Alexander Gerst

Alexander Gerst is a German astronaut and space researcher. He was born in 1976 in Munich, Germany. Gerst earned a degree in physics from the Technical University of Munich. He worked as a research scientist at the German Aerospace Center before being selected as an astronaut by the European Space Agency in 2012. Gerst has flown on two space missions, including a stint on the International Space Station. He is currently a professor at the Technical University of Munich.
