Napoleonic general and chief of staff
Alexandre Berthier was a French general and the chief of staff to Napoleon Bonaparte. He played a key role in the Napoleonic Wars and was known for his strategic thinking and organizational skills. Berthier was also a skilled diplomat and helped to negotiate several key treaties, including the Treaty of Tilsit. He was a close friend and advisor to Napoleon and was instrumental in planning several of his military campaigns. Berthier was born in 1767 and died in 1815. He is remembered as one of the most important figures in the Napoleonic era.
