Ali Al-Rasheed

Ali Al-Rasheed is a British historian and author of books on Islamic history, particularly on the history of the Shia Muslims. He has written extensively on the history of the Islamic world and has been a vocal critic of Western Orientalism. Al-Rasheed has a PhD in history from the University of London and has taught at several universities in the UK. He is currently a research fellow at the Middle East Institute. He is known for his work on the history of the Shia Muslims and his critiques of Western Orientalism.
