Wisconsin Badgers Spring Practice: Closed to Fans, Open to Media

On March 12, Wisconsin Badgers football released their spring practice schedule this week, kicking

things off March 19 and wrapping up April 30, with 15 sessions.

They stick to the usual Tuesday Thursday Saturday rhythm under Coach Luke Fickle.

The big news is no fan-friendly spring showcase this time around, keeping it closed to media

only.

They will squeeze in four practices before spring break, hits March 28 through April 5.

Luke for the main event, a full scrimmage on Saturday, April 25, which should give a real

test run for the squad.

Fans might miss the open access, but Fickle has flipped the script before, from a reigning

launch event in his first year to a showcase last spring.

Then, media only the year before.

This closed approach less than focus inward amid roster shakeups.

Media gets plenty of face time, though, with Fickle, offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes,

offensive coordinator Mike Tressel, every assistant, and projected start a quarterback

Colton Joseph all available, starting April 7 after break.

With 33 transfers shaking up wide receivers, offensive line, defensive line, and cornerbacks,

spring reps will spark fierce battles and hint at the team's potential moving forward.
