was not seeing it practice. It's obviously could make you feel pretty good
about Ramandre early, because they're a week away from their first game. They play on Wednesday, but Seattle, Seattle, New England week one, those two run defenses were absolutely shut down, lockdown. Or you'll be the best in the NFL last year. I don't know what we're going to get from the running back some week one. We have finally seen Stevenson pass Henderson in ADP. Hey, how about that? Okay, they flowers practiced. Anthony Richardson is Indianapolis's backup, which, man, I don't know from a receiver perspective, if you could have a much worse backup, you know? I don't know. Hey, look much better though in the preseason. Like I think you got to give him a little bit of credit for some of the work that he's put in. Okay. Okay. I mean, look, he's never going to be, oh, hey, look, that's the guy I want to watch throw the football because it's pretty. But, you know, if he continues to work on his mechanics and builds off of what they've tried to do with him, I would not be surprised if he becomes a reclamation project someplace else,
if given a chance to compete for a starting job. And look, Daniel Jones has had a rough time staying healthy. You know, his career. So, could be something that is relevant for the cults at some point this season also. So, dynasty leagues super flex mostly. He still might be somebody you should keep on your bench. Yeah, that's kind of why I brought it up because Daniel Jones does have that injury history. Kames Gadiboo said he thought about retiring after his ankle injury last season. He said he told himself if he had a serious injury in the NFL, that'd be it. But it wasn't thankfully he's back. Dave Texan's beat writer Jonathan M Alexander. Jamie just kind of mentioned this. He reported he thinks that Dave Montgomery and Woody Marx will have a fairly even split. What do you think? I'd be surprised if they had an even split in terms of rushes. And I saw what you were talking about. He thinks they're both going to get 800 rushing yards this year. That would surprise me. If you were to tell me that they were each going to get I don't even think 800 total yards is in play.
Let's call it 600 total yards. I think Montgomery blows past that as long as he's healthy. But I think Montgomery can get there, or I'm sorry, Marx can get there between just catches and playing on passing down, to know how to laugh at that type of role. I think that's his role. And I'd be shocked if they put him anywhere near the goal line unless it was in a specific situation like the hurry up offense, maybe third down, third and goal, something like that. I think Montgomery is obviously still a decent pick, but he's in that round five blob of running back, so you look at and you go, okay, there's a pathway to them being great, and there's also a pathway to them being absolutely terrible. I'd be shocked. I really would be. And I don't like drafting Marx unless it's with a very, very late round pick. Matt Barrow's of the Athletics says that the plan for Dejon Stribbling is for him to be the primary slot receiver and to be Mike Evans understudy as the ex-receiver. They want versatility in their receiving core. He also says that Debo Samuel, what's that? That's interesting because they could just as easily put Debo in the slot.
Yeah, they're probably going to mix a match. If they put Stribbling in the slot heavily, that's a matchup problem for smaller corners, because Stribbling's a big dude. So I, and we've saw him run a bunch of horizontal routes in the preseason. I would imagine that they would ask him to do something that he's also an interesting late round pick. Certainly more interesting than Woody Marx. The Cardinal sign, Michael Wilson. Oh, he also said that Debo Samuel's look good and they haven't been shy to give him carries. He always looks good this time of year. And George Kittle won't play his usual 95% of the snaps in week one, but that doesn't mean he won't play 80%. Just he won't play a full snap, sure. The Cardinal sign, Michael Wilson, to a three-year 70 million dollar extension with 47 million guaranteed. I'm not going to give the numbers since we're running out of time. But Michael Wilson and Parker Washington, same draft class, pretty similar career arc. Michael Wilson first 38 games, Parker Washington first 36, basically did nothing, and then finished with an absolute blitz. It was amazing. And a few late round players that have gotten some buzz that I basically never mentioned. Adon I Mitchell for the Jets,
Rashid Shaheed for the Seahawks, Eric All for the Bengals. I can't imagine people are going to be drafting Eric All, but a name to know, maybe in Titan Premium. And you guys like Adon I Mitchell or Rashid Shaheed better as a late round flyer? Mitchell. Shaheed. Mitchell's been getting buzz all camp long, and I think he's their number two wide receiver. And probably their number two target in that offense. The problem is it's the Jets offense, but if you're just taking shots on wide receivers with late round picks, he's toward the bottom of the list. Like, struggling easy, you're taking him three rounds before you would even think about Adon I Mitchell. Yeah. The thing about Shaheed is they didn't use him enough last year. You have Cup at 33 and another injury for Tory Horton. You want to hear something gross? I like the players. I think that is weird. Not gross. I wouldn't be surprised if Cooper Cup had a decent role, and that could hurt the upside of Shaheed. I thought you were going to say. Yeah, I mean, you can say the same thing about, you know, Sadiq in New York and Omar Cooper,
when those guys are finally up to speed. I wouldn't. There's more of these things. Yeah. All right. So who are, what are some tough calls that the listeners had? John Ceeley says, I had Pickens Collins, London, and AJ Brown fall to me at the two three turn. That's pretty cool. Maybe 10 team league. Pickens Collins, London, AJ Brown. I went London and AJ Brown, but that was a tough call. Did he get it right? 100% got it right. I mean, it's tough call because they're all great players, but I think the upside favors the two that you took. OJ Weber and actually other people too, but OJ Weber, who donated to St. June, will be co-managing the FFT team with Dan Schneider this year. Which two wide receivers? Long time, Donator two. Yeah. Which two wide receivers should I draft at the three four turn? Which two? Yeah. What's your ideal? From March 8th to Pukinacook. I mean, ideally, Devante Smith falls there. Sure. If possible. I love Lab McConkey there. How about Garrett Wilson?
