Alfonso Dastis

Alfonso Dastis is a Spanish politician and diplomat. He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Union from 2011 to 2018, and was a key figure in the Spanish government's response to the European migrant crisis. Born in 1960 in Madrid, Spain, Dastis studied law at the Complutense University of Madrid. He began his career in politics in the 1980s, working for various political parties and serving in various government positions. Dastis is also a prominent figure in the Spanish conservative party, the People's Party. He has written several books on politics and international relations, and is a frequent commentator on Spanish TV and radio.
