Alan Renwick

Alan Renwick is a Professor of Political Science at UCL's Constitution Unit. He has written extensively on the role of referendums in democracy and has advised governments on referendum design. Renwick is a leading expert on the pros and cons of referendums and has taught courses on constitutional law and politics at universities around the world. He is also a fellow of the British Academy and a member of the House of Lords. Renwick has been involved in several high-profile referendums, including the Scottish independence referendum and the Brexit referendum. He has also worked on several projects on the use of referendums in other countries, including France and Germany.
