Alfonso XIII was the King of Spain from 1886 to 1931. He was the eldest son of King Alfonso XII and Queen Maria Cristina of Habsburg-Lorraine. Alfonso XIII was born on May 28, 1886, in Madrid, Spain. He ascended to the throne at the age of 10 after the death of his father. During his reign, Alfonso XIII faced numerous challenges, including the Spanish-American War, the Moroccan War, and the rise of the Republican movement in Spain. He was known for his conservative and authoritarian policies, which led to widespread discontent among the Spanish people. Alfonso XIII was eventually forced to abdicate the throne in 1931, following the establishment of the Second Spanish Republic.
