Toronto Blue Jays pitcher, Trey Yesavage, will open the 2026 Major League Baseball season

on the injured list.

He's recovering from a shoulder impingement as reported by sports nets Arden's Welling

on Thursday.

In 2025, ISavage made a rapid rise through the Blue Jays minor league system.

Having a single A Dunedin, he posted a 3.12 earned run average with 160 strikeouts over

98 innings.

The organization named him minor league pitcher of the year for his efforts.

That earned him a September call up to the majors, where he went 1 in 0 with a 3.21 earned

run average and 16 strikeouts in.

Yesavage kept delivering in the playoffs.

He finished 3 in 1 with a 3.58 earned run average and a rookie record 39 strikeouts in 27

and 2 thirds.