If he's there, Wilson will be behind those guys, but yeah, we'll agree in that conversation. Yep. DJ Moore, Jaylen Waddle, you know, depending on how heavy your wide receivers go, there's so many options there. So I'm looking at Fantasy Pros ADP. These are the wide receivers. 36 through 46. We've got Garrett Wilson, Teterua, Zay, Bern T, Devante McConkey. Those two are at the bottom. That's the fun. No, no way. Devante is 45th in ADP on Fantasy Pros right now. In their real-time ADP, he's 30th. Yeah. That's weird. I think, okay, the real-time ADP is McConkey. These two are, Zayr's is very accurate. Okay. McConkey Higgins, Flowers, Waddle, McMillan, Wilson, Abouka. All makes it. Yeah. My two would be, of those, it'd be the first two for me, McConkey and Higgins. Yeah. If Smith is there or Flowers there, I think they're worth two. But any combination of those type of receivers,
Teterua, they're all correct. And that's like part of the reason why, if you're picking late in round one, you shouldn't be afraid to go RB RB because these are the receivers that I'll make about you. You have to like these wide receivers in order to take them in rounds three and four. But if you're hearing these names and you're going, okay, these guys could be my wide receiver one, wide receiver two. Yeah, this is the reason why starting RB RB does make sense. Or if you go and you just mix it up and you go lamb or Jefferson with a running back in your first two picks, you still have one of these guys as your second receiver. And then you can still, or take two and just go here RB. You know, so you start. Yeah. Chase Brown, CD Lamb, or probably you go Chase Brown, Jefferson in that regard, or lamb, Hampton. I get lamb brown. You could get lamb brown. And then you go, you go to our receivers and so you just go with the here RB approach. Right. But then you're in late round five and we're right back in that conversation. We had six minutes ago. But your receivers are amazing. Yeah, the receivers are amazing. Can't do this in non-PPR, but in full PPR, that works. Well, team 12 did this in the pick by pick that we're going to do. Team 12,
do I have that up here? Team 12 won H&N, oh, sort of. H&N, London, Macmillan in round three, and it loved London round four. But that could have been Maconky. And then got Scataboo and Marsh on Lloyd at 60 and 61, which I just don't think like Scataboo at 60 was a real, like, wow, great pick. But that could have been Montgomery and Marsh on Lloyd, something like that. Okay. That's pretty, oh, one more tough call from Victor. Took Puka at seven, couldn't pass Bowers in round two. So I had a tough call with the running back still available in a 12 team league. Yeah, I don't know. So the running back versus the Bowers? I wasn't sure if he meant the running back in round three. That's what I fit. That's how I'm interpreting it. Yeah, like if you go the first two rounds without running, back, and you have kind of a later pick, or it doesn't really matter where you pick, which running backs would you like to come away with in rounds three and four, maybe just one of those two rounds? Three and four. I think you're looking at Javante,
you're looking at Travis H. DeAndre Swift, Kyron Williams, Jeremiah Love. You know, that's the group of guys you're dealing with either late, around three or early, around four. Breasts is in that range too. Breasts is well, yeah. Okay, I've got some, some comments about me that we'll see if we can save it for the end. One of them is Adam. I'm doing a solo show today. You can just talk about yourself. Yeah, there you go. That's well in New and Eastern. Adam looks like he brings a clipboard to a cookout. What does that mean? I mean, you brought your laptop to a date on the beach. That's also not it was not a date. We will come back after this with our pick by pick series. Were you meeting a woman there? I was. I married her. Yes, that's not a good date. I mean, listen, she loves your quirks. That's the most important thing. But you did bring a laptop to the beach, correct? I did because I was that dedicated of an employee. And I had you wearing jeans correctly. No, I was not wearing jeans.
That's why Nando's an idiot. I was not wearing jeans to the beach. Did you wear some clothes? No, you guys still fight? No, we're still mad. He's still mad at me in some way now. I have no freeing idea what he's mad at me about. He's mad at me and I'm seeing him tomorrow. All right, we'll talk to you. We'll talk to you in two minutes. We'll be back in two and two on Fantasy Football today. I'm going to talk to you right now about Omaha Stakes. And this is a perfect time for me to do it. I have like just a couple of questions because we'll never get to the whole show if we do our normal thing here. But all right, pick one was Jamie, right? Yes. All right, so you took Jameer Gibbs and then you took Brock Bowers and Chris Olave. Why did you decide that was the right time to take Brock Bowers and which wide receivers would have had to have been on the board for you to not take Brock Bowers
at the two three turn? Oh, I would have been perfectly fine taking Olave and neighbors or Olave and Devonte Smith. So it really wasn't a question of which receivers were on the board because there's plenty of options for me. But to walk away with the number one running back and the number one tight end and the upside for both those players, it's hard to pass up. So that's the range that I like to consider Brock Bowers. I think you still can get good receivers as you saw what was available to me in the the five six, right? No, four five turn, excuse me. Terri McCormick was there, Parker Washington was there, Devonte Williams there, like I'm fine with those guys as number two receivers. Just knowing that Bowers has the upside that he has and if we're being realistic here, the ADP suggests I probably have better options that receiver than those guys if I go that route also. So no real run on quarterbacks as we see here with Josh Allen not going to round four. There's probably three or four quarterbacks off the board by that point that pushes some receiver talent back to me or some running back talent back to me.
So I really think Bowers is going to be an absolute monster this season. Yeah, my question though was like if Nico pickens, I'm sorry, you saying if it was the other way around. Yeah, yeah. If it was Nico, I'm just being realistic, I guess, Nico Pickens probably, rice. Yeah, yeah, if Nico like AJ Brown's fine, I'm not going to get to the two three turn, but Nico Pickens, Rice, like two of those three could definitely get there. Would you have taken Bowers in that scenario? Would you have gone Gibbs receiver receiver? I would have gone, if it was Nico Pickens, Olave, I probably take two of those guys if it was any of them or sorry, one of them and Rice, like it was, I would probably go Bowers. So I think I have a Bowers rice in my rankings. So I prefer Bowers over Rice. Second question, Jamie, this is a three receiver league PPR. So we're looking at here as Pick by Pick, where me, Dave, Jamie, Heath, Dan, and Jacob each had two picks.
One pick in the first half, one pick in the second half of the round. So this is a PPR league with one quarterback, one tight end, two running backs, three receivers and a flex. Do you like your receivers, Olave, McCloren, Brian Thomas, Jr. Yes, but you have to throw Bowers in the conversation there just based on what the upside is. So I love Olave. I like McCloren a little concerned about Thomas. So I don't remember who the fourth receiver is. Cornel, it's a very slippery slope as we get down there in terms of who the other players are and since doing this draft, I've dropped Tate even further, so I would have taken Sutton. I think just again, the idea would be, is you have to understand when you take a tight end earlier, if you want to make it a quarterback early that you're going to be a little deficient someplace else. And so my whole in this roster is number three receiver. So the high end potential of this team, though, is number one running back, number one tight end,
potential top five receiver. And then decent number two receiver, decent number two running back, you know, but like this is, I don't know if it's like a studs and duds approach, but it's very high end in terms of if those guys hit to the potential that they're going to hit, like that's what you're looking at for those three guys to, you know, basically carry a lot of what my team's going to be. Okay. And his quarterback has Trevor Lawrence. So team one team one is fun. I came up with a really fun team names for all these. One is fun. Has Trevor Lawrence a quarterback, Brock Bowers at tight end, Jamir Gibbs, Quinshon Judkins, it running back Olave McCloren, Brian Thomas Jr. And the flex will be Rico Dallel or Carl Neltate. Okay. Next team, team two two. I question for you. Yeah. Okay. So go ahead to set up your team. Two loves you is team two. And I took Jamar Chase instead of Bijon Robinson. And I will tell you that if you have that decision, you're probably going to feel a lot more comfortable with your team if you take Bijon Robinson around one, just because the things we've
been talking about for the last eight years, those those running backs, they dry up pretty quickly. What's your question? That was my question to be is so knowing that you can get two receivers in rounds two and three, most likely. Now you took Travis H and a little bit ahead of his ADP and I think we're a lot of people haven't ranked. But if you look at the way that it would have played out, so Bijon Rice, let's say you go neighbors, you like your start better. I like to want to Smith better than neighbors. So Bijon. So Bijon Smith, Bijon Rice Smith or Chase Rice H and Travis H. Yeah. So it's basically a team with Rashee Rice and either Jamar Chase and Travis H and or Bijon Robinson Devante Smith, I would go with Bijon Robinson. So doing again, that's what you would do. Yeah. It's just like just have this thing where it's like I'd rather trust the Bengals offense than the Falcons offense. But I understand most people are going to take Bijon to. Overwhelmingly the ADP. So yeah, you're going to feel more comfortable.
