Abdul Aziz was a governor of Kufa during the Umayyad Caliphate. He was the father of Umar bin Abdul Aziz, the fifth Caliph of Islam. Not much is known about Abdul Aziz's life, but he is mentioned in historical records as a wise and just leader.
