A 22-year-old woman from Lestershire is urging young people to trust their instincts after

her heart issues were brushed off as anxiety for.

Two years, Abby Frankham started noticing symptoms at age 18, like pounding heartbeats

and constant exhaustion that made simple walks feel like marathons.

She pushed for tests and finally got diagnosed in September 2024 with second degree type

one heart block, a condition causing slow or, irregular heart rhythms.

Doctors initially overlooked her complaints because of her young age, but Abby kept advocating

for herself.

She described her heart feeling like it was slamming against her ribcage, even during

everyday tasks like tidying the house.

This led to her avoiding exercise and social activities she once loved, like swimming and

gym sessions, the impact hit hard on her daily life and confidence.

She struggled to get out of bed, called in sick to her new job often, and felt isolated

without peers facing the same issues.

Her overwhelming tiredness and breathlessness made normal routines impossible.

A 48-hour heart monitor revealed the block, mostly at night, confirming pauses that could

be risky if over six seconds.

Now she takes Eva Broding twice a day to control her daytime heart rate, avoiding a pacemaker

for the moment since she's so young.

Abby's ordeal has shifted her outlook, reminding her to seize every day since health can

change fast.

She hopes her story encourages others to speak up early.
