Wisconsin Badgers: New AD, Interim Leader, & GM Search

On April 16th, Wisconsin Badgers just dropped some big admin news.

Athletic Director Chris McIntosh is stepping down after 10 years with the program,

including three as the top guy since 2021.

He's heading to a new gig at the Big Ten Conference.

Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Operating Officer Marcus Sedbury

steps up as interim AD right away. He's been climbing the ranks,

even taking on General Manager duties for athletics and football last fall.

Head Coach Luke Fickle says it's decent timing since recruiting,

and the transfer portal are wrapped for this season.

The focus stays on spring football and team building,

but he knows they need a solid plan soon to keep things moving fast in college sports.

Fickle expects decisions by the end of spring ball, especially on replacing that key GM spot.

Sedbury agrees it's crucial and plans to team up with Fickle to sort it out.

With Sedbury at the helm for now, the Badgers aim to push forward steady,

keeping student athletes first, while hunting for the right permanent,

leaders to steer the ship.
