Andrey Platonov was a Russian writer, literary critic, and philosopher. He is best known for his novels and short stories that explore the human condition in Soviet Russia. Platonov was born in 1900 in the village of Kursk, Russia, and died in 1951 in Moscow. He is considered one of the most important Russian writers of the 20th century.
