Wow, and just a whole lot more that I'm not going to list. But without further ado, allow me to introduce to you all D. Shell Parker. How are you doing today, D. Shell? Hello, hello, hello. Thank you so much for having me. It is a pleasure to be here and I am absolutely well to that. I will not complain. Absolutely. And I want to say this before I even move any further that I'm a firm believer that time is one of our most precious assets. And for you to decide to spend even just a moment of your time here with me on a lightening power it evolved. I just want to extend my sincerest gratitude to you. Thank you very much, D. Shell for being here. Welcome. Welcome. Yes. Yes. Yes. So let's get right into it. And we're going to ramp up already. No, to some of the stuff we were talking about earlier. Yeah, yeah, hit people over the head with some of this, some more of this truth. If they don't know, I want them to be like, if you don't know, now you know. But before we even go there, let give us a little background.

A little ramp up as to you being an international speaker. Start there. And then I want to hear about you being an author of what you are the author of. But start right there. Absolutely. I think the speaking component of my work and the many aspects that I wear evolved organically through my work and throughout my career, there was always something that would light up in me when it was time to talk or turn it on. And I didn't necessarily know that or even think about it or even ask for it or want it. I would shy away from it. But there was always this dynamism, you know, let me make up my own words that would come when it was time to speak on something that I was passionate about. And so it's just been within the last couple of years actually that I began to take it more seriously and embrace it as a career and put my learning hat back on and get involved with some programs and consulting and partners that actually helped bring me out of my shell,

no pun intended, they show and help me really hone my skills and make the right connection so that I can make it a career as opposed to something that was an accident that I did unintentionally. Now it's with intention and purpose. Amazing. Thank you for giving us a bit of insight on that and that is absolutely amazing. And please don't take it as I'm rushing us along, but I have a feeling that we're going to cover so much so I'm going to move right along. Now you're an author. Give us some insight on your literary works. Yeah. Absolutely. So this is my debut work. Congratulations. It is teaching memoir. Thank you so much. It's called Why She Like That. And it is actually book one in a three book teaching memoir series that was organically grown. Like speaking, I've never set out to be an author.

In fact, my story I come from humble beginnings and my mother would always say to me, you're going to write a book one day, you know, you need to write that book and I would literally laugh at her out loud and say, I write a book that is not on my path. That's not in my story and things would happen. And she would say, Oh, girl, you know, they need to be in the book and I would just giggle and I would say mama, I'm so ashamed of these things. I don't even want to know them. So I started damn show ain't going to write it down and share it with nobody. So I was on that path the most of my life. And then I say within the last five to 10 years life kept life in a way that started to shift my soul. And at one point I literally had to surrender and say, Okay, I'm going to write the book. I'm going to write the book. And it started with book one, but there's more to the story. It's just more to the story. And I realized that my story, my lineage where I come from and this lineage wisdom is

not mine to hold. It's actually a platform that you stand on and share to help heal others while you heal in the process and then you change the world using your story. So no longer lost in my stuff, but I stand on my story now and use it as a tool to not only speak and share, but to really help heal others. Because I am not the only one who has these stories in their line. You know, I just allow me to elaborate on that. I have come to the conclusion, the perspective that we all have stories. And I feel that through our stories, I mean, the adversities, the successes, we have a responsibility to share with others. Now some people might not think that like this is mine. And to eat your songs. This is not a call out. This is not, but I'm just giving my perspective that because we never know who we're going to impact. And like you just, like you just mentioned, you're not the only one and you're not the only

one that can identify what you're not not to make light of what you're saying, but to even add more value to it. You're not the only one that can identify what you have encountered, what you have been through in your journey. And that's part of the reason for this podcast as well for me to highlight extraordinary people like yourself and for people to hear it and connect with it. So we all have stories. That's how we connect with people we have. When we authentically share our stories, our wisdom, what works for us, whether it works for someone else or not, I believe that just having different perspectives and help us to elevate in some way. So just, yeah, you being you, you are authentic self and being vulnerable and being willing to share is an amazing thing. And I just encourage even more people to come out with, you know, with their stories

