Alex Galchenyuk is an American professional ice hockey center who currently plays for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on February 12, 1994, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Galchenyuk played college hockey at the University of Minnesota and was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He has also played for the Arizona Coyotes and Colorado Avalanche.