Now, right, the question for this team here is, yeah, I think this is really more for most people who are picking third, but for me it's picking second because I did go Jamar Chase. And if you go wide receiver, wide receiver, what do you do in round three? Because whichever running back you take there unless genty falls to is going to be a quote-unquote reach based on average draft position. Did I take Travis H and too early? I also could have taken Jeremiah Love, Javante Williams, Breeze Hall, Kyron Williams, DeAndre Swift or something like that. Did I make a mistake, Dave, in taking Travis H and because we just talked about all those running backs in round five. I don't want to be so reliant. I don't want to have two guys after the first four rounds. So I'm okay with it, but don't love it. But did I make a mistake with H and in round three? I think you made a mistake on two fronts. Number one, I would have taken Jeremiah Love and his upside over Travis H and I understand that H and was a good running back last year in Jaxful. Really, he got a lot of work. He's in a good offense again this year. We think
we are going to see good things from the Saints and he should be a feature back there. I would rather have Jeremiah Love. I would rather have Javante Williams. Both of them went after H and so I think you took the wrong running back. The second one is you passed up, Tramack Bride, who I'm still believing in as a difference making tie-down for fantasy. Real close to Bowers, if not ahead of Bowers and full PPR. In my opinion, he is ahead of Bowers and full PPR. And if you had gone with that approach of rice, chase and let's say not a running back, you could have just started hammering our bees in round four. It's kind of a zero RB approach. You could have had Quinshot, Judkins and late round four. You could have had Ramandre or Jadarian Price in round five. It wouldn't be the best running backs for your team, but you just think about the studs that you would have with your first three picks and you'd feel a lot better about it. I wouldn't feel about this. Hold on a second. Hold on a second. We have somebody here joining us. I don't want to do this.
You said call me. Yeah, Adam, thanks for mad at him. I am. Why? We're probably skipping the party tomorrow because I don't want to. No way. That can't be no way. Do you hear him? Yeah, he'll see. I guess you'll see tomorrow. You don't skip the party. That's that that's ridiculous. Why would you do that? Why would you punish yourself? What? All right. We'll settle this afterwards. I don't know why you're mad at the believer. It's literally nothing to this man. You know, you know why? No, I don't. I honestly don't have no idea. All right. I'll call you back. So weird. It's so weird. All right. You tell everybody I'm hurt? You know why? I was on the other side. It's so weird, man. I really like I did nothing. What did you do? I told him to not try to sell the posters of my brother, a photoshopped into movie posters, or whatever. I was like, it's not me. It's my brother. I can't do that. And he got mad at me for
that. I don't know. Anyway, all right. So that's just, you know, look, maybe I took the wrong running back according to Dave. All right. Let's just say hypothetically, Dave, I had taken Jeremiah love there. Would you? Okay. Not Javate Williams Williams would have been who I was. I was dead. I was dead. I don't know running back. That's the one I would have taken. Okay. Did you did you consider not taking your running back into going either Smith or McBride? So this is and I think this is a tough spot for people that are picking early and round one. It is a tough spot. That's just tough. So I'm looking at my rankings. I would have taken McBride and I would have had the differentiator at tight end and then just tried to find some running back starting in round four. So let me tell you the two, the two guys that if they had made it back to me in round four, I would have been comfortable with going receiver receiver receiver or receiver receiver tight end. But no, again, Jamie always says no here drafting with. I didn't think they'd make it to me and they didn't. 80 p says they have a better chance of making it to you. So you have a second pick or the third pick. You take Jamar chase, you take a wide receiver, then you take another wide receiver or
a tight end. Tramock bride. If Bucky Irving, not in that or if Deandre Swift or Bucky Irving had made it back to me in round four, if I had felt confident that they would be there, I would not have taken Travis H and in round three. But I didn't think they would because I know this group and I just felt like they go earlier and they did Swift went mid round four, Bucky Irving went two picks before mine. So those were the two guys that I was thinking, okay, if I could get them as my RB1 in round four and 80 p says you could. So maybe you don't have to, don't have to do what I did. I just didn't think they'd be there. I didn't want Quinch on Juddkins to be my RB1. There's one other point if I may make it. Yeah, and then we'll move on to team three. H&N is your guy. You believe in him. Yeah. You like you want him on your team. That might be the most important point we make here. When you're drafting this week and take your guys, get the guy you want. You don't have to follow 80 p. We talk about it all the time. I think Jamie just mentioned it recently on one of our shows. Me. It's just something huge. When you when you like somebody, don't worry about 80 p. Get your guy.
And if H&N was your guy, then you shouldn't care that. Oh, I like Javante Bay. You shouldn't care about that. Just get your guy. All right. Pick three. What is it? Oh, pick one is one is fun. Pick two is two loves you. Pick three is the broken skull crushers. Three loves me. Broken skull crushers. B. John Robinson, AJ Brown, terrific start, Tramick Brot. Was this you, Dave? Yeah. Okay. Tramick Bride. This is a team what I want to take. Tramick Bride, nearly round three. A lot of people would and Tramick Bride. So this is a team that has an elite tight end and a top five top three quarterback in Drake May with your first six picks here. So May went really late. I don't think you're going to expect him to go late in round six most straps. But how do you like your build investing a lot in a tight end and a quarterback for six rounds? I don't have a problem doing that in the first six rounds. This is going to sound nitpicky, though. I do have a problem and I've found myself having problems when I take a top tier tight end and a
top tier quarterback within my first five picks. There's something about that difference between the first five picks and the first six picks. You get just a little bit more breathing room to build your roster and your lineup the way that you want to when you're not taking the onesy positions a little bit too soon. So I made it a point round five. There wasn't a quarterback I would have taken in that spot anyway. So I knew that I was going to wait a while. Plus I wanted to get wide receivers. This is a three receiver league. I wasn't interested in taking a quarterback in rounds four and five when I knew I needed to target wide receivers. I loved the start. I've had maybe a little bit of buyers remorse over DJ Moore ahead of Quinshaw and Judkins. I would imagine that in a full PPR league by the time we get to the end of the season. It'll be close between those two and the reason why I was jittery is because my number two running back is Chakory Krasky Merit. And Jamie talked about you're going to have a week spot on your team somewhere. I opted for my week spot to be RB two. The way that I combat that is the thing that I do in every single draft I'm in. And that just take a lot of running backs late and hope that one of them can be my RB two.