some way. It may not be in this format, but, you know, yes, amazing. Absolutely. Absolutely. I 110% agree. And then it's also around connecting with our elders storytelling is a huge, powerful tool that comes from our lineage and putting pen to paper. There's power in that pen. There's power in the tongue and there's power in our stories. There's all my writing these stories down and not being ashamed and lost them. I'm also honoring my ancestors and those that came before me because I come from a long line of women who survived, what should have broke them. And their stories deserve to be told. There you go. There you go. Thank you very much, Dichelle. Also you're the founder of the woman who return movement. Give us a little insight on that. Absolutely. Well, that is another organic masterpiece, if you will, that came from me starting to

put my work together. I, as you know, I have the degrees in social work and leadership. And so I spent most of my career almost 30 years now as a social worker, turned executive, working in government corporate as well as community based organizations. And so the number of lives that I've touched to people that I've seen walking beside these people wondering, how are we so different? I'm the professional and you're the client. However, our stories intertwine in such a way that make me wonder why this line is here. And that continue to follow me throughout. And what I found, whether I was working with the babies, the youth and families, the parents for staff or developing leaders or whatever I was touching. There was this unique space of transformation that I was holding space for. And what I realized was that the power in that transformation came from people stripping

away the layers and returning to who they truly are. And this was not something that came to me through my mother right now, her trauma and all of that. It was not something that came to me through affirmations and personal development things. It wasn't something that came to me wrapped in religion or any of the things that I follow. It was something that organically came from the inside, something that I observed and noticed. And I realized that the power is not in reaching who you think you're supposed to be, but it's in return to who you already are. And that's what the movement is about. The world will not quiet. And it does not create space for us to listen to that whisper and really follow it. The world is full of being me, do me do this, achieve this reach for this go here, do this strive for more, no rest. It thrives on our exhaustion and distraction and distraction and the disorientation and

the mind control. It thrives on all of that. You're caught up in it. You don't even realize that you're not listening to your voice. You think that's your voice, but that's actually no way. As a cultivating the pathway back to you is really what it's all about. That's where every answer, everything you need in this world is already inside. You just got to return to it. Sounds absolutely amazing and I resonate with that. And I'm not saying that I resonate with that and hopefully I articulate this. I resonate with what you just said based on my lifetime of my journey has led me to resonate with what you just said. Now I didn't always feel that way. I didn't always know, but I do now. You know? And so now, yeah, I align with everything you said right now.

That took some time for me to come to that realization about the returning to myself and that's what I'm doing now. That's what I'm cultivating in my life now and aligning with. It's a process because I've been indoctrinated, I've been programmed and even family dynamics everything. So, it's taking on purpose work to align back with my, go ahead to show. Yes. That's the key word there. It has to be on purpose. You have to be intentional about it. You have to protect that space. You have to practice. Right? Yes. As I'm at the moment when you're chewing.

Right? Instead of rushing through your meals, right? So you can get on to the next thing and feed the machine which you'll exhaustion, slow down and savor that moment when you stuck in traffic and you upset about the fact that you can't get wherever you go and faster, slow down and savor that moment. Have life and make it on purpose or purpose. Purpose. Be the observer of what you're thinking at any given moment, slow down and tap yourself and say, hold on. Especially if something feels uncomfortable, observe why. Right. Because you rush, like you said, you rushing yourself, you were trying to align yourself with someone else's expectations. I mean, what is it? You know, and yeah, so we have to slow down and we're not like I even and not to name any names, but I even had and this is a reminder to me too.

I'm not I'm not outside of of rushing at times. But yeah, I've spoken to, you know, a close family member like we're getting ready to go and do something and all of a sudden this ansiness, this is anxiety. I'm like, wait, why? You know, I'm and this is not to try to call you out to make you feel bad, but this is to give us both clarity. Why? Why are we rushing right now? Why? You know, and you just see this, this deer in the head lights look like because they don't even know why it's like they just used to it. Like, okay, let's hurry up, get to the next thing. And that's what we were speaking about in regards to these, these episodes on social media, people are scrolling real fast. Okay, okay, let me get to the next one. Let me get to trying to get somewhere that they're never going to get to. They have to, it's already there. They're already there. So absolutely, absolutely.

