Infamous pirate and feminist icon
Ann Bonny was an Irish-American pirate who sailed the Caribbean seas in the early 18th century. She is best known for her involvement in the pirate crew of Calico Jack Rackham, and her romantic relationship with Mary Read. Bonny was known for her bravery and cunning, and was one of the few female pirates of her time. She was born in Ireland and later moved to the American colonies, where she became involved in piracy. Bonny's life has been the subject of much speculation and myth-making over the years, but her legacy as a feminist icon and pirate remains unchallenged.
