Antonio Cardinal Mezzofanti was an Italian cardinal, diplomat, and scholar. He served as the Dean of the College of Cardinals from 1838 to 1843. Mezzofanti was known for his diplomatic skills and his ability to navigate complex international relations. He was also a scholar and wrote extensively on various subjects, including politics and history. Mezzofanti was born in Rome, Italy in 1774 and died in 1849.