And that's that's performing. We don't even realize we're doing it. It's conditioning. I mean, just capitalism, the racism, all that is right. They exist and they intertwine with one another in order to make you feel that way on purpose. Right. And then you're just succumbing to it and living in it and allowing it to be there. I say, yo, God, then you making the machine work, making the machine work. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And, and, and, and fitting right into someone else's narrative of where they want you. And, and exactly while they're doing their thing and knowing what they're purposely doing to you and aware to not be in that with you. Exactly. Exactly. Yes. So you're also a two time top 50 finalists in the global next top speaker tournament. Give us a little insight on that. What is that? And how did you become a part of that? So that was all a part of my speaking journey.

I ended up through consulting and working with others and honing my skills, right? You learn things, you meet people and all of that. And then I became aware of a tournament out of Australia. And in this tournament, everybody can enter, right? So it's an invitation for anybody who's listening to can be able to look this up the next top speaker tournament. And what I found was that it created an opportunity for me to hone my own story and tell my own truth. And so I chose moments from the book. I chose moment from book two, which is in the process of being written is not out yet. But I chose these key moments in my story and my journey to really illuminate and highlight and show people at the end of the day how to return to yourself, how to unravel these narratives around your story and who the world has told you to be.

And get back to who you are. And so I talk about the one of the first tournaments I entered. I talked about a pivotal moment, which I talk about in my book as well as a teenager. I am in a place where I just had an abortion. And I am being threatened. The message I was going on with my then boyfriend. And I am contemplating how did I get here? I am a lot of things, but how did this happen? And in order to answer that question, to truly answer that question, I have to go back. And so then I tell my grandmother's story. And then I tell my mother's story. And then I tell my story up to that point. And it's in the unraveling, not the judging, right? Not the blaming and the shaming and the fear pointing, but really digging to understand the context and what people were dealing with and how they were shaped and what happened

and how when you put the pieces together, you clearly see how you ended up in this moment. But you also get to see how you can make a different choice. And that's where the power comes in, right? So rather than being lost in the shame, right? And all the things I didn't want people to know, not only am I writing it in a book and put it out there for people to read and find themselves in it. And I also include in the book different healing exercises and things like that for you to apply it to yourself and do your own work. But in the speech and in the book, the whole purpose, the movement, all of it, regards to which door you enter, it's one return. It's the same return. And it's about coming back to yourself. And so these speeches that I'm doing in these tournament, one of them actually brought my daughter into the speech and utilized pictures of her as a baby. And then I brought her in at the end and I kissed and I thanked her for showing me that

journeying into the unknown is not the enemy, but it's actually the path of unburning, unburdening and returning to myself. And so it's still, it's all the same. It's all the same power of me returning to myself and in teaching others, the power of doing that as well. Wow, that just reminds me of a song I created. Some of what you said some time ago was called Embrace the Process. So yeah, like the path, like you said, that path that we might inadvertently or without even knowing or just are used to being that way, trying to avoid is like that's the fire you need to go through to forge you. That is actually the path. And I'm saying that is easy. No, not saying that. But the path is the reward, the path that the who you were, who were you becoming while,

and I'm just using this for context chasing what you're chasing. That's the path that you're navigating through and that will help to mold you if you allow it to who you're supposed to be or get you back to who you are. Yeah, yeah, yeah, because we are ready. We're there. These distractions have pulled and stretched us into different ways. Just like I can start with examples as a kid. We're very inquisitive. We're very artistic. We're very this. We're very freeing. We're very fearless. And then somewhere along the lines, all these get added to who we are. This fears this, you know, our inquisitiveness is gone. Then we go through the, we go through the school system and we're more shaped like robots now. Now we're not, you know what I mean? And we have to learn how to say, wait a minute. This is not who I am. Okay, I can memorize this and write it on the test, but that's not who I am.

