Michigan State gears up for a Sweet 16 clash with UConn—can the Spartans’ defensive prowess and rebounding edge neutralize Dan Hurley’s challenging offensive schemes? Matt Sheehan and Carter Elliott break down the pivotal matchup, spotlighting the battle between Cohen Carr and two-time national champion Alex Karaban, while also weighing concerns over Jeremy Fears’ turnovers and Michigan State’s half-court execution.
Key topics include UConn’s inconsistent perimeter shooting, Terrance Reid’s interior dominance, MSU’s ability to force “dumb fouls,” and the Spartans’ success limiting second-chance points against elite opponents. The conversation probes Michigan State’s offensive strengths, the importance of mid-range shot efficiency, and whether Fears’ All-American talent will carry the team past UConn’s formidable defense. Plus, don’t miss spirited debates about the best point guards in Spartan history and the shifting outlook for Tom Izzo’s squad on their March Madness journey.

Hilton, for this day.
We're talking about all things Michigan State versus Yukon.
What makes us concerned about the game?
Where do we see Michigan State advantages?
We talk about it all with the one the only Carter Alliet, let's party.
You are Locked On Spartans.

I'm Matt Chianna.
Welcome to another episode of Locked On Spartans.
Thank you all so much for tuning in and making us part of your daily routine right here on the number one ranked Locked On Podcast Network.
Guys, like I said right off the top,
we will be joined by the one the only Carter Alliet of Sleepers media
because we are going to turn every stone on Friday night's game.
Michigan State's offense versus Yukon's defense.
Yukon's offense versus Michigan State's defense.
Where the advantages are.
Where the cons are.
Let's get to it all with the one the only Carter Alliet.
Always thrilled to be joined by the one the only Carter Alliet of Sleepers media.
But I have to say there's a little bit more anxiety around this conversation.
This isn't the San Diego or the San Jose State game.
This ain't Cornell anymore Carter.
This is a sweet 16.
Can I just get a quick vibe check from you before we go any further?
Are we doing okay?
I mean, I got a sweet 16 game on the horizon against a man who has won two of the last three national championships
and is widely regarded if not the best, not anywhere outside the top five coaches in the sport.
So besides that, I mean, I'm right.
We're here, man.
We're going to take a look at both sides of the court.
Michigan State's offense versus Yukon's defense vice versa.
We're going to look at every single portion of this game.
But Carter, I do want to do an exercise.
I think we've done something before.
And look, this is as much of podcaster to podcaster as it is friend to friend here.
Okay, because I think in order to move forward here, we just need to get our nightmares out in the open.
We just need to say what we are most scared about with this game.
And I think it's going to help us.
It might help the listener.
It also might not who's to say, are you ready to say your nightmare because we'll both say ours at the same time.
Let's just we'll just get it all out there.
So let me know when you're ready for your nightmare for this game.
I'm ready.
Do you want me to go first?
You want to go first?
Oh, we're both going at the count of three.
Okay.
This is going to make for some horrible podcasting.
But I don't care at this point.
Are you ready?
One, two, three.
I'll just care about it.
Jeremy Fears has another four turnover game.
And also we can't find anyone else to be his sidekick because you kind of really hard around the perimeter.
And we don't really generate our own shots.
And then I'm going to go home upset.
I'm going to wake up early in the morning.
I'm going to be making pancakes for my kids.
There's going to be tears all over the pan.
And then my wife is finally going to have enough.
She's going to say, I can't do this anymore.
This is not healthy to raise a household with a man in here.
Who's mental health is decided by college games.
What have you thought about that one a little bit?
Yeah.
I know, yeah.
I know, yeah.
So I don't care, man.
Is what you said.
Let's start with this then.
Yukon offense first Michigan State defense.
Yukon's offense ranked 27th in adjusted efficiency.
Michigan State's defense 14th in adjusted efficiency.
I have a lot more like nuanced takes as we go on.
But this is my laziest one.
What I'm concerned about.
Yeah.
Alex Kareban.
