Alphonse Promayet

Alphonse Promayet was a French painter and sculptor who was active in the mid-19th century. He was a member of the French Academy of Fine Arts and was known for his portraits and landscapes. Promayet was also a prolific writer and published several books on art and aesthetics. He was a key figure in the development of Realism and is known for his bold and unflinching depictions of everyday life. Promayet died in 1864 at the age of 55.