And that's not really nurturing my creative side. So, yeah, and not to knock formal education, nothing like that. This is not to that, but I'm just giving some context as to how just different, you know, things just put us in this box. And like you said before, it's by design. It's by design. And I didn't know it for most of my life. I didn't know it, but I know it now. And that's the key. Some people never know it or they don't want to know it. You give them the, you give them the, I'm not sure. I'll say this as they do out there on the streets, we give them the game. They don't want it. They don't want it. That's right. They're happy with their illusion of what they think is right or in the misery or whatever that they're accustomed to. So, because I was in the reason I could say that because that was me, you know, you know, I didn't know what I didn't know. And I thought, you know, I didn't want to expand outside of that.

And it isn't a, it isn't an uncomfortable process to be shown things that you've attached your identity to that is not the truth. But you've aligned yourself with it because without those, you're like, well, then who am I? My whole life has been alive then. Well, yeah, you got to break it down in order for you to build up. You got to break everything down. So it's okay. It's okay to be uncomfortable, you know, in order to grow, in order to grow, you know. That's, you absolutely have to be actually right. You don't grow when you're comfortable. And so when we think about our purpose here on life and it's all about you come home, right? And then you descend kind of into the world and then you ascend back to that wholeness. And so it is a process that's all designed on purpose, right? We all get all these things fit to us and we're conditioned and indoctrinated as you talked

about as we talked about earlier. That's all about design as well because at the end of the day, this whole matrix, all of it, everything that we got going on is still the product of God, the quantum force, the quantum field, the spirit and mother earth. I don't know what word you use. It works for you, the divine spirit. I'm not here to convert you or tell you what word to use, but there is an essence that is the true source of it all. And that true source created all of this. So at the end of the day, finding your way back to it, that true source, not what somebody told you it is. Not just a key and not to cut you off with that, that's the key. That's the key. What somebody told you. Now with somebody told you and we're handed based on where we live, right? Or who raised us because that may or may not be your parents. So I don't say your parents, but based on where you live and how you was raised, your hand in the package, near told what to believe.

And then we're all human. So we have this in a desire to belong, right? And we want to be comfortable and we want to belong. And so you put those norms, right? And the desire to belong and be like others and to be a part of the group and to not be other. You put all of that above, right? What that voice inside is saying, right? It's not a judgment because that's what we do. That's the descent into the matrix, if you will. Now the goal is, at what point do you start to listen to that inner voice, that divine spark that is in us all, right? And regardless of what package you was handed regardless of what the education is, that you got regardless to what the culture or the upbringing was like, what the educational package. And I say that on purpose, regardless to what the educational package was, I like that handed to you, right? And but it's up to you to start to listen to that divine spark that is inside of you and

you start to unravel that stuff slowly, but surely there you go. Everybody's on their individual path. Quiet noise. Quiet. Quiet noise. You got a decipher the noise from that God within that inner voice from that corner, from that divine spark. Quiet the noise. Quiet the noise. Yeah. Listen to that. Yeah. Oh my God. The noise is loud. And loud. So it's sometimes as hard to decipher. It's it. Noise. Is this the indoctrination? Is this the programming or is this my voice? What? But you'll know. I'm telling you. You will know. You will know. You will know. Yes. Don't try to make yourself know like, oh, yeah, this is my voice. You know, you know, you can get out your own way. Get out your own way. Take some time. No. Because it took me some time to get out my own way because I was so eager to want certain things to be my voice. If you understand what I'm saying, this is my voice right here.

Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. So that you can learn it. It. We ain't going to just know because that voice is among all the other voices. Right. Learn how to attune to it and understand that no this is the force. It's the force. To an end to the free. Exactly. Is it our DNA? It's in there. That's why everybody can tune into it. It's not like well. No, you got too much programming so you can't. Yeah. Yeah. Especially. I'm speaking of experience. With all the indoctrination that I've encountered and I'm not trying to come from a victim standpoint. Yeah. Now I have contrast and I'm able to come on this platform and speak about it because it's from a place of experience and knowing and look, I'm just going to share with everyone and look, I'm going to tap. I'm going to I'm going to I'm going to indulge in myself. I know I look good, but look, I'm about to be 55 years old and next week.

