Albert Hoffman was a Swiss chemist and psychiatrist who is best known for his work on LSD. He was born in 1906 in Basel, Switzerland, and studied medicine at the University of Basel. Hoffman worked at the University of Zurich, where he conducted research on the effects of LSD on the human mind. He is credited with synthesizing LSD-25, the first psychoactive compound of its kind. Hoffman's work on LSD led to a deeper understanding of the human brain and its potential for growth and development. He was a pioneer in the field of psychedelic research and wrote extensively on the subject. Hoffman passed away in 1980 at the age of 73.