To begin the season fingers for Krasky Merit next round after I got Merit. I got Mike Washington Jr. If there's a world where Ash and Gentie doesn't play in week one then obviously Washington Jr. would be my RB two. But I love the start. I love the stack of May and AJ Brown as well. And in a full PPR I think this is a really, really good team. Don't know why you took chase over Bijon Robinson Adam, but I'm grateful that you did. Yep. So team three again if you want to wait on running back he takes Bijon Robinson as the hero RB. Jacory Krasky Merit and Mike Washington in rounds seven and eight and Zach Sharbenay in round 10. Najee Harris in round 13. But it's the starting lineup is Drake May. Tramack bride. Bijon Robinson, Jacory Krasky Merit and then a terrific trio of receivers AJ Brown, DJ Moore, Parker Washington and the flex is probably court and sudden. We should probably revisit this if you had taken Bijon two and I took chase at three. Because that's going to be what happens in most leagues. Most people are going to get your
March a set three. If I take chase at three do I still take AJ Brown and late round two. In this case I believe I will. Yeah. And then in round three do I take Trey McBride or do I take Javate Williams. It's a tough call between those two for me. I think I'd still lean McBride over Javate. But then I would absolutely not take DJ Moore in round four that would be Quinshine Juggins and then Washington versus one of those running backs in that round five range. Price Montgomery, Tutton, Ramandre. That's a tougher call for me. I'd probably take the running back there instead of Parker team four four scores more. This is one of the two teams that did a wide receiver wide receiver wide receiver build. And this is a three receiver league but you could do this in a two receiver league as well. So team four went receiver receiver receiver and then four straight running backs. And it's Pukinakua, Nico Collins, Malik neighbors, Bucky Irving, Ramandre
Stevenson, still Jadarian Price, Basial Tutton, Cam Skataboo were on the board but but team four wanted Ramandre Stevenson, Jalen Warren and Jordan Mason. And then Stefan Diggs, Dejon Stribling. My only beef with this team is like I don't think you need to take six running backs or five wide receivers before you take your quarterback in your tight end. I don't think you have to have Kyler Murray and Dallas Goddard. Jamie, so I think I love the first seven picks. Puka, Nico, neighbors, Bucky, Stevenson, Jalen Warren, Jordan Mason. And then after that, I mean, I feel like you could take you could take a higher end tight end like well, Kelsey got it whatever, it's not a huge deal. But I'm looking at the quarterback. I could have taken Dak Prescott, could have taken Trevor Lawrence. I don't know. It's I understand waiting on on those positions, but I think this team waited too long. Well, potentially, I mean, you know, unless you just have that I'm just making Stan. So you probably have that strong feeling. I think it's Jacob. That was Jacob. Okay. I mean, they probably share brand. Yeah. Very long. You know that Kyler Kyler is
you know, I know favorite of Dan. So I assuming Jacob probably likes him also. So you're just getting the quarterback that you like. You know, so that's the case. And you have a grade on Kyler that's similar to some of those other guys. Then you just waited out as long as you want to. I love this bill. You know, I you got to get a little lucky. And I think you do here by getting Irving Stevenson, Warren and Mason. Like you could have four starting running backs there. Two that could still qualify as a very good number two running backs. Irving Stevenson, two that could be high end flexes or number two running backs and Warren and Mason. So it worked out well. Assuming that the three receivers do what they're capable of doing. So if you're comfortable enough with this, you're going to feel queasy. But if you're comfortable enough with this, like this is what you want to do at the three spot, at the four spot, at the five spot, potentially the six and seven spots, depending on, you know, where those, you know, picks go with, you know, JSN and Amara St. Brown and how the running backs fall to you. So you see it happen again, two picks later with with the JSN selection. So at six. So it can work out really well, but you got to get lucky with the running backs. I think obviously if you're watching this, it's easier to see them just listening. It's easier to
follow along. YouTube.com slash fantasy football today. So also on the site if you want to follow along, why are you listening to good. Thank you very much. But yeah, team four went receiver receiver receiver team five went running back running back running back and team six went receiver receiver receiver. So we'll see which builds we like better. We'll talk about team five. We're going to take a little break here and then we'll talk about team five, which is team number johnny five. And there's no way Dan gets that reference. This is Dan's team. But yeah, I think we definitely think that this three receiver build works for you. Puka Nico neighbors, Bucky Stevenson, Warren Mason. Yeah, again, I think you can probably go a little earlier on quarterback and or tight end, but Dallas Goddard and Kyler Kyler Murray, you could do worse. All right, we'll be right back to talk about team five, which is running back running back running back and the fatal flaw that this team might have. And I don't want to call a mistake, but something you might not want to do when we come back on fantasy football today. So we like the three receiver build three receivers with
your first three picks at pick four. Do we like three running backs with your first three picks at pick five Dan picked Christian McCaffrey, Ashton Gentie, Jeremiah love, and then a mecca of Buka as his wide receiver won. And no risk. Yeah, we've got two ankles and a toe there and Christian McCaffrey when Christian McCaffrey is the healthiest player on your team in the first four picks, that could be a little much. But just the build of McCaffrey, Gentie, love, Abuka, Jamison Williams, Quentin, Johnston, Kyle Pits, Justin Herbert, and then flex. Oh no, we already have our flex and love. Yeah, that's it. That's your starting lineup. I like it, Dave. McCaffrey, Gentie, love, Abuka, Jamison, Williams, Quentin, Johnston, Kyle, Pits, Justin Herbert. Dan's playing for first or last. He's not trying to take any safeguards. He's willing to take the chance on Christian McCaffrey. He's buying the dip on Ashton Gentie and Jeremiah love.
