Alison Bechdel

Alison Bechdel is an American cartoonist, author, and playwright. She is best known for her comic strip Dykes to Watch Out For, which she created in 1983. Bechdel has also written several books, including the memoir Fun Home, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography in 2003. She has been recognized for her work with numerous awards, including the National Book Award and the Lambda Literary Award. Bechdel has also been a prominent advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and has spoken publicly about her experiences as a lesbian.
