Alfred de Zayas

Alfred de Zayas is a Cuban-American lawyer, diplomat, and academic. He served as the United Nations Independent Expert on the Promotion of a Democratic and Respect for Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in the World. De Zayas is a professor at Geneva University's School of Diplomacy and a former diplomat with the Cuban government. He has written extensively on international law, human rights, and US foreign policy.