Answer this question. If Gentie had never been hurt, would he even be in this conversation in mid to late round two? If Jeremiah love had ever been hurt, would he ever be in the conversation of early middle round three? Yes, yes. But I don't think Gentie probably would have been in the first round. Maybe, but I think he's buying the dip on Gentie and love by getting them in these spots. In Abuka, we should throw him in the mix too. Is he a late round four pick? If he doesn't hurt, yeah, Abuka felt, I don't think love, this was kind of the range for him to begin with. And Gentie was anywhere from round one to this spot. So it's a little bit lower. He loves ADP being closer to the two three turn. Maybe. It doesn't matter. I wouldn't constitute this as a dip. I think if you're getting him late round three or early round four, that's falling from where he was. The thing that I just don't love about this, no pun intended, is like you're passing, I would have taken receiver in round three,
especially with the Montaix misdaren in face. So like you go those two running backs, they're great. You could have easily, to me, the lineup looks a lot better, but it's McCaffrey Gentie, Smith, Abuka, Jamison, and then if Quint Johnson's your flexor, you want to go another running back. They're like, I like that a lot better. You could have had Warren ever running back or Pollard. All right, but it could work. Obviously, the round two pick has to be one of those top 12 running backs. If not, you're not taking them and Gentie's probably going to be 12 at this point. But McCaffrey Gentie, Jeremiah Love, that could have been Javante Williams instead. Ameka Buka, Jamison Williams, Quint Johnson, not bad, and then Herbert. Sure. All right, moving on. Let me just add, this wouldn't be my favorite way to build, but I don't hate the idea of I'm going to shoot for the moon and get as many high upside players as I can early. We always talk about getting a high upside players late. Dan's applying that to literally every pick that he made. And team six, go, Nick's is Jeremiah, no, is Jackson
Smith and Jigba. May shouldn't it be next to five? Oh, like for team five, but I love making a Johnny five reference, you know, yeah. Why talk about a generational championship when you can refer to a average 1980s movie? Because I did it with team six. Team six is six, go, Nick's. Jeremiah, geez, I did it again. Jackson Smith and Jigba, George Pickens, Zayflower. So this is the other team that went receiver receiver receiver. This is Heath's team. I'm pretty sure. Yeah. James texted me during our IDP draft yesterday that I drafted four of his six most draft, most rostered players. Oh, that's tough. In an IDP league. In an IDP league. Because we were on opposite ends, I think I think I had the second pick. I ended up with Pickens. Pits. No. You didn't get pits. Oh, maybe you did. It was Pickens, Burton. I don't remember, but as he was like, I said, I said, maybe I'm using your rankings.
Sounds like you two are going to make a trade down the line. JSN Pickens and Flowers. So the difference between this team and team four, team four went receiver, receiver receiver, and then four running backs. Team six went receiver, receiver, receiver, and then running back, tight end, running back, running back. So three running backs with the next four picks. And again, a quarterback in round eight. So another good build here. It's Jaylen Hertz at quarterback, Sam Laporta at tight end, JSN Pickens and Flowers at receiver, DeAndre Swift, Jonathan Brooks and JK Dobbins at running back and maybe Flex could also flex DK Metcalfe in there. We have Woody Marx. We have Brock Pertey on the bench, straight Tucker. So yeah, another way you could build the team. It's pretty solid. But what do you think about going to war with DeAndre Swift, Jonathan Brooks, JK Dobbins, Woody Marx and Dylan Samson, Dave? I'd be nervous about going to war with them, but this is the price you pay for going receiver, receiver, receiver in the middle of the draft. So round one, you're obviously
you're in the middle of every single round. And getting those first two receivers, this is almost the same thing of what Jamie talked about with Dan's team. When you start your team with JSN and Pickens, that's great. Like no one's going to complain about that duo. But do you even look at Javite Williams, who was available there? Do you look at Breast Hall? Do you look at Kyron Williams? Because you might be able to get, you could definitely could have been able to get one of those guys plus Neandre Swift. Then you don't have Zay Flowers. He took Flowers in round three because that's one of his guys. And so I can't fault him for that. I would have taken a running back there. But if he had taken DeVote Smith instead of Zay Flowers, Tiggins instead of Zay Flowers, I would have liked it a lot better. I wonder how he would have felt if, because I decided to take Josh Allen and run four, I felt he just felt too far. That would probably, in most cases, be DeAndre Swift for me because I'd take him in almost every draft. I'm guessing he would have gone Judgins. If what? He might have gone Allen. If I had taken Swift. He might have gone Allen.
But let's assume it's not a quarterback. Does it look as good as if it's Juckins? Over Swift? No, I'm not. Swift looks... I'd rather have Swift. Yeah, I think Swift fell a little bit in this draft. So, let's see what he's all about. It just like that kind of saved him, in my opinion. Okay. I agree. Well, that helped him for sure. Well, let's see. I mean, I don't know that he fell. The real-time ADP for fantasy pros is 46 for the... Well, I mean, we can't judge that because we're the quarterbacks, are. I'm just saying, are we using the real-time or not? Why wouldn't I use the real-time? No, I'm saying you can, but it's not realistic of what our drafts are represented. Our drafts. Like, if it's going 38th. NFC, he's going 45th. Over the last week. So, I think it's pretty realistic that the Andre Swift is there in the middle of round four. Yep. Let's see. SBS ADP 38. 38. Yeah. Yeah. We should just hire there.
