Andrei Tarkovsky was a Russian film director, screenwriter, and film theorist. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, known for his visually stunning and emotionally powerful films. Tarkovsky was born in Russia and began his career in the 1960s, directing films such as "Andrei Rublev" and "Solaris". He was awarded numerous accolades, including the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