Braylon Mullins.
Like that's got to be the highlight for this matchup.
Husky's offense versus his defense.
It's just as simple as that.
Right.
Alex Kareban holds the keys to our demise here.
Doesn't he?
He knows because he's just such a tough check.
I six eight.
He does a little bit of everything.
And if you haven't watched Yukon the past years or this year in general,
as far as it comes to running sets.
And I mean, it is screens off.
Back door dribble handoff into a fade into a double screen.
It's like for whatever amount of time you're on the defensive possession,
you have to be on your pees and cues at all times,
mentally, you know, thinking the game.
And you know what, for a large portion of this year,
that has been one of my biggest gripes with common car.
This elite level athlete, but a defensive end of the floor.
I think he falls asleep at times, right?
I think that he has times where he doesn't necessarily use that
athleticism as a defensive prowess.
And he's the guy who is built and shaped and has the athleticism
to check Alex Kareban.
If he can't do it or he doesn't do a great job at it or the best job
and he can do, we really don't have many other options.
You don't want to throw any of the freshmen at him.
That doesn't sound fair.
Alex Kareban is one of more games and a lot of people in
the two-time national champ.
Throwing Jordan Scott and Cam Ward on him sounds really,
really mean.
I rather not do that in large catches of the game.
Jackson Coler, we don't want him running off screen.
Coop has to deal with a 6-11 dancing bear down low and
terrorist breed.
So you really got to have, you know,
I think Cohen Carr doing an incredible job on Alex Kareban.
And that's the biggest part of me because, you know,
when you look at this UConn offense,
do you say 27th in the country?
You're like, okay, that's not that bad.
That's really bad by UConn standards.
Like this is typically a top 10 offense in the country.
And here's the portion of it that scares me the most.
I think even outside of Alex Kareban.
It's that solo ball and Braille and Mullins remember
that they can shoot.
Yes.
Solo ball shot 42% from three last year on one of the highest
volumes in the country.
He's shooting 29% from three this year and he looks broken.
Like mentally, it looks like he has the yips.
And Mullins is one of the greatest high school shooters
I have ever seen more evaluated at the high school level
in Indiana last year.
He's shooting 33% from three.
That's unlike him.
That's like him shooting 33% is terrible.
He's a 40 to 39% guy.
So that has limited this team's offense this year to where it has been.
Alex Kareban has had to do a lot.
Silas Demri's had to fill in when he came.
But also he's got a hobble ankle right now.
He's probably not 100% and then terrorist breed down low.
Like throwing it into terrorist breed and kind of led him score.
But I think you saw in the UCLA game that sent doubles at terrorist
breed.
I thought that it worked and that game kept them in it.
If they're not hitting shots.
So, you know, it's a challenging UConn offense given the schemes.
And also this is the fact that they had guys that can make shots.
But what's hindered them the whole season is that guys that are supposed
to make shots are not making shots.
Like, I'm going to miss you.
The state's a better three point shooting team than UConn.
You don't usually say that.
No.
It's really not.
You know, I actually had the safer later in the chapel.
Let's just talk about it now.
And it's a more likely question, Carter.
What's more likely terrorist breed and Eric Reiba combining for 85%
shooting from the free throw line.
And these guys are both below 60% on the season.
Or yeah, is it solo ball who like you said has been struggling and actually
to zoom it in even closer in the last four games.
He's been two of 18 from three point land.
Is it just inevitable that he's going to go four of seven on Friday night?
Like, what's more likely the two centers actually shooting good free throws
or that solo ball just rediscovering who he once was as clear here?
This is crazy to say.
I legit think it's the centers.
I think solo ball is right now broken bass.
And you know, Dan earlier shifted away from the solo ball play 13 minutes
in that UCLA game and sports zero points, zero points.
And he hears the thing about solo ball.
He is very shooter shooter, right?
Like if he's not making a shot having him on the floors in that negative.
So they've shifted the Jane Ross a little bit more in that spot.
And Jane Ross has really stepped up.
