Astronomer and discoverer of Van Maanen's Star
Adriaan van Maanen was a Dutch astronomer who made significant contributions to the field of astronomy. He is best known for discovering Van Maanen's Star, a star in the constellation of Leo that was initially thought to be a variable star. Van Maanen was born in 1864 in the Netherlands and studied physics and astronomy at the University of Utrecht. He went on to work at the Leiden Observatory, where he made several important discoveries. Van Maanen was a pioneer in the field of astronomy and paved the way for future generations of astronomers. He passed away in 1947 at the age of 83.
