Theologian and Archbishop of Canterbury
Anselm of Canterbury was a brilliant scholar and writer who served as Archbishop of Canterbury from 1093 to 1109. He is best known for his work 'Why God Became Man', which explores the nature of Christ's incarnation. Anselm was born in Aosta, Italy, and studied at the University of Benevento. He later became a monk and eventually rose to become Archbishop of Canterbury. Anselm was a key figure in the development of medieval theology and is still widely studied and respected today.