I don't know what the reasoning for that is. But, okay. All right. Team six. Oh, wait. Just to compare teams four and six, as they both might receive a receiver, then a running back. But Team four has Ramondre Stevenson as RB2 and Dallas Goddard at tight end. Team six has Sam Laporta at tight end in Jonathan Brooks's RB2. Anyway. Team four has better running back depth though. So, for whatever he loses from Laporta to Goddard, his depth that running back is way better than what he has. All right. Pick seven here, which is seven minute abs. This was Jamie. He took Josh Allen in round four, 42nd overall. So, that's the only quarterback he would have taken there, right? Oh, for sure. Okay. This is a pretty balanced team. Team seven here. We've got running back or you got receiver running back receiver quarterback running back. Receivers, you're starting Allen, likely who you took 90th overall. Derek Henry and Jadari
in price. St. Brown, Devante Smith, Marvin Harris and Jr. My question for you here, I guess, would have been, what do you think is a better start? Amon Ross St. Brown, Derek Henry and Devante Smith, which is what you did or Amon Ross St. Brown, AJ Brown and Javonte Williams. So, it's Henry and Devante Smith in two and three or AJ Brown and Javonte Williams in rounds two and three. What's a better start for this team? The way I did it. I agree. Dave, Henry and Devante Smith. I don't have a problem with the one bit. AJ Brown and Javonte Williams, which one would you prefer? Yeah. Henry and Smith is good. Okay. Yeah. This is a really good team and the quarterback value just staring him in the face. Honestly, I don't think we have to talk about this team that much. Let's go to pick eight. Sorry, I wasn't trying to shortchange you, but nothing but running backs and receivers in the first seven rounds. And then George Kittle in round eight, John Johnson to back up,
George Kittle. The pick on this team, that's just kind of ridiculous, is Dak Prescott, 113th overall. That's not. Yeah. As AP is like 59. Yeah. So, you can look at this team and say, do I like this team if that pick is Jared golf instead of Dak Prescott? But yeah, so it's Cook, Barkley, T Higgins, Kyron Williams, Christian Watson, Chris Godwin. One thing I'd point out about this team is that it's a PPR league. And we've got James Cook, Sequan Barkley, T Higgins, Kyron Williams, Christian Watson with the first five picks. None of those guys are catch standouts. Is that does that matter? I think that's probably a little bit of a nitpick, but like the expectation is that cooking Barkley should be more involved in their offense as catching the ball this year than they were last year. Higgins, if healthy, will offset some of the reception issues with his
touchdowns. Kyron, I think, is just amazing value in round four. I think that's him falling that far, or falling to that spot is good. And then hopefully you get just healthy seasons from Watson and Godwin. Like, you drafted very well here. You could probably say, okay, maybe you don't take Kyron since you went running back, running back, and you had the chance to take a book or DJ more as one of those, I think high end wide receiver two, especially of a Lucas healthy. But I think you covered yourself well, just how it fell with Watson in round five and Godwin in round six. So you did really well here. I wouldn't worry about like, oh, I don't have a strictly past catching running back as one of my two or three guys where I don't have a high reception total guy as one of my top two receivers. I think Godwin could be that guy, but it's questionable. So I really think you did a great job here just capitalizing on some great value picks and guys that just give you such tremendous options and just to compare the two teams in seven and eight because that was me and you. Are you in my excuse me? That you waited on quarterback and ended
up with just a steal. So to go back to knowing who you're drafting with, I, when the minute I took Josh Allen and I didn't see any other quarterback go until Lamar Jack was like, oh man, I hate this. You know, like it and not do a Josh Allen just taking that position. And so then seeing you take Dak Prescott where you got him, like, if I took DeAndre Swift there, like I love that team even more knowing that I could have gotten. Let's just say all the quarterbacks get pushed down and I take somebody else where I took let's say Marvin Harrison. Yeah, last point I'll make about this team. If you're in a league that starts two flexes or three wide receivers or something, for me, the ones I feel the most comfortable with, those of me, they're going to be the best. But the ones I leave them like, okay, I like this team is the ones where I pretty much wait on both quarterback and tight end and just load up on running back and receiver. And then drafting Kyron Williams a cook Barkley Higgins and then Kyron and round through in round four instead of a Boca or DJ Moore. That allowed me to skip rounds five and six at running back, which we talk about is the Ick rounds and taking Christian Watson and Chris Godwin. I just,
I was really happy with those two picks, preferred them so much to at the running backs I would have taken there. All right, except I really do like Marcia on Lloyd. If he had made it back to me in round six, I would have had to have taken him even as a force running back, but that's just me. All right, number nine nine team nine, torture demon L ride or nine saw the sign. So Dave, pick this one. Shout out Wesley Willis, RIP. You went running back receiver, running back receiver Jonathan Taylor, Justin Jefferson, Javante Williams and Garrett Wilson in retrospect. And then you got Tyler Warren 57, which was really good value. And then David Montgomery and Joe Burrow 81, which is insane value. It's a great team, but was Justin Jefferson the right pick. You went Taylor one Jefferson over Barkley and Henry and Gentie. Then Javante Williams and Garrett Wilson, do you think in retrospect, Justin Jefferson was the right pick in round two? Not only do I think it was the right pick. I feel like I got good value on every single one of my first seven picks in
this draft. I loved this team. I think Jonathan Taylor should go before ninth overall. I think Jefferson is, I mean, it's a little bit of a value for Jefferson. This is about the range that he's going to go in, but I've seen Jefferson late round one early round two. Javante to me is an early round three running back. The fact that he went late round three is good value. Garrett Wilson, this is about the range for him. This is about the range for Tyler Warren. I thought Montgomery, we talk about Montgomery in the round five Ick. Well, he's a round six stick. I don't know. I sure as hell, I'm going to take anybody that I'm nervous about taking in round five, but I can get them in round six. That feels like a win. Then I practice what I preach. Joe Burrow felt like an absolute steal in round seven. Good pick here. Again, a very balanced team running back receiver running back receiver. Now as we get toward the one to turn and we have picks 10, 11, 12. We've talked a lot about going RB, RB wide receiver wide receiver if you're picking late. And team 10 did exactly that. Team 10 wins again. Chase Brown, Kenneth Walker, Luther Burden,
Lad McConkey. And if you didn't love the Luther Burden pick at 34 overall, that could have been Mick a millen or Waddle or McConkey and maybe get Garrett Wilson or Obuca in the next round. But Jamie, we know we like running back, running back wide receiver wide receiver. With pick 10, we have Bayesville, Tutton over cam, Scataboo in round five. Do we think Scataboo fell too far in this draft at 60th? We never saw Tutton go ahead of him. Do you think team 10 made the right call taking Tutton over Scataboo? I have two and over Scataboo. Yes, I co-sign that. I'm nervous about Scataboo just with the committee and what this could be for him. So committee potentially in Jacksonville, I think the offense is better in Jacksonville. So despite maybe some schedule concerns, I would still take two and over Scataboo right now given the uncertainty for both. But yeah, I think this build is great. Brown and Walker are awesome two of my favorites. Like you said, I would have probably flipped off the receivers and just taken Makonky first, but get Makonky in round four is amazing.
And so if you don't love those two receivers could have had Makonky and Wilson could have had Wilson, Makonky, whatever, Waddle or Tet any of those guys make a ton of sense there. Even Obuca was available. So I love this build. I love this team. If there is maybe a nitpick, did you take craft over maybe another wide receiver just because we start three receivers in the sleigh and could you have come back and take another tight end in the next round. But I think it just ended up in a really good spot. If there is a hole, it might be wide receiver three, but if you love downs and pitman and that combination just sort of mixing and matching it, you should be great. Yeah, that was actually my question for you, right? So this is a really good question and a tough call for teams picking late here. Chase Brown, Ken Walker at starting from the 10th pick, Chase Brown, Ken Walker, Luther Burton, Lad Makonky, Basil Tuton, was Tucker Kraft the right pick at 63 overall could have taken probably a wide receiver there to get your number three wide receiver. Mike Evans had just gone off the board, could have taken Chris Godwin, Marvin Harrison, Jr. Quentin Johnson, Brian
Thomas, Jr. Those are probably the only wide receivers in play there. If this team 10 wins again had taken Chase Brown, Ken Walker, Luther Burton, Lad Makonky, Basil Tuton, Chris Godwin, you now have three running backs, three receivers and in round seven, you could have taken maybe Harold Van and Jr. But almost certainly George Kittle and Isaiah likely. In fact, 80 pieces, you can get Isaiah likely in round nine or 10. Is that better than taking Tucker Kraft 63rd overall Dave? I think it is by a little bit. I don't mind Kraft in early round six, one bit because I think he can be, I think he can finish as a top three fantasy tie to end if he can say healthy and if the Packers run game can't get going. But those are ifs and I think I would have preferred taking like if you really value Evans and even if you don't, you could have taken O'Dunzee where Jacob took Tuton and then you could have gotten one of those settle for RB2s where he took Kraft or you have just taken Kraft and hammered running backs in round seven, eight, nine.
