Jones and Keith, WWE EI, the dial is up 617-779-793-7.
We will update the Jones and Keith 1990-slash early 2000s heavy metal, new metal, grunge,
alternative, pop-pong, butt rock, rock bands, bracket.
We got some tight match-ups.
Limbysket and corn today.
You could still vote yesterday's match-up, third eye blind and nine-engine ails some very
close match-ups.
A real Sophie's choice.
Three vote matters.
So we'll update that coming up in just a little bit.
I want to get to some Patriots thoughts here coming up, but Kellyanne Amherst, we're
talking about with Turk, if you missed any of Turk, go listen on the Odyssey app, AUDACY,
download the app.
It's free.
It's easy.
You could take it with you wherever you go.
You want me to second a Jones and Keith, including pure hoops.
We were asking who won the poor Zingas trade.
And I think it's hard for me to say they won that trade, the Celtics because they got nothing
in return.
I would say I don't think the Warriors won it.
I don't know if the Hawks won it.
Good point.
Good point.
But you're like, it's addition by some traction because it allows for Cata to break
out.
It allows for Garzilla even to make some plays here and there.
And it allows for them to make the Vooch of its trade, which I think is fair.
There's only you wanted to rely on the guy because he is good enough when he's healthy
to be one of your better players still, but it's like how many games is he going to play?
Without looking it up, you don't have the answer.
He like just came back for Golden State the other night, but what's the question?
How many games has he played this year?
Yes, he's played for Atlanta and he won't say 22.
Yeah.
Wow.
That's what?
60 games.
Right.
These teams have played or however many is eligible for.
How many is Vooch of its played for you?
Like none.
Five, maybe.
So, you know, to me, that I guess is now the equation, but if you tell me Vooch of its
back for the playoffs, he should he'll be out there every night.
I feel like he's reliable and I know what you're getting.
Yeah.
Not this guy.
So it was just unfortunate.
And it made sense.
Obviously it was a salary, dumb, obviously.
But I think it was just to play 12, by the way.
With the selling.
That's more than I would have thought.
It's actually closer than I would have thought.
Never mind.
I was going to guess it was like six.
I'm thinking Tatum's played five.
Maybe that's what I was thinking.
Yeah.
So he's played 12.
So he's almost played as many games.
He's played 10 fewer games.
He's here a month.
Yeah.
I mean, that does really go.
There you go.
They won the trade.
So, but, but Vooch of its really is the holiday trade.
You know what I'm saying?
No, it is.
You could have done both.
I don't think they would have.
I'm not saying the body swaps.
I just mean more.
Mazzoole looked at the team that he had.
And I think it would have been harder for him to be like, you're coming off the bench.
No, you're starting.
I'm like, he's like a real starter.
And then Tatum comes back.
And I go, we're going to start him with him.
I was like, Shireman was an obvious idea to go to the bench.
There.
The team fits better without him.
Kelly is an Amherst.
Hello, Kelly.
Hey, guys.
So, yeah.
Just real quick.
I completely agree that right now in March, you know, Baylor, Shireman, Kate, a lot of
that.
And a lot of guys are getting a lot of more play because Przinga isn't there.
I think the team is better than it would have been if Przinga was on the team.
But I don't know, man, I got a feeling if we get to May or even June and we get smoked
by the thunder, the spurs, you might be wishing we had Przinga.
That's all I got.
Maybe you had him last year and unfortunately, he had one of those strange illnesses.
We didn't know what it was.
He wanted to take a little snooze every time.
He did.
It was scary.
But like, he played 11 games last year in the playoffs.
He started seven of them and he averaged seven points in game.
He couldn't, he couldn't even play twitch, twitch chat.
Thank you.
Is about half right.
Rather be golfing says, Jones, you'd be, you'd be ripping the Celtics if they kept
KP.
Well, I definitely didn't want him back on this team.
At the end of the post season, I'm like, I'm done with the KP experience.
Couldn't do it.
They also got nothing for him, right?
Nothing.
No, no.
So, I mean, that to me is good for a guy that plays 12 games, no, but I'm just saying,
like, now the equation is, he only plays 22 games, but what would I rather have 22 games
of Porzinga's or nothing?
So like, I, you're not wrong.
I didn't want Porzinga's back, but you got zero for him.