So that's a definitely going to be a factor in this basketball game.
But yeah, they they they might just completely move away from solo ball.
And now I can't wait for the six for 10 performance is going to hit like
absolute crack and break me.
But I don't think it's going to happen.
It's going to feel like a cannon to the chest when that takes place.
This is what we live for.
Look, this is not all doom and gloom.
We do want to talk about some things that we do live because I not to speak for you Carter.
But there are some things that I certainly like a lot with this matchup.
But specifically with MSU's defense against Yukon's offense.
I really enjoy looking at the stats here.
And also just the gameplay of both these teams with Michigan State's chance
to limit the second chance opportunities.
I mean, how I like Furman could have.
I think Clint Yukon if it wasn't for this dancing bear that you referred to earlier terrorist raid.
I think that this is going to be a little different than the Paladins for Yukon though,
because Michigan State by all accounts, one of the best rebounding teams in the nation.
Whether that's statistically or with your own eyeballs.
I think Michigan State can really secure what they can do with limiting the second chance points.
That's where I have the biggest ray of light.
Do you want to go more like matchups here with the advantages?
Are you more on the rebounding style of things?
Where do you see the big advantage here?
I do think there is a massive step up and rebounding that is going to be seen.
And like when you look at Yukon as a rebounding team,
it's not like the worst in the world or anything like that.
They're good.
But they're good on a massive sample size of playing a bunch of big East teams.
And I think that there was play a factor in this.
The best front court and they're a great front court.
Edge of four, Mitchell, Bryce Hopkins.
But outside of that, they're playing Butler front court seat in the hall.
I mean, the big 10 level of front court is just something a little bit more.
It's a little bit different style of basketball.
So I also think that Michigan State, especially if we're going to get this new version of Colin Carr
that we got in the tournament so far.
Nine rebounds, ten rebounds, double double Colin Carr.
I think that outside of Caravan and outside of Terrace Reed,
those are like the two guys that are pulling in all the rebounds on this basketball team.
So Michigan State gang rebounding, Michigan State getting the rebounding,
getting out and run too, as well.
Like I want to make Terrace Reed run up and down the floor.
I want Silas Demory on a bum ankle to be chasing Jeremy Thears.
And this is also a Yukon team.
And I was talking to Rob Doster, the Yukon fan about this preview as well.
He pointed out, he's like, yeah, this Yukon team is susceptible to dumb files.
My ears, I said what you said, dumb files.
That's great.
We are dumb file inducing university.
I love that.
We will have Silas Demory and Terrace Reed on the bench with two by the first media time out.
When Jeremy Fears stops on a dime a half court, you're running after him.
Like that is definitely something to watch in this game.
But to your point, against an office like this,
that runs this great stuff.
They want to play slow.
They want to play in a half court, getting those stops and getting out and running
and getting the co-incard dunks and the trail-colored threes.
And Fears going to the hoop.
I think that's where Michigan State will operate best.
And there are stats to actually perfectly, you know, just spell out that yet they kind of do struggle.
Struggle might be a loose term here.
But when you look at the top 50 teams that Yukon has faced,
their rebounding percentages go outside of being ranked in the top 50.
Whereas Michigan State against top 50 opponents for them.
They're still squarely in the top 20s.
So it's not just Michigan State piling it up against, you know, bad teams.
We know this, but there are the numbers that actually also back that up here.
I'm Clea Butler, host of Lockdown Women's Basketball.
And this is Mazda's Women's Basketball snapshot.
Subriding the work no highlight reel can ever capture.
All four number one seeds, Yukon UCLA, Texas and South Carolina have completely dominated the opening rounds of the NCAA tournament.
Yukon rolled with a 98 to 45 victory over Syracuse behind AZ Bud,
who had a 34 point explosion while South Carolina has been led by Joyce Edwards coming up a 23 point game.
UCLA leaned on Lauren Vats with a 35 point performance in a 87 to 68 win over Oklahoma State.
And Texas advanced comfortably with a 40 point show from Madison Booker.