So it took me a long time in my 20s and my teens and my 20s and my 30s. Most of my 40s. I didn't know. I didn't know my own voice. I didn't. I would by the time I got to my 40s, I was on that path like something was something right. You know. So, but I'm here now and I'm not finished. So absolutely. Yeah. I'm not finished. And there's some indigenous cultures that say, you're not even grown until you 49. There's a magic of the seven and so it's seven rounds of seven that you got to hit right before they even consider you grow. And I know why now and I resonate with that now that part is yes, that part that part. It's really. It's okay. It's okay. Yeah. And that's okay. Everybody is in a different place on their journey. And so you might not be ready to hear that. Yeah, it might not be time on your path because your path is different than my path and

that's different than their path. And that's okay. That's okay. So it's not about judgment or blame or even anger or sadness, but there is a grieving that you go through once you recognize that divine spark that is in you and you start to unplug from the matrix and you start to peel these things back. And it's a grieving process that you have to go through. And so you get to go through all of those emotions. And grieving is not a linear process, right? You don't get to check them off. Okay, I was angry. Okay, I was sad. It don't work that way. Grieving is her own beast. And she does what she wants the way she wants, however she wants. It comes in waves and it comes and goes and it does what it needs to do. But there is a grieving process that has to happen once you realize that you too have been caught in the matrix and you have to forgive yourself and you have to go through those steps. And it is a journey. And we're going to take that journey to our deathbeds, whatever, whenever, however that is or any of us, we're going to take that journey there because it's not a checkbox.

It is a decent into the matrix and then a scent, right? And I want to be clear and saying that it's not an ascent to something outside of yourself. All right. So as we look up for God or we say it's going to be in the cosmos or whatever that may be, it's an inward ascent. There you go. Yes, it is inward. Yes, yes, yes. That's the inward that I like to focus on. Yep. Think about it. That's a play on that. Oh, don't say the inward. Yeah, say the inward to me because that's what I'm doing. Looking inward. That's funny. Yes, absolutely agree. But at the end of the day, it's inward. And when you think about how many packaged religions we have out here that are telling us to worship and align and describe to something outside of ourselves, think about the contrast in that. And the last time I did the research, we had somewhere upwards of 10,000 religions documented

across the globe. Right. What? Like, you want to give it me one? Like, I can want package. And it's up to 10,000, like just that number. It's the right one, right? And it's the right one. Right. This is the right one. This is the right one. Out of the 10,000, this is the right one. That none of that makes sense. None of that makes sense. But at the end of the day, when we think about, first of all, the vastness of that number, and then the fact that how many of them are telling you to ascribe to something outside of yourself. Right. Right. That's our spiritual package. Disempowering. Very disempowering. Right. Very disenpowering. And that's our purpose too. Yep. Disempowering, depending on something in our own side. Right. And get more into that. We're coming up to our time, but I want to hit you real quick with this one. This might be redundant, but just give us a little insight, just a brief insight on. And you might already have touched on it.

Because I'm looking at your words here. You guide strong women to break cycles of overdoing, restoring peace in every season. Give us a little insight on how you might not not, and you already know this. I don't even have to say it, but I'm saying it for context without giving away your recipe. How do you, how do you, how do you do that? Absolutely. Absolutely. So my process is a personal development and spiritual awareness process at the end of the day. So I'm not going to give you affirmations and time management plans until you're going to delegate more. And then all of a sudden, you're going to feel rested. You ask for help, you get the help and you still wake up tired. That's what we're going to talk about. That's what we're going to dive into as much deeper than that. And so I've developed my own framework, actually called the sole approach. And it is a cyclical process that you can repeat, that's the stain on your own after working with me, that helps you quiet the noise and connect to that internal divine spark. And then you create your mat from there.

