Toronto Maple Leafs Gold Tender, Joseph Wool, stepped up in a tough 4-3 overtime loss to

the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday.

The 27-year-old made 32 saves against the top Eastern Conference team, but the Maple

Leafs fell short after a penalty shot goal, a short-handed breakaway and an overtime winner.

With the team at 29 wins, 28 losses and 13 ties, they're out of the playoff picture

this season.

Earlier this week, Wall returned from a personal family matter and has started five of the

last six games ahead of teammate Anthony Stolars.

Over his most recent five outings, he's won win, three losses, and one tie with a 0.914

save percentage, showing steady improvement amid.

He mates have praise, walls, focus, and preparation.

Captain John Tavaris noted his consistent work ethic is building momentum, while call-up

center Benoit Olivier Grohl called him unreal in net, saying, he's dialed in off the

Meanwhile, Grohl's is making waves since his recall from the American Hockey League,

The 26-year-old drafted 54th overall by Anaheim in 2018, signed with Toronto last summer,

the team, and sharpen his skills heading into the final.