And now we're headed to the sweet 16.
These moments are earned off the clock, those long before the lights ever come on.

Okay, I assume Michigan State will have some offensive possessions in this game.
So let's talk about the Spartan offense against Yukon defense and just a zoomed out look Michigan State 25th.
Overall, the nation in adjusted efficiency Yukon a little better.
13th in defensive adjusted efficiency and my concern is what I just rambled through at the speed of an auction year earlier this show.
I am a little bit concerned about it.
It's not three point shooting the percentages are there.
It's a top 50 shooting team in the country.
That's right.
Our Michigan State Spartans aren't as bad as some people let them to believe.
But none of these guys really create, you know, and Yukon is really good at limiting three point shots.
They will funnel people to that free throw line.
So I do get a little worried.
Well, guys be able to create those three point shot.
If Jeremy Furious isn't able to serve everything up on a drive and kick platter.
Something Yukon offers many driving kick opportunities.
That's where my concern goes right away.
Yeah, I mean, for me too, like I just spoke about how Yukon uncharacteristically isn't the same on offense.
The flip side of that is that they're a lot better on defense than they typically.
Unfortunately.
It's been a weird Yukon year.
Like they've been a defensive team for the most part of the year.
And people have been waiting for the offense to catch up and for them to hit that level.
But it really hasn't.
But they have, they have really earned their money defensively.
I mean, Care Bands, a versatile defender.
Silas Demory is a great defender with great hands as well.
They bring in Malachi Smith, the Dayton transfer of the bench.
He can defend Jaden Ross 6-7.
They got a lot of like guys they can throw out there on the wing as well.
Braille Mones is an underrated defender.
I think he's got better throughout the season being a freshman.
So, you know, for a team that's as well coached as Yukon and Dan Hurley,
they're going to want to make this a half court game.
And they're going to say Michigan State score on me in the half court.
Like, you know what?
If you want to score on me in the half court, let's see it.
Let's see what you can do.
Let's see if you can knock down shots.
Let's see if guys can make moves.
And now there's ways.
I think Michigan State can definitely attack in the half court.
But you and I have watched enough Michigan State basketball to know that a lot of the losses that we have incurred.
This season and over the past couple years is we just have zero answers in the half court.
And once it comes, let's say this.
If it comes down to half court execution between us and a Dan Hurley team,
I get, I get scared.
I get scared because that's not where I want to be.
Right.
I actually have a hybrid one.
It's like concern and also something that gives me hope here.
So if you could just help me figure out my decision for me,
is that be awesome, man?
Because like I said, like we've seen,
you can, they, they enjoy funneling teams inside the three point line.
And hey, if you want to take the lawn to go ahead and take it now, Michigan State,
no stranger to taking the bayon that is a, of course, low efficiency shot.
Any analytical basketball mine will tell you that's the worst shot in basketball.
However, I'll be damned Carter.
Like Michigan State, not, not too bad at shooting lawn twos.
I got to say they got three guys that are over 40% at shooting lawn twos.
So this could very well be the game.
Like Michigan State, where the 15, 17 to 20 lawn twos that you will make.
Can you make at least 40% of them?
Like her tang no stranger to that Jeremy fears Carson Cooper can stretch it out.
Jackson Kohler, you guys know the players that will take these shots.
Like I can't tell is this going to be a bad thing?
A good thing?
But I also think it very well could be the deciding factor of this game.
And if Michigan State can get to 65 points here, I, I don't know how to feel about this Carter.
Look, Josh Langford laid the groundwork for the.
Yes.
And Michigan State never ever forget toe on the line was better than nothing.
I watched it.
I'll answer that if they hurt if they hit the first couple of mid-range twos.
I will also reach out.
They missed the first four and tell you to make arrangements.
Yeah.
Plans because I don't think I think we'll have a free weekend to be honest with you.
What gives you the most hope because I've got a very boring one.
And at first I'm like, oh man, a lot of this game is going to be a Jeremy fears hands.
Like they're not going to crash in a double on him.