And that's not the mind. That's not here. That's going to the subconscious and the super conscious, right, which is much deeper than what traditional programs teach you to tap into. And then we create your mat from there. And from there, now you claim it, you speak it and you walk in it and you have the right kind of support and accountability to help you do that. Many of my techniques, because I'm also a raky practitioner. I'm a yoga instructor. I do work over witnessing with cards and I'm extremely somatic and intuitive myself. It's all used my lineage wisdom and all of that to help guide you and create that container for you. And so every time you're with me, your nervous system is going to settle. You're going to experience that emotional shift. I'm going to teach you how to do it so that you can sustain it outside of that space with us in all of your life. And then we're going to come back to self. We're going to return to self and we're going to create a plan for your future from that sacred space, right, as opposed to anything else that you may have been packaged or handed.

They're probably not working because it's not holding all of you, all the layers of you. Right. Don't ask aloud. You step into the container with me and we do breath work. We do raky. How might I be doing when he yoga in a given session? We're going to do some thought primes. We're going to dig deep, but we're going to do it all from that subconscious space by passing on my eye to get to your truth. Thanks. And thank you. Thank you. Last but not least, how do we find you? Can you share with us on here? You're, you have your website right there. So it's leveraging truth.com. Yeah. Okay. Any other links you would like to share? That's all I'm doing is leveraging truth. Y'all just leveraging truth using truth. And so if you hit my website leveraging truth.com, you can find me whether it's a speaking inquiry, whether you want to learn more about the book, whether you want to do some oracle witnessing with me or you want to dive into the coaching container.

It doesn't matter what path you choose, the return is going to be the same. And you can access all of that on my website. And for listeners that are here, I do have a free guide. It's called put the weight down. It's for that exhausted woman looking for that real rest. And it's a guy that is available for you to use and get a taste of what it's like to work with me. And I'll share that link with you as well so that they can have the direct link to that to be able to access that free tool as well. Because you deserve it. The moment you stop performing strength and return to who you already are, that's when the freedom truly, truly comes. Because rest, my darling, is not the reward. It is the pathway. It's the pathway. Wow, amazing. And I forgot to ask you, how do we find your book? Absolutely. So it is available on Amazon, but you can also, it's the direct links right on my website. On your website, yes. Okay.

Absolutely. It's hard. Why she like that. Why she like that? I like the title. You want to know? You want to know why she like that? Why she like that? You want to know why she like that? Pick that book up. Yeah. What an Amazon to get it. Why she like that by D. Shell Parker. Yes. Absolutely. Thank you very much, D. Shell. And I want to say this before we conclude really, really quick. I'm personally inviting you back on because I want to dive into some of the earlier contexts that we were talking about. And I'll tell people, I'm not going to, I'm going to give people a little nugget. A little nugget. Something real quick. I'm going to put it this way without even really talking about it. If you find yourself, look, I have, let me say this, I have an array of people ethnicities on this show. But if something that I say or that is shared on here, trigger something in you, then that's

where you need to look into that. You'll see what I'm talking about. But we've all been, I can't speak for everyone, but a lot of us from my perspective, especially here in the US, have been indoctrinated with a lot of different things, histories and things have been hidden and all that. And we're going to touch up a D. Shell and I are going to touch up on some of that. So I'm leaving right there. We're going to touch up on some of this stuff. And I'm personally inviting you back right here live on this show to do a part two with me and let's touch on some of this and give people some history, some things. Because we've done some of our due diligence, and I say we know everything, but I can tell that you've done some deep diving and some work and some researching and so of I. And I think we put that together and shed some light on some things. That's all. That's all I'm saying. That's shed some light. So yeah, I want you back on here. Let's do it. All right.

Yes, let's do it. I'm honored. Absolutely. And we'd love to have those deeper commerce. Yes, let's do it. Let's do it and shed some light on and show some real history, some some some history, some things that that will shake some people's, you know, rattle some people's stuff, but hey, it's not, it's it is what it is. You know, it is what it is. But yeah, thank you again, D. Shell, for for for being here today and for sharing your amazing talent, your journeys, your passions and your authentic self and for reminding us of how powerful we are. Thank you for that. I'm really, really so welcome. It was an absolute honor and pleasure to be here. I always enjoy having these deep conversations.
