British Conservative politician and statesman
Anthony Eden was a British politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1955 to 1957. He was a member of the Conservative Party and a strong advocate for British imperialism. Eden was known for his charismatic personality and his ability to navigate complex international relationships. He played a key role in the Suez Crisis, which was a major international incident in 1956. Eden was also a skilled diplomat and was able to negotiate the withdrawal of British forces from Egypt. He was succeeded as Prime Minister by Harold Macmillan. Eden was born on June 12, 1897, in Mafra, Portugal, and died on January 14, 1977, in London, England.