He might have to score his own way.
But at the same time, like listen to who I'm talking about.
I'm talking about second team all American Jeremy fears.
Like if the game is going to be more in his hands than it has ever been the season.
I actually don't hate that.
So that's where my hope lies.
Yes, Jeremy, the assist might not be there on the perimeter.
But can you shoot in the mid-range?
Can you score at the rim?
You've seen it done.
It's kind of where my hope lies here.
Yeah.
Is that a fool's line of thinking there?
Well, I think we, I think we won.
As Michigan State fans, we want to ball in his hands.
Like that's what we want.
That's where we're right now.
That's our guy.
That's our first team all big-time player.
That's our dual and all guy.
That's the floor general.
That's who that is.
And it is going to take a really, really special performance by him in this game in a very big spot.
Two.
And, you know, fears has been a player who I think you look back to November.
And in the big games, he had let downs.
You know, the Duke game, he wasn't that great.
There's other games that we played early on the season where he just wasn't really that great.
I just think that he needs to come one, one come out in this game.
Hot.
I think some games this year, we have seen where he kind of like, let's the game come to him a little bit.
And you're like, just go, go, go take it over right now.
Go do it.
Go do what you want to do.
Get your shots up.
You're going to have the mid-range.
You're going to be able to pass in this game.
I think he needs to also smell a little bit of blood.
Side of his memory, I get him all the credit in the world.
I thought there was no chance that he would play in that last game after seeing that ankle injury.
And I commend him for doing so.
It shows the toughness that he has.
That ankle won't be 100%.
It will not be 100%.
And Jeremy Fears is one of the fastest quickest players in college basketball.
So I think he needs to take advantage.
I think he needs to operate quickly.
I think he needs to be able to get downhill if he has that mid-range shot.
Take it.
But it all starts with him.
I think he needs to set the tone.
And he needs to be that all-American level player in that first team.
Well, a big time player that he can be.
Six straight games, though, with three plus turnovers.
Obviously, he had a bundle over the weekend.
But he still generated 27 combined assist over the weekend.
He's still one of the best players in America.
Shia even be concerned about this turnover clip that he's been on or just chalk it up to the game
and playing 36 plus minutes every single night.
Yeah.
I mean, listen.
He's a high usage player.
I think turnovers do come with it.
You just want to cut down on the silly ones.
Like, I texted you this last game.
My coach just said all the time is like Carter singles and doubles.
Like, stop.
Yeah.
Wanted to throw home run passes all the time.
I then proceeded to continue to throw home run passes.
I was on the bench.
It was because there's nothing like making a home run pass.
There were a lot of fun to make.
But it's just a simple thing.
Like, you don't have to, you do not have to, like,
would it be great if you hit Carson on the run?
He catches it and doesn't transition.
Yes.
It's fun.
You don't have to force anything.
Just play your game and you know what?
He knew that he's like, you know what?
I might have five turnovers this game, but I got 16 assists.
So what are they really going to plan about?
Right.
Yeah.

Michigan State and you kind of play this game 10 times.
Michigan State wins this game.
How many times?
Well, let's let's play an ad game right now.
What do you think?
Go.
They win the first one.
That's the only one that matters.
I'll say that.
It is.
Yeah.
That'd be cool if they did.
I go.
I go six four Michigan State.
Okay.
Yeah.
I feel a bit about that.
Safe to say of like we're both on the more optimistic side.
Despite like you're talking about our nightmares and concerns.
But you know, when you shake up everything that we just poured out.
Is this a happy cocktail or a sad one?
Because like I.
I don't want to say it too loud, but.
I don't.
I don't.
I don't.
Okay.
Here's the best way I can lay this out.
The scariest part of you about Yukon is obviously Dan Hurley and what he is and what the type of coach that he is, right?
Yeah.
And the scariest part about Yukon is a version of Yukon.
We haven't seen.
Incorrect.
Like a couple of months.
Like we saw it in maybe baby flashes at that big 32 point victory over St. John's.