And remember, this is a three receiver league. If you're in a two receiver league, then it makes that craft pick, you know, you're more palatable, I suppose. All right, team 11, team 11 and team 12, uh, both started similarly. 11 went 11 is heaven went lamb and hampton and 12 on the shelf. Couldn't really come up with anything. Yeah, that's what everybody calls their. Yeah, like 12 H and London. We'll look at 11 here lamb and hampton, jalen waddle, breeze hall, romo dunze, mic Evans. So you've got your starting running backs and your three receivers and a flex in your first six picks lamb, hampton, waddle, breeze hall, romo dunze, mic Evans with with your first six picks, Harold, fan and junior in round seven, Patrick Mahomes in round 11 and Malik Willis in round 13. I guess Jamie, we could say maybe this team could have gone kittle and likely over fan and but whatever. How about Patrick Mahomes and
Malik Willis as your quarterback duo because other than that, I don't know how you can be upset with lamb, hampton, waddle, maybe you don't like waddle there, but there's whenever pick a wide receiver, mcconkey breeze hall, odoons, a Evans tight ends, Jordan Addison for depth, Chris Rodriguez, Emmett Johnson. I think it's really good, but Mahomes and Malik Willis did this team wait too long to get quarterback. I did, did they take Mahomes over somebody better? Goff. Okay, so I would have preferred goff. Have you told me he's golfful, then a plus plus and staffer to yeah, I would have taken either those quarterbacks over my homes, but sure. But this is like any comments on this build, do you like this team? Like it's built a lot. Yeah, again, you could swap out some of the players, so like I don't mind waddle in that range of receivers. I would have preferred mcconkey, so he take you put mcconkey there and you know, then breeze hall in round four is great odoons, a you know, you can clearly debate odoons a versus Evans, but I think odoons a is fine as somebody is healthy, swap out fan in for Kiddler lightly. That's great. Addison that spot is perfect. You know,
so just keep going down and you know, the quarterback is probably just the biggest issue. What is better as a as a build for pick 11? What did I say? I said, oh, he so he this team took London and Hampton. Which which lamb and Hampton and Hampton? Sorry, took lamb and Hampton. Okay, okay, okay, I'm sorry. This team went lamb Hampton, Waddle Hall. What's better? That build or this team could have had H and Hampton, Waddle and Mcconkey, you know, the running back, running back receiver receiver, or in this case, lamb Hampton, Waddle Hall. So in both teams would have had Hampton and Waddle, but would you rather have lamb and breeze hall with Hampton and Waddle, or H and and Mcconkey with Hampton and Waddle? I think this is evidence that Dan doesn't subscribe to the all or nothing kind of theory that he did with his earlier team. Remember, he's
the one that took McCaffrey, Gen T. Love. He bought the dip on on all those players that got some injury history going on right now and there's huge upside with them. This feels a little bit safer and I don't hate what he did. Knowing that when you take lamb in around one, he's the last elite wide receiver. You can make the case for Jefferson too, I guess, if you really like Kyler. I would have taken lamb here and then I probably would have hammered running back just as he did with Hampton and round two. And I don't mind his team. I would have taken McConkey over Waddle. The build, that's what you're asking about. I mean, look at you know, I have a better person. I need to build that. The build that he went with is fine, but if he were to really like lean into upside only, H. Anne would have been the pick in round one. Walker would have been the pick in round two. And then in rounds three and four, I probably would have taken Loveland in round three and then McConkey in round four. Okay. And Dan said on our mailbag, which you'll hear Saturday that Hampton is his R before. So he loves him. Right, right. Okay, let's look at team 12. There's the difference
of team 12. We can compare these two teams, right? Lamb Hampton, team 11 was Lamb Hampton Waddle Hall and team 12 was London H. Anne or H. Anne London, Mick Millen. So we got receiver running back receiver for both teams, but team 12 takes Colston Loveland and team 11 took Harold Fanon Jr in round seven compared to round four for Loveland. So did team 12 on the shelf do the right thing. H. Anne London, Mick Millen, Colston Loveland. And then I mean, I love Scataboo Lloyd at 6061. I don't know how you guys feel about that. Yeah, it's very good value. And then Jane Daniels at 84 is insane. The quarterback value in this strap was insane. So I think I think it worked out pretty well. If you just look at those first six picks of taking London and still not really feeling all that week at running back with H. Anne Scataboo Lloyd, but are you weak at receiver London, Mick Millen,
and then Alec Pierce, who by the way, practiced in full and Debo Samuel later in the draft. Jamie, what do you think about how the London, how the Loveland pick at the 3, 4 turn changed this team? I love the build. I don't love the players in particular, but I love the build. Like, you know, so for me, if it was Walker instead of H. Anne, if it was AJ Brown instead of London, if it was Maconkey instead of Mick Millen, then, you know, the players, I think, separated, but the build is great. You're going to get a little lucky here because while I'm concerned about Scataboo's 60th overall is still a great value, especially for somebody's ADP was a week ago at 34. And Lloyd is all over the map, you know, in terms of where he'll go at this point is ADP is still in the 90s, but we know that's not very realistic because he's just continuing to climb. So knowing your draft and knowing that quarter back, you're going to go late. You have a borderline top five quarterback. You have a top three tight and you have, you know, again, if you believe in H. Anne still top 10 running back no matter where you, you know, I'm down on him, but I still consider him that. So the build is fine. It's just a matter
of, again, where's your hole? So your hole could be RB2, your hole could be wide receiver three, your hole could be flexed, but at the same time, you could have hit home runs at all of those spots. So I think the build is absolutely fine. Yeah, nice work by Heath on the shelf. All right, we have a YouTube poll. Heath does a good job. So if you, if you like, following people that buy, you know, you talked about this, I think Dave said in about Travis H. Anne, like you buy into taking your guys. I don't think there's anybody who does it better than Heath does because Zay flowers. You see middle of round three probably a little bit early, but, you know, ahead of some other receivers that I think we'll go ahead of him in most drafts. He's going to get his guy. He's going to take Laporta. You see it, you know, Heath talks about this lot. You see here he loves Drake London. He loves Devon H. Anne. He's going to take those guys. He's going to take Teterol, Mcmillan over some other receivers that might be better. So if you believe in that strategy and that theory, you should follow, well, I mean, again, you could get trouble. We've got to have conviction with your picks. You got to like players, you drive. I have a good thing. You could get trouble. And I think one thing, you know, that he's
