Historian and educator
Anna Julia Cooper was a historian, educator, and civil rights activist. She was born in 1858 and died in 1964. Cooper was a prominent figure in the African American community and was known for her work on education and women's rights. She was also a strong advocate for racial equality and social justice. Cooper was a professor at Howard University and was a leading figure in the African American intellectual movement. She was posthumously inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame.