In fact, you got, I already forgot who it is.
The Mathuan, what do they call him?
What are they calling?
Yeah, what do they call him though?
The Mathuan.
Oh, what is his nickname?
It was a something good.
It was like, yeah, it was the Mathuan minivan is that what it was?
Oh, I think you're right.
They got the Mathuan minivan and they like trade form and they just, how right?
Relief, they've, they've got nothing for him.
Yeah, yeah, it's nice.
They got nothing for him.
They just, they just saved, uh, Chisholm money.
So that, I, I have a bigger issue with that.
Like if all it's doing is saving Chisholm money, then I guess I'd rather have Porzinga's
break glass of gays of emergency and maybe he goes off for 30 like he did the other night
for the Warriors in a playoff game.
The hawks actually got more of a haul for Porzinga's, they got buddy healed and Jonathan
Kaminga.
So this one's saying.
So like, do I think that's a great trade either?
No, but you could have gotten more, you didn't want to get more because it was all about
saving money.
So that's my issue with it.
But I think if, if they made a basketball trade, I would have been fine with it.
They didn't make a basketball trade.
They made a financial trade.
I guess that's my issue.
Speaking of money, how much money do you think Porzinga's after this season will have
made in the NBA?
Oh, 200 million.
Yeah.
236.
So I was even low.
Yeah.
Wow.
Good gravy.
Pretty good.
Pretty good.
Uh, speaking of cash, where are we at on Christian Gonzalez and an extension, Keith?
Are you feeling like as the days go by, I feel worse.
I mean, initially it was like, they might, they might franchise it when I'm like, what?
Yeah.
But Darts kind of been on that too.
So I'm, I'm not a little concerned.
It's not happening before training camp.
I'm a little concerned.
It's not happening before week one and like the longer it goes along, I'm, what I thought
was a lock to get done.
Now I'm, I'm nervous about it.
Yeah.
I mean, it's, it's hard to tell.
It doesn't seem like there's any real traction towards it for sure.
And you know, unless he signs today at 205 or when we get off the air, it seems like
it's far less likely that it's a Derek Stingley extension, get it done in spring versus like
sauce gardener, certain sort of like before the season begins where I still think that's
definitely a possibility.
But you're right.
When current, he said it with us, I think you said it on TV where essentially not to put
words in his mouth, he's like, what's the rush?
I'm like, I don't know all these other great corners are signing early.
Do you really want to?
Well, drag this thing out with his watch, the rush, he's eligible rush contractually.
Nothing.
I mean, there isn't anything.
He's under contract.
He's on your team.
But like, what's the rush?
Keeping him happy.
Yeah.
So he hasn't put up a stink and hold out.
Like what do you mean?
What's the rush?
That's what I would say.
Yeah.
So that, that's the equation.
Like how much, how much money are you saving by doing this?
You're not the longer you wait.
If you, unless you don't want him, you weren't able to pay him last off season.
But if you did, he would have been cheaper.
If you paid him before McDuffy, he would have been cheaper.
If you pay him before witherspoon, he'll be cheaper.
So like the longer you wait, the price tag is just going up.
And you just said something interesting if they even want him.
You don't think they want him?
No, they should, but I'm saying like that, that would be the only reason to not extend
him early.
If you're ultimately going to give him that money, why even deal with any kind of a headache,
why draw it out?
Because I was another thing.
Current didn't have an answer for that two weeks ago when I was like, what would be the
reason not to sign him early?
And like, especially if that's something that he really wants, right?
If that's going to make him happy and then you bring him back and he's in camp, he's
in all the stuff and he's ready for week one of the season because I get the team part
of it.
Well, you were a first round pick.
We have team control over you for not only five years, but if we want to use the franchise
tag up to seven years, we could just keep you.
But that doesn't happen a lot.
And at any time you get into that, even the fifth year option for really elite players,
that starts to piss those guys off.
Whereas we've seen now a history, not necessarily a Patriot history, but elite corners currently
in the NFL clear hit the group that he belongs in.
Those guys all signed early, or before their contracts came to an end, and then the ones
that didn't get big extensions with their team got traded and immediately got extensions
with their team.
Saw us, McDuffy.
Yep.
I feel like you're seeing it even more with corners now.
Like wide receivers.
That was one thing that we saw.
