Anna Politkovskaya

Anna Politkovskaya was a Russian journalist and human rights activist who was known for her fearless reporting on human rights abuses in Russia. She was a prominent critic of the Russian government and was awarded several international journalism prizes for her work. Politkovskaya was also a vocal advocate for democracy and freedom of speech. She was assassinated in 2006 while working on a story in Chechnya. Politkovskaya was based in Moscow, Russia.