I also bounced back and lost St. John's by 20 and the biggest tournament.
Sure.
And at the end of the year with a banner on the line, you lost to this year's shock of smart team.
Like that.
That's a real thing.
So I think when you bring up the scariest version of Yukon, which is still a version that Michigan State could win, I would say that.
But this version plays two guys who are supposed to be shooters who aren't knocking down shots.
And a point guard that's hobbled like that's a real thing.
He's injured.
So, um, you know, at risk of just coming into this game, like confident.
I think as a Michigan State fan, a Michigan State player that you should option.
Michigan State player should have level confidence.
Michigan State fans in general, you know, this version of Yukon that we have seen.
You should like that matchup and the way we can operate in that.
And we didn't talk about in the offense event.
As much as I'm scared about caravan on the offensive end.
I'm also looking to throw it in the Jackson Coler in Alice Caravan.
And check Jackson Coler.
Now, Dan Hurley is a great coach.
She buys God of this.
That doubles.
Come in at Jackson Coler.
What?
If Jacks can handle it and figure it out.
We're not looking at a Michigan State team that has guys that can actually shoot now.
So, if we can shoot, then, you know, we're going to kind of render that double inefficient.
Then, you know, we have numbers possibly.
So, um, that's really what it is for me.
It's like, you're scared of the version of Yukon that we have not seen consistently.
So, you should feel good as a Michigan State player.
Kind of speaks to the whole region, honestly, like it's scary logos.
And you know, deep down inside of all these teams, even before, you know,
so the big ones got eliminated that when they're at their best.
Oh, they can be cutting the nets down by the end of this whole thing.
So, of course, there's always a sleeping giant.
But I think there's also something to be said about Michigan State too.
I, sure, Louisville defensively, I thought they were just fine.
But offensively, I don't think it was necessarily a perfect game.
No.
So, hey, there's also one message yet to come too.
It's a pretty young this man.
Turn the ball over a bunch.
And, yeah, I think the, you look at the Kempop stats here.
It's like very indicative of like what this final four is as a whole,
but also this matchup.
This is the ninth and tenth best team in the country going at it.
It's a tossable basketball game.
You have two Hall of Fame coaches.
You're playing in DC in the bright lights.
You know, it's a toss-up type of game.
So, I think both teams should feel confident.
Both fan bases should feel confident.
It's like it's going to come down to execution between two Hall of Fame coaches.
Two great players and Alice Carebent and Jeremy Fears.
And then you kind of just let it, let the cars fall as they make.
Have you let yourself even think about the St. John's Duke matchup?
Or let yourself even care about who wins that game?
Or you just so rattled like myself where I don't even have like rooted interest yet.
I haven't even thought about what a potential elite matchup can look like.
Or do you have your eye already that far in the future?
And you have a rooting interest in this red storm versus blue doubles game here.
My first rooting interest obviously is getting there.
That's that that's first or most.
I'm also I'm wired like a psycho in some ways.
I want I want to do I want them again.
I want them again.
My point guard had one of his worst games of all time in his career.
And I had to listen to Duke Twitter accounts say things about him be mean to him.
I want my get back.
I want my get back.
And that's the way I want it.
I don't you know saying I don't even want the easy path to the hard path.
I want it.
And it's like the the mystique to that you get with DC Duke just all happening again, man.
It's it's going to be.
If it happens, I will let that get ahead of myself.
No, Carter, I do want to end on this note.
And of course, like all good shows, you got to bring up content that happened like four days ago here.
And this was tweeted off the official March madness account.
This was after the Louisville game.
And look, I'll try to describe this for all of our podcast listeners here.
Basically, they just said, here's some great Michigan State point guards, which I got to respect a little bit.
Usually these style post arts to like statistical.
Like, hey, here are guys that scored 20 a game or average tennisists in their opening weekend.
No, this was just what you do around the bonfire with your buddies and you just start naming guys.
They basically just said iconic Michigan State point guards.
Here are eight names.