But now it's like, yeah, saw some McDuffy was like, all right, we're not going to extend
these guys, whether there's bad blood or whatever the reason is, they move on.
And then that team is more than willing to make those guys the highest paid players.
So I just, I was, current gave us one of a few weird answers yesterday, but he's like,
well, I don't really care about the cash spending year to year over a three year rolling period.
He's like, I don't pay it to a lot of attention to it.
I'm like, well, that's how Robert says he spends his money.
So I would personally pay attention to that.
And your colleague Greg Bedard has highlighted that.
And they're basically at their limit for cash spending this off season.
If they pay attention to cash to cap over a three year rolling period, which is how
craft says they do their books.
So they're basically at that limit.
So are they going to spend any more money on Gonzalez?
We're already talking about cash going out bar more unwitting someone like that to bring
in AJ Brown.
Yeah.
Are they going to have to move one for AJ and another for Gonzalez or they just not going
to play that game with Gonzalez or because it's an extension, can you really push that
money off into the future?
I mean, I guess with Gonzalez, you really could do that.
So maybe that's the work around, but yeah, I feel I feel less good about that the longer
we go along and I feel I feel worse and worse by the day.
Yeah.
I guess the only hope would be, all right, you're one of Mike Ravel was such a smashing
success.
Robert Kraft is still not in the Hall of Fame.
Maybe the combination there is like, hey, we normally spend it like this, but AJ Brown
isn't available every single year.
Christian Gonzalez isn't up for an extension every single year.
So these two things are kind of colliding together, but we're going to make room for
both.
Without having a sacrifice on when it were bar more, although those guys definitely could
be kind of a cash casualty in the whole thing.
But though there's a scenario, it is within is easily within their ability to have all
of those guys on the team.
Yeah.
And it's just a matter of like, will they will they be able to do it now?
Obviously with AJ Brown to, AJ Brown is the only one out of those four that has anything
to do with like another team, the other three.
It's all up to you.
Six, one, seven, seven, seven, nine, seven, nine, three, seven.
Good point by dark and stormy nights in the Twitch chat guys.
If you have questions for Gonzo, just get them on the show.
That's a good call.
Billy, can we get them back?
Let's get Gonzo back in here.
Amanda, man, that'd be cool.
We'll go 10 questions, but then we'll also try to get some contract details out of
them.
We get Gonzo back on.
All right.
So we typically have four Patriots guests.
We have the two Monday guests and then we have two Friday guests that alternate.
Alternate.
Eight weeks in their contract, apparently, so eight, nine weeks in their contract.
This year, Mondays, we had Hunter, Henry, and Christian Ellis, those guys are both back
on the team.
Christian, you come on this show every single week here on WEEI, what is the name of this
radio show?
I don't know, I couldn't tell you, you could give me options and I couldn't tell you.
You give me a hundred million dollars, I couldn't tell you the name of this show.
You give me a hundred guaranteed, I couldn't tell you the name of this show.
I didn't, I'm a guest, I couldn't, couldn't even begin to tell you.
I would have preferred a guest, stick a wrong answer, but honestly, with your last name,
he had a chance.
He was like Smith and Jones.
We were like, yeah, they get, that's like me taking tests in high school, throwing answers
out there and hoping I got partial credit.
Yeah, I wouldn't give it a partial credit, yeah, also choice.
He should have asked for multiple choice, you're like the Greg Hills show, Jones and
Keith WEEI Afternoons or Christian Arcane, what show is that?
Arcane!
It's like you think it's nights with Christian Arcane, you're on right now at noon.
At the show.
WEEI Afternoons, it's 10.30 in the morning and then Friday we had Milton Williams and Mike
on Monday, so Mike on Monday maybe up in the air, but if not, we might have the whole
gang back together.
No, I hate to say that might sway my feelings on which money should go out, but interesting
I hadn't thought about it in those terms, six, one, seven, seven, seven, nine, seven,
ninety, three, seven.
We'll get to all your thoughts here coming up, plus we will update the Jones and Keith
March madness, 1990 slash early 2000s, heavy metal, new metal, grunge, alternative, pop
punk, butt rock, rock bands, bracket, two matchups for you today in Woodstock, 99, still
time to vote in some close matchups in the grab bag region.
Yesterday, we'll give you all the details coming up.