also does a good job of is when he does that to an extreme, then he starts to diverse file a little bit. So like in the IDP draft, he didn't take Laporta. I'm sure on purpose. And took opets, you know, so good to have a little bit of diversification with your rosters. If you do a lot of drafts, you only do one draft. Go get your guys. Yeah, that's the thing I was going to say. If you have a lot of drafts, there's just been too many times where I haven't gotten my guy or I've gotten someone I didn't like and it ended up being a really good pick. I mentioned the Tucker craft pick from last year. I hated that pick. It was one of my best picks in that super flat league. I got a run. Okay. I couldn't agree more in terms of trying to get players that you know, I'm enough of so so far. And I do this with players that I don't like. So last night I had a draft where I was keeper league draft. And I was not expecting to take me, Catherine. You know, I'm not the biggest McCaffrey fan, but there were a lot of players off the board. It just made the most sense to take him in the first round where I took him the second time that this happens to me where I took me, Catherine, just what I thought was good value. I don't have Devon H and in any league yet. So I'm going to try and change that because I don't want to miss out if I'm wrong. And I like
Barclay. I just have not taken Sequan Barclay at all because usually I end up taking Walker and Hampton ahead of them. So actually the player I was hoping to take instead of McCaffrey last night was Barclay. Like I was planning out the draft on my head. I'm like, Oh, Barclay would be there. I finally get Barclay. I'll get that card. Oh, I'm not going to take Barclay over McCaffrey. I tell you, I've got three drafts left, I think, and I need to start drafting more cowboys. Be it Dak, Lam or Pickens. Lam's going to be tough, but Pickens is the one I really have to start drafting. I do like him and I never take him. Yeah. And I really want to. I have a funny thing last night. So my friend, he'll appreciate the shout out. My friend Brett Frankl. I was drafting at his house for the league that we're in together. And his son was there who's 15's name Spencer. And so he has as keepers, Javante Williams and George Pickens. He drafted Dak Prescott. So he's and he's a very animated guy. He's all in on the cowboys. So then he takes Brandon Aubrey and his son looks at him 15 years old Keith. And my son looks at him and goes, what are you doing? Your counteracting exactly what you want to happen. You want them to score
touchdowns. And now you're banking on their kicker scoring field goal is as good as he is. And I'm like, he gets it. I appreciate this 15 year old schooling his father explaining exactly how it goes. That's funny. I should do some research on like the best red zone teams. Do their kickers still do well? Whatever. Like is the high extra points that counts? You do, you do. All right. The the YouTube poll. Who is Adam's favorite care bear bedtime bear, grumpy bear, or oopsie bear or other? I don't remember a single care bear. You know, there was the care bear movie that I used to watch and I was like six or something like that. But I wasn't really that big of a care. But I'm going to go with oopsie bear. I think we should call Nando back and settle this. What the hell? No, I don't get it, dude. I didn't do anything. He came out and humiliated me for an hour on the air. And I told him to take, you know, that I didn't want those posters online. And they're talking to me. No, this is crazy. No, we're calling him. Hold on. All right. Other stuff. I wanted to tell you, I'll be live in 42 minutes for a little Q and A programming. Next week, we're
going to start focusing a little bit on drafts, but also week one. We got games on Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday, and Monday. We've got a YouTube live stream every Sunday morning from 11 a.m. Eastern until 1 p.m. Jamie, are you going to be what's your Sunday looking like? I'll be on. I'm sure for a good portion of it, but I don't know exactly yet. Okay, but I didn't know if you're doing HQ stuff or what? Yep. Okay. So you'll be doing that. Also CBS Sports Network every week, Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon Eastern. Okay. Anything else here? Oh, we do stupid comments about Adam looks like he's a let's see Adam. Adam looks like he has a Costco membership card on a lanyard. I go there for a pitted cherries for my root salad. I go there for the hot dog only or the dollar hot dog only. I go there for bulk sanitizer. Yes. I would never go anywhere other than like a really good deli or bagel place for locks and bagels. So you're wrong about that one. I go to
Costco to people watch. Adam looks like he takes off his shoes at parties without asking. Yeah. I'm most people that in my like circle, we're all shoes off people. You come in my house, you take your damn shoes off. Oh, wait, here we go. Oh, all right. All right, we're at the end of the show. Let's settle this. Why you mad at Adam? I know you're still on air, man. I don't want to talk about it in front of all these people. There's no case. There's no why you you're shy all of a sudden? Well, yeah, I mean, my kid was very personal stuff in there. It was not. I don't know how to talk about it. Yeah, person. No, he's already brought it up. Person, no for me. I don't know, man. I just feel the first and second year in a row, he tried to make me miss this show. That's not right. And then like I spent all this money on posters and credits on perplexity to make these posters. Not even a thank you. Just you got to get rid of this stuff. Dave tries to auction the stuff off for charity. He's like, no, I don't like say Jude. Oh, God.
It was all just very rude. It was very, very rude. And then he never asked how I'm doing, Jamie. You did ask all the time. Azer's never like, hey man, how you doing? So, yeah, I hope that's not true. But if it's true, I'll do better. So, one way friendship. A one way friendship, the guy who humiliates me every time he gets a chance, just humiliates me. Tell stories about my family that I don't want. Tell stories about my wife that I don't want to be on the air. It's a one way friendship on my end. I'm sorry. I will do more of what I will be more like you going forward. I will start humiliating you and your family every time we speak. The stuff I can hear anything you say. I just hear family over over again. This sounds like a good way to make up with each other as you can, you, you, uh, you say, not just so you let you know, the whole, the whole chat is saying, team Nando, I stand with Nando. Oh, thanks. They'll love you. So does Godfish. Okay. All right. Well, that was a really uncomfortable. Thank you, Jamie. All right. This is my job to make you fun. I love you, buddy. I hope you're doing okay. Something like that. I don't want to be cool.
Same reason. It's got likes, everybody. Love you, buddy. I'll talk to you later. Have a great weekend, everybody. Um, and good luck in your drafts. See you later. You Caramount podcasts.