Magic Johnson, Mattine Cleaves, Denzel Valentine, AJ Hogard, Scott Skiles, Cassius Winston, Winston Marcus Taylor, Jeremy Fierce, Jr.
I've got a few questions here.
My first one is, Carter, was I in a coma, like 2008 to 2011 and Kayla Lucas never existed.
Is that a, that's what has happened, right?
Because he's just been erased from all over here.
The guy that's from Detroit that played point guard and she said that made it cool for other guys from this area that's a go to Michigan State.
That's the one.
Yeah.
Like that.
Like, you know, all American Kayla Lucas, the one that like took us to a final four.
That's the one.
Yeah.
Instead of the point guard that legit took years off my life for four years.
Also the one.
Yes.
Okay.
Yeah.
Drew Naisle should be punching air somewhere.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Yes.
Like we're missing Drew Naisle, we're missing Kayla Lucas.
One time for my guy Travis Trice to the Chris Hill erasure.
I will not stand for North set for a coma.
Well, we're blessed to have a lot of great point guards in our history here.
I got no problem with most of these guys, but like Marcus Taylor, phenomenal player.
We was one and done.
Like that was ultimately a very disappointing decision that he had.
And really kind of messing things up from Michigan State if I'm not mistaken.
If I can remember 20 years ago correctly, I don't know if I'd have him on top eight.
Necessarily.
Who am I?
Yeah.
It reads a little bit is like they tag Brock and said for you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's like that's that's what it is.
I will say this though.
It had it.
It's for a good conversation.
I was having a great break over at my co-hosted sleepers media.
Like the trajectory that Jeremy fears is on.
If we start making Mount Rushmore type stuff of machines and point guard.
You got to look at this just now.
He is in his second year of Michigan State as a full time point guard.
He has won a big 10 outright.
He has been an all American.
He's been a first team all big 10 or he is on pace to break the cis record.
He has set by Brady Smith.
This year still has to play out.
He had a Lee Aperth last year.
Who knows what we need to do this year.
The trajectory looks great coming into next year.
Like when we make our Mount Rushmore of Michigan State point guards.
Right?
Obviously you got Magic, Matin, Zell.
Like there's other great point guards.
Like we just saw that list.
Fears is like on the trajectory to go there.
And for this season, people were split on what it's going to look like.
But now like, it's crazy to think this might be the worst version we see of Jeremy fears.
And Michigan State uniform.
With the way his three point percentage has been ticking up the last 10 games of the season.
Yeah, stock is only still somehow rising.
That's amazing.
I'm so blessed to have him as my PG.
Life just can't possibly be better.
That's not true.
Life can't be better.
That would require a win on Friday.
There's help here.
That'll not to get greedy.
But yeah.
That's fine.
No, this is the time to get greedy.
This is the end of the show, which means that we're a little closer to tip off Carter.
Thanks a lot.
I'm sorry.
I was just so wound up this episode, but I can't help who I am.
This is not the most mentally healthy time of year.
For me, but I appreciate you spending a half hour in the Thunderdome that is locked on Spartans here.
We got this right.
We can do it.
We're going to, we are, we are fun.
Yeah, we are in a great position.
They're going to roll the ball out.
We are going to, you know, maybe get a coffee and a quicky on with this 10 PM tip, of course.
Yeah.
But we're going to be locked in.
And I like, I like our chances.
I like, I like us.
I like us.
I like us too.
I wouldn't want to be anyone else but us as anything you want to plug here for me.
Let you go and enjoy whatever's to come the next few days.
No, I mean, look, we got previews and recaps over on Super's Media YouTube channel of every game that's happened in March.
If you want to check that out.
And I'd also like to take this time to just set my, you know, my thoughts and my condolences to fans of teams that have free weekends.
Very nice to.
But you and I have sweet 16 plans.
Not everyone has.
Some people are like, you know, going to the portal and doing like other things like that.
We'll get to that, you know, we have things and things to do here.
So, uh, congrats to all the people in this week's 16.
If you're not in it, I could just couldn't do me.
That's all I got to say.
