Former head of the IMF's Western Hemisphere Department
Alejandro Werner is an Argentine economist and former head of the IMF's Western Hemisphere Department. He has worked for the IMF since 2001 and has been involved in the development of economic policies for countries in the region. Werner has also worked as a professor at Georgetown University and has written extensively on economic issues in Latin America. He is currently a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics.
