It is another Whiskey Quickie, we'll be drinking some bourbon from our buddy over at Mashin

Drum.

Oh Jason, can you believe it?

What are my favorites?

Taking a page out of our playbook and coming out with his own brand, learning things the

hard way.

Yeah, welcome to hell.

Didn't we tell you to not do this?

I'm not sure.

I was kidding.

No, this is very exciting, we're happy to be able to do this, talking about Drum Key Spirits.

This is the brand coming from Jason Chloria over the Mashin Drum and this is his first

ever released called The debut.

This is a Kentucky small batch blend of hand selected, seven, eight, and nine year old

barrels coming from Green River and it says that these were coming from the distillery's

most legendary and seldom revealed rechouse locations.

I don't know who you have to know to be able to go and see those rechouse locations, but

apparently he's in better than us over there, so I've talked to Ron Miles.

Yeah, what's up?

See what's going on there.

But the final proof on this blend is 123 proof and has a price tag of $180.

All right, I love the packet, Drum Key, because he was a drummer, right?

Jason?

Yeah, I mean, that's what Mashin Drum, but he's got a whole thing of drums going on in

this logo over there.

He's got a beautiful signature, way better than yours.

I mean, listen, I am, I'm worse than a doctor.

I understand that it's chicken scratch at best, but it holds no value.

I can tell you that for sure.

But let's go ahead and dive in with the nose.

It's nice like toasted oak.

There definitely is that.

Getting some herbal vivaciousness coming in there too.

I don't know if I'm getting herbal.

A lot of dry fruits, but it's like you take a brown sugar cube, crush it up.

It's like the wrong way to make it old fashioned, but you get those aromas of orange cherry,

crushed up brown sugar, and a little bit of water.

I don't know.

Have you ever smelled that when you make it like the old school way?

All it's missing is a bright red maraschino cherry at this point, right?

Yeah, but it's got some nice maraschino cherry notes on this nose.

Well, let's go ahead and dive in with the taste here and see what we're thinking.

Oh, nice.

I mean, it leads with some like, I'm getting a lot of tea vibes today, but anyway, this

has some nice citrus herbal tea that toasted oak is strongly pronounced.

I know these aren't toasted barrels, but it has like, if you loved toasted barrel kind

of vibes, this has that.

There's this strong, like anything with green river has like the strong apricot, orange

type of flavors, and then it's just got a really nice like subtle finish of like baking

spice, but oak, a little bit of cinnamon, but yeah, this one's this one's elegant.

I like it.

I've everything you were talking there.

I was trying to pull it out of my head and I just couldn't do it, but there is some

nostalgic reminiscent candy note that I get in the very back end of it that just kind

of like just pops.

I don't know what it is though.

I was like, I was like, is it a fruit roll up?

Is it this?

It's not there, but I can't think of what it is, but there's second tip.

I'm getting like some strawberries and cream, like almost like a like a strawberry shortcake

kind of flavors too.

That's really nice, because I'm a huge like, it tastes like one of those like summer fruit

parfaits that have like, you know, the sponge cake, whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries,

blackberries, we've ever had those.

In my house, they were called angel food cakes.

Well angel food cakes for whatever sponge cakes.

Yeah.

Similar, but yeah.

Yeah, it has like this beautiful parfait note that I really like.

Yeah.

Well, very good.

I was kind of thinking of the same thing in my head.

You said that and I was like, I was like, oh, in my house, we call it angel food, but

angel food.

Yeah.

How about it?

You're an angel kidding.

It's the beard.

But with that, let's go ahead and let's rate this.

So on the nose.

Thumbs up.

I really liked it.

Yeah, I think it's great.

On the taste.

Thumbs up.

Really enjoyed it for sure.

And the finish.

Thumbs up.

Really like, I mean, this is a really like elegant whiskey.

I mean, it's got the sweet, fruit spice, some nice oak thing.

It's really well done.

Yeah.

Awesome.
